This place is NOT a craft shop. Apparently they lean to the "scrapbook" side. So if you looking for craft items, don't waste your time. The best place to get actual craft items is at the Walmart, which has a really good craft section. The owner for some reason did not even mention Walmart as an option. Instead she advised I would have to go all the way to Waxahachie, Texas to the Hobby Lobby. This makes me believe she does not like Walmart for some reason because surely she knows what craft items they have. So I am also disappointed that I was mislead by her. read more

I was impressed with the store, it had a great selection and was priced right along what other scrapbooking specialty stores would be. The crop room was good size for the amount of people we had (7), but I'm afraid if there had been more of us we would of been very cramped. Any scrapbooker will tell you you need lots a room to spread out. The best thing about the retreat center were the beds! Continental breakfast was provided but be prepared for it to be cold cereal, milk, poptarts, juice and coffee. She does have a full kitchen (dishes, glasses, silverware and some small appliances) however no stove so the meals would have to be limited to crock pots or electric skillets and we had to bring our own ice in as well. Corsicana has a good variety of restaurants and fast food chains if you choose to do some meals in and some out like we did. One of the most major problems we had were the crickets, they were everywhere day and night. In the crop room in the showers/bathrooms and even in our beds! However night time it did seem to be more of a problem with them coming into the building. We showed Susie (the owner) where the crickets were coming in but we were basically told it was something that we were just going to have to deal with. I found that if we said anything that she thought was a complaint she got defensive about it. At times I felt like we were acting as pest control more than we were getting to work on our projects. I didn't pay money to scrapbook but then have to play exterminator! Susie likes to talk which was ok at times and like the last review she exspected us to really play up the fact that it was the best scrapbooking retreat center that we had ever been to AND any new person who happened upon her store she had to show them the retreat section. So we were exspected to play the game several times in the 4 days we were there. One thing I was impressed with is that if she had croppers there she tried to keep her store opened later than normal so we could shop if we found anything we needed that we didn't have to finish that special page. I hope Susie learns from reviews that are written and that she takes them to heart and makes the improvements that are suggested. If she does I think eventually it might be a pretty good scrapbook retreat location. BUT I might be afraid to try it a second time to find out! read more

I'm so sorry the ladies above had a bad time. I live a few miles away and this is the "Best Little Scrapbook Store in Texas!" I've gone to other stores in the area that don't have nearly the selection or the great prices. The owner is an enthusiastic lady who is willing to help in every way. She will demonstrate anything in her store for free and will even tell you if you need the product or not. She is definitely in the business of helping you scrapbook or make anything I've found on Pinterest! Crickets??? YES! This is a bad year for crickets, we had no winter so we have a bumper crop. I've even seen them at the door going into my doctors office and Whataburger. I'm sorry they had a bad experience with them. I can assure you the owner is concerned because I've heard her talking about it and the Orken man was there when I left today. This is a wonderful destination whether you're shopping or staying at the retreat. Crickets are seasonal. It would be a shame for this little bug to put her out of business since she has no control over Mother Nature. Friday nights are "Crop 'Til Midnight" nights and I'm here almost every Friday. We prepare a full meal in the kitchen. Her convection oven will cook anything you can cook in a regular oven. read more

I live 70 miles from Corsicana, but my friends and I schedule a three day retreat every 2-3 months. The store is large and well organized. I don't think I have ever looked for something I couldn't find or find something in place of it. The prices are good. There is plenty of room in the scrapping area. The beds are soft and the kitchen is well stocked; dishes, dishwasher, frig, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig, and cereal, etc. The retreat price is reasonable. We are already signed up for 2 more retreats this year. read more

this store is a great little scrapbooking store deep in the heart of texas! i don't live anywhere near here, but my family had some business to take care of in corsicana, so i dropped on by, cause i'm a major scrapbooking fan (yeah, can you tell here on yelp? that and getting my car washed, it seems) anyway... the store has lots of what you'd expect. a good selection at reasonable prices. they're the typical 'way over michael's/joann's" prices but that's what you expect in a dedicated scrap store. the thing i like about this store is that it's not ALL marriage/graduation/freaking baby. it's not too "cutesy" there are also some BIG discounts. when susie, the owner, wants to get rid of something, she's not above BLOWING it out. i got great papers (with glitter!) and cut outs and such for about 10¢ each! woo hoo! that all said, our friend susie is a MAJOR talker. while that's a good and bad thing (she's GREAT at advice and simple show-me type stuff) it's a turn off in that she seriously doesn't know when to quit. as a first-timer, it was a bit off putting... just let me shop... and spend my money, ya know? the location is fine... easy to find, LOTS of parking, and there are several nearby restaurants should you be scrapping there for hours and need a nibble break. no, i wasn't there that long, and frankly didn't care about the restaurants. but i learned that all from susie. :) read more

We had a blast here! No crickets as other reviews said. The scrap area had a well-lite room with large tables. There were 13 people and we all had a 6 ft table to ourselves. The shop doesn't advertise that they cook for you, so you have to bring food or go out. There is a grocery store right next door you can walk to. Also lots of restaurants or fast food shops that deliver. We all loved the beds! 2 rooms with 4 twin beds and 2 or 3 rooms with 2 twin beds. I really loved the shop being connected to the scrapping area. That is sooooo convenient to get exactly what you need without haveing to drive somewhere and taking up some of your valuable scrap time. Susie, the owner, is great. She will leave the store open late for us and also open up early. The price was great also. Overall, We gave it a 5 stars and 6 of us are going this week for a 4 day trip! I just had to let everyone know. This shop and retreat is a jewel deep in the heart of Texas. read more
