As I'm reading these reviews, I can see I wasn't the only one who was turned away. I had a simple pinched nerve in my neck and shoulder, and affliction as old as dirt itself, and they manipulated my symptoms and what came out of my mouth until they didn't have to treat me. And then told me to go to the ER. My doctor, the one with the degree, suggested that place knowing full well what was wrong with me. From what I see here, not wanting to work and wanting to go home seems to be their only goal here. It's a shame because an orthopedic urgent Care is a good idea, however it needs to be staffed with the right people. Ones who want to help, and are happy to do their job. read more

This place also has an MRI imaging service. I have piercings, yes. Some I cannot take out without going to a Piercer. HOWEVER, they are TITANIUM STEEL. NOT AFFECTED BY MAGNETS. I have had MRIs done in top hospitals in New York. Never had an issue. Here? They refused to do it for me. I explained to them that titanium steel is not attracted to even the strongest magnets. They won't affect imaging. Do they not understand the basics of chemistry? I think not. I was getting it done for my knee. Not my skull (although I had an MRI of my brain with my piercings before without issue in NY). Bad enough I had a $200 copay. If you have any piercings, never come here. Horrible. read more

Hi I don't get it I had no problem here I'm still going here. The office runs like any other office, the waiting time was fine and the doctors were absolutely fine. And I've been here more than once already. And having the drop in place for injury next door is fantastic, having the MRI right there was great and the physical therapy's right there. I don't know what else anybody could want. I think the only thing that gets me crazy is the construction I kept walking in the wrong place because it wasn't all blocked off. But that's progress for you I get this place a thumbs up read more

Tore a muscle in my shoulder. As I was sitting in the room, I can hear the Dr. yelling to someone to tell the people to go home they are late are he is not going to see them. They would need to reschedule. Than as he walked into the room looked only at the x-ray that they took not the MRI I went for which shows the tear, proceeds to tell me that he will not due surgery on me because I was too old. I was referred to Dr. Tracy by my family physician. Dr. Tracy is a ghost Doctor, meaningless the only time I ever saw him was my initial visit after the surgery and then when he signed off on me being OK. I had a superior capsular reconstructive surgery on my right shoulder. Which I wasn't I still can't raise my arm! When I explained this to Dr. Tracy, he stated "you may never get to use your right arm again" well this is my dominant hand and I should've been told this before I went in wasted my time and recoup on this surgery because I couldn't pick up my hand before the surgery after surgery I can't pick it up now. Other thing that I found strange is that Dr. Tracy only ordered one initial visit of PT! Are use my own judgment since my insurance is paying and I went for three months and they help me immensely. Horrible experience from start to finish. Unprofessional, dysfunctional, incompetent. Nobody is in charge and it shows. Nobody smiles and everyone is miserable. Not only is the office experience awful, surgical care is just as bad. There is NO surgical preparation - NONE. This led to a 9 hour wait for a 20 minute surgery. There is also NO surgical follow up - NONE. You could die and they would not know or care. And just try to call - nobody will EVER call you back. How is this place still there. I went to the walk-in clinic. Please make sure you are paid up with any past procedures in past. They will turn you away just like they did me cause I had past amount from 14 years ago for $80. I am out on disability and could not afford at that time to pay them. So they told me sorry we can't help you! I was in terrible pain with my lower back down to my foot. I said could u bill me for that amount cause I don't have the cash on me now? They said nope we need moneys now or we can't help you. So they turn me away.....but the office lady did tell me to have a good day so guess that deserves a one star rating. read more

Not sure why everyone else wrote poor reviews..I had 5 star experience! From check in to check out very professional, all the staff from the main office, xray techs, doctors and assistants make my visit seamless and effortless. Staff was very knowledgeable and explained in detail each step throughout the visit. Thank you Mr. Hensel and Dr. Jordon! Not that I'm looking forward to ACL surgery but I would not hesitate recommending and returning back to this facility. read more

I would advise anyone who is looking for a specialist to stay away from Scranton Ortho. They are more concerned with volume of patients ( money ) then helping people. Everything is wonderful until they do the procedure or operation, then you just become a nuisance. You have to deal with absolute nasty nurses and staff that couldn't care less about your pain or condition. I have had to sit ( after having a L5-S1 spine fusion ) in their waiting room for an hour or more for almost every appointment. Then only to have the Doctor tell me he has no idea what is wrong and to come back IN SIX MONTHS! I finally moved on to another group of doctors and couldn't be happier. read more

Went here after fracturing my foot in a 'slip and fall' accident. The woman at the desk asked if I had insurance. I said yes. Then she asked where this accident happened. When I told her that I twisted my ankle in a public parking garage, the first thing out of her mouth was: " Are you filing a lawsuit?" I told her that MY FOOT IS BROKEN. THE ER SENT ME HERE. I CAN'T WALK. A LAWSUIT IS NOT THE ISSUE. I NEED TO BE SEEN BY A DOCTOR! She grumbled, rolled her eyes in disgust, copied my insurance card and took my info. After the doctor looked at my x-ray, he unwrapped my obviously broken foot, he looks at me, says nothing, POKES my bruised, swollen PAINFUL. BECAUSE. IT'S. BROKEN foot, walks out of the room, returns after 10 minutes than wraps my foot up with the same Ace Bandage! Tells me to come back the next day! When I was leaving the same woman asks me AGAIN if I'm filing a lawsuit! Annoyed, I asked her why. She tells me that if I am thinking of suing, that I must SELF-PAY and would be reimbursed IF I WON THE LAWSUIT.... WHAAAA???? I told her to stop asking about a lawsuit. The reason is ridiculous. Self-paying is stupid if you have insurance and STOP ASKING ME! Seems suspicious..... read more

Just an awful feeling you get when you leave here. The front desk reception was very nice and professional. I ended up waiting an hour past my scheduled appointment to be seen after already waiting 2 months until they could "fit me in." All that waiting amounted to a 15 minute "doctor visit" where he definitely let me know he was too busy to be talking to me. I explained that I was having issues with my left hand and a severe tremor. He looked at it and did some kind of test that he mangled and said "oh well." What? He just stopped trying to diagnose it after that. He first said it was resting tremor and then said it wasn't. I don't want something to be wrong with me but clearly there is and he wasted 2 months of my time. I felt like asking for my $40 co-pay back. I paid $40 for some dude to look down and write the whole time and who stood in the door "answering" my questions because he had to get to his other patients so he could tell them they should just walk around on a torn ACL or some other nonsense. Now I have to find someone else and go through a whole process again to get a second opinion. Thanks, Obama read more

We are switching to another facility after wasting a month of our time. My husband tore his ACL... After our first visit here the dr ordered we get him a MRI.. We got the MRI but he wouldn't see us for another 3 weeks to read it. Once we come for the appointment that we waited hours for, the Dr tells us he tore his ACL and the meniscus... He tells my 25 year old husband that he doesn't need to fix his ACL and that people walk around with a torn ACL all the time but he definitely needs to fix the meniscus.. THEN he tells us he doesn't do ACL surgery and that's not his specialty.. He only "replaces knees in old people". Well it was pretty obvious when we made our appointment that my husband isn't an old man in need of a knee replacement! Thanks for wasting a month of our lives! We are taking our business to Geisinger. Also thank you for not giving us back our X-rays and destroying them without telling us. read more

The PA & MD on this day made me feel like they were to busy to even talk to me. I felt as though I was a number. I explained to the Doctor that I am unable to bend over to put my own sneakers on. I am working as a physical therapist assistant, how am I suppose to work like this?!? His answer was to give me anti inflammatory meds & there's no reason why I can't go back to work now. You should be ashamed of yourself. If I can't bend over how am I suppose to help geriatrics that have had strokes, heart attacks, amputees??? I have no use for this place... They schedule surgery and for get you exist... Then the morning of the surgery I arrive at 5:30 like requested just to sit... My anxiety got the best of me... Doctor conveniently forgot to order pain meds.... I was having a lumbar fusion... Asked the nurse for an Ativan for anxiety, that went no where... Then time to pre op... Still no pain meds... I can sit stand or lay down do to pain, and hey want to know why in so anxious and pissed off... The nurse tried for an hour to get the doctor on the phone to get an order... I was asked to stop taking aleve two week before my surgery... Yes, that's all I was taking for pain... Doctor shows up five minutes before I and scheduled for the surgery and says he can't do the surgery due to my anxiety. That I'm not ready for this major surgery, he said if my anxiety is this high now what is going to be like after... After wasting almost 3 hours at the hospital I walked out... Still never got pain meds.... If I were you I'd definitely look else where before going to Scranton orthopedics.... read more

Apparently, when you go in for a consultation you are automatically billed for 90 days worth of services but no one will give you this information until the 90 days is past. I called and canceled my follow up appointment and told the person I spoke to that I was canceling because I couldn't afford the appointment. It would have been nice to know that I already paid for this appointment and numerous other appointments that I did not know about. Also, they save the evening appointments for new suckers. Once you've paid for 90 days worth of services you are only allowed the appointments at inconvenient times. I have a full time job (8:30-4:30) but the only appointments available are before 3. SCAM!!!! My first appointment was an evening appointment but like I said they only save these appointments for new suckers that they can get in the door to pay for 90 days worth of inconvenient services that you don't know you've paid for already. read more
