My favorite new place to get coffee in town. Nice warm ambiance inside and the staff are very friendly as expected.

A fast, no frills place where you can order your sandwich and coffee to go, or if you're lucky and it's warm and sunny, sit on the benches outside. Maybe they were undergoing renovation when I was there, as it seemed like one side of the space was walled off where previous photos showed a seating area. The people were really nice both times I was there! Not sure how they make their bagels, but I love that slight crunchy exterior. Something I really appreciated was the available parking and the bit of distance from central downtown Burlington, and so it wasn't overwhelmed with tourists and there's no hassle with finding a spot to park :) read more

This is the college-town bagel shop that many of us living in non-college towns wish we had. (to say nothing of us living out west where apparently no one knows how to make bagels and no one knows why they don't) There is a way of custom options, many of them truly innovative! There are lots of bagel sando combos that I've never seen before! There are tons of options for every diet type as well! Not a sit down place, but there are some stools and a counter near the entrance. I ordered an egg, sausage and cheese sandwich on a sesame bagel. The sandwich was delicious and the bagel was crispy and airy. I also had a very good hot latte and I tried their blueberry muffin since I heard it was the best. The muffin did not disappoint. Wow, wow, WOW! Visiting from nyc and normally I don't put much stock in bagels outside the city. This place was easily up there with Rollin Bagel and Bagel Bob's. Tippy top. I got an everything bagel with strawberry sage cream cheese, absolute flavor town. Loved the massive chonks of sea salt and toasted caraway, and the corn flour bottom side worked SO WELL. An actual improvement on the NY bagel. The cashier made the cream cheese fresh and wow does that sage follow the strawberry well. I'm still baffled at finding a top 5 bagel outside the city. A little gem in this neighborhood. We got there when it seemed to be quiet--before 8am on a Monday morning. There was no line at all. When we walked in, I have to be honest, the menu was a little overwhelming but we made it. We got the local sausage, egg and cheddar on a sesame bagel and the Bolt. Both bagels were solid. I liked how it was made right then and there. The menu shows you all of the items that are locally sourced which is great. The main highlights-- the local sausage and the Bolt. Willows undoubtedly knows their audience: college students of the Hill section looking to unpack their night on the town before. The menu boasts innovative toppings like marinated tofu and vegan lox. The question is can they also walk the walk? The bagel itself was OKAY, we are in Vermont after all, away from the highly regarded NYC/NJ bite. The bagel was slightly overcooked and the salt crystals were too large. I ordered my bagel with chipotle mayo on it, while I could visually see that it was on the sandwich, my taste buds thought differently. Willows bagels is an authentic bagel experience from when you walk in the door. People line the walls on a weekend morning, a testament to their popularity around the Burlington area. The staff is busy, and this can reflect in the outcome of your order. Today, we ordered 3 bagels and they missed the mark. One was missing an egg, and another's cream cheese was falling off the bagel bread itself. Best bagels in town and always super quick! But PLEASE bring back the marinated carrots for the Rusko's Laux. Whatever the weird imitation product is you subbed in recently may be more like real lox, but it's not good. As a vegan I've noticed more and more local restaurants swapping in processed products where they used to have homemade alternatives (Folino's vegan cheese, for example), and it's getting harder and harder to find good places to eat. They're some of the friendliest staff I've ever met, they're open early enough that I can go before work, their coffee is consistently good and they have a huge selection of Yerbas. Importantly, they have a LOT of vegan and veggie-friendly options (recommend the faux carrot "laux" and the scallion vegan cream cheese), and have consistently just been such a great way to start my morning or get out and about on my lunch break. This location doesn't have any indoor dining, but there are a number of picnic tables available for use, which is particularly nice on a warm day. Rufus' Steak and Eggs (On a Cheddar Jalapeño Chive Bagel) - Really liked this one. The roast beef and banana peppers were great, and the bagel was awesome. I highly recommend the cheddar jalapeño bagel. I would definitely order this one again, though there are so many good options here. Willow's offers some amazing bagels and cream cheese offerings. I have never seen so many varieties of homemade cream cheese! Like, where else have you ever seen cannoli, chocolate chip brownie, roasted red pepper parmesan cream cheeses??? The first two I would like to just eat with a spoon. Yum! They have vegan cream cheese options, too. They do these amazing bagel sandwiches that are copious. I got the Lox, which of course is with smoked salmon and the typical red onion, and capers. They use scallion cream cheese versus plain and add fresh tomato. Delicious and bursting with ingredients. They also have these bagel bombs of the day, which are bagels stuffed with different ingredients before they are baked. They sound amazing. The day I was there they were stuffed with cream cheese, so I opted for the sandwich instead. They have coffee, CBD shots for coffee, juice. A small, but nice seating area inside and a couple of picnic tables outside. Free wifi, too, so a great place to come and work. Awesome service. I will be back often. read more

Best and biggest lox and cream cheese bagel I've ever had, and I've had them all. A bit pricey at over $12.00 a sandwich, though, but if you're splurging, this is the place to go. Get there early, though, because it'll soon be so filled up with college kids still in their pajamas that you won't be able to move. Seating is terrible--I think there's two stools and an afterthought counter against their picture window which overlooks three or four large picnic table outside which, when it's cold, are uninhabitable. Young lady with a bandana and belly shirt gives attitude " saying I'll take your order outside". I kindly stated that "I have been waiting there and you have all continued to keep talking". This girls response "I can take your order outside". She was very PASSIVE AGRESSIVE AND RUDE WITH COMPLETE ATTITUDE. Got 2 almond maple lattes and 2 breakfast sandwiches. Lattes were the best maple lattes we've had. Breakfast sandwiches were huge, bagels tasted VERY fresh. Loved that you could pick from so many options! (Much more fun than your standard NJ options - bacon, sausage, pork roll, egg, American or cheddar, ha.) Bit pricey but the staff was super nice. Online ordering was really easy to manage. Love that they're taking care of their staff by only doing phone/online ordering right now. Worth the extra couple dollars! read more

The bagels are delicious- I'm a big fan of both the poppy & sesame. There are multiple kinds of vegan cream cheese, vegan cheese slices, hummus, vegan Mayo, sausage, and lox. There are so many other tasty add-ons too like pickled veggies, grilled brussel sprouts, various types of greens, and hash browns! This is so cute and was priced not to bad. The staff was super kind and it was cozy inside. I got the willows blend medium roast coffee and put some oat milk in it and it was good! I also got 2 bagel bombs I got both sausage egg and cheese and they were out and a bit cold I wish I asked for it to be heated but it was still really good and I definitely recommend it! I was excited to find a vegan lox bagel out in the wild, but the miso-marinated carrots--while perfectly good--were nothing in any way approaching lox in flavor. I've made more smoky lox-like carrots at home. The sandwich was okay, but in no way reminiscent of a lox bagel. Bolt sandwich was also fine I'm told, nothing to write home about. read more
