We have been customers of Scrub a Dub for 40 years! We are Scrub a Dub believers, enthusiasts, and loyalists. The nuts and bolts of the Chelsea Scrub a Dub tunnel car wash are very good; the quality of the (tunnel) car wash is very good, HOWEVER: (1) The Chelsea car wash is a high volume car wash/operation for Scrub a Dub. Commensurate with high volume, comes income and profitability, which, in my opinion, commands high levels of Scrub a Dub "management's attention," on-going maintenance, and efficiency. The latter is lacking at Scrub a Dub's Chelsea car wash, and has been on a downhill slide for several years. For example, why pay a lot of money for a car wash, to exit the car wash to a "pond/lake," that, as soon as your car exits the car wash, trashes your clean car? See the attached pictures of the pond/lake, at the exit of the tunnel car wash. This condition has existed for 3 years. How could that be?; (2) Speaking of maintenance, and monitoring systems, how could it be that the lights behind the car wash feature signs in the tunnel wash, are constantly burned out, and one can't tell what add-on their car is receiving, or the add-on that one asked not to receive? This, is, again, another sign of Scrub a Dub Chelsea's failed maintenance and monitoring (an Absentee Landlord!); (2) The self-service car wash bays are in a constant state of disrepair. For example, the other night, as is often the case, I went to apply pre-wash or pre-clean/soak to my car, and all I got was a minute of compressed air, no solution. This is a regular event, not an unusual occurrence. How could this be? I wonder, does Scrub a Dub's management, cycle through the car wash as "their customer would/does" to live the dream of their customer? After 1 minute of lost time on the meter, I came to the conclusion that I was not going to get pre-wash or pre-clean/soak. Then, to make matters worse, when I moved the dial to the wash cycle, the machine dispensed no soap. This is a regular event. In my opinion a sign of failed maintenance program, and an Absentee Landlord. This by the way, was after pulling into two prior car wash bays that had equipment that was broken or disassembled; (3) The "car mat clips" remain, often inoperable, over-used, and worn out. They do not support even the skinniest of car mats, including the most popular brand of car mats, Weathertech. The "car mat clips" are old, long ago in need of replacement. Maintenance? quality assurance? it does not exist; (4) The gangs, blaring music, trespassers are an ongoing liability to the Chelsea Scrub a Dub car wash; the staff (including Scrub a Dub's "Security"), entirely disregard unacceptable behaviors (like car wash bays that are occupied by thugs who are not washing their cars, blaring music, alleged music that is nothing but shouted expletives, etc). In my opinion, the Scrub a Dub Chelsea car wash needs regular visits and oversight be Scrub a Dub's best and brightest leadership and owners. read more

I was able to resolve... the best advice I can give is avoid the Chelsea location and contact corporate with any issues. Though it was not a timely resolution I was able to find middle ground eventually thanks to Alex and the corporate office. read more

I decided to try out this ScrubaDub about a year ago. At the time I just bought a new car and wanted to take advantage of ScrubaDub's free washes for a month promotion for new cars. This ScrubaDub is along an industrial section of Chelsea, not too far a drive from the airport. I came here early on a winter weekend morning and there was already a line of cars for the automated wash. The staff was very helpful in redeeming the new car promotion. Despite the long line the wait was less than 15 minutes. The quality of the wash was alright. There was still dirt on my rear bumper and trunk but the front of the car was nice and clean. I'm glad to hear they've reopened since the fire because they were closed for quite awhile. read more

I used this car wash twice and on the second visit, my rear windshield wiper fell off during the wash. I had just replaced the wiper two days prior to it falling off and the Volvo dealership charged $45 for it. So naturally i was a bit upset when it fell off... I mentioned this to the manger Santiago and he promptly took action to get it replaced. At first he got the wrong one in, but then took a picture of my vin and got the right one from the dealer. It had nothing to do with the wiper ($45) it had everything to do about doing the right thing. And Santiago did. So i became a fastpass member. Thanks Santiago. read more

Don't waste your time or money. The people were very kind and easy going, but the car wash itself was poor. I have an SUV, and half of my car was still dirty, like simple dust. I don't drive my car often, so I was shocked to see that it kept missing one side of my car. My operator controlling the car station, gave me anxiety he's commands were poor and getting on the car wash system was very nerve wrecking. I have a medium height Ford Transit XLT 350 so I use the bays. It's too bad they don't have monthly passes for us bigger cars. I feel a little alienated. they should have a program for the bigger cars considering we can't be going through the drive-thru. now onto my review! They're getting a one-star because I pulled into one bae put in my $3 and I usually start with the foam brush and it was broken and soap was spewing out of the hose and never getting to the end where the brushes therefore I wasted $3 and never got to clean my car. I then pull out and go into the next day and that hose is cracked but I figured maybe it's just a crack in the rubber and not the actual hose. This time I swiped my credit card and when I went to go use this hose it also was leaking soap and not getting to the brush I had to hold it in a specific position to even get some soap to the brush. I wasted of total of five minutes trying to MacGyver this brush so it works on my van. I did not have any more time to waste nor did I want to go look for an attendant and waste money on my card. Of course when you use your credit card it continues to charge you until you actually push the little button underneath the credit card. So I was charged for 16 minutes when honestly I should have only been charged for 10 because of that hose. I really wish I could get a credit for the money I was robbed by having equipment that is broken. And it wasn't just one Bay it was two bays !!! how do you expect us to come and give you our business when you don't even have equipment that works. I'm very disappointed and now I have to look for a new place to wash my oversized vehicle. Not a very happy customer !!! read more

The Chelsea location is pretty decent. I really like their new style and the unlimited monthly car wash for members. You get to wash your car up to three times a day for no extra cost. How awesome is that. The location also provides you with free towels to dry or extra dry your car, free spray to clean the exterior of your car. It's just amazing. Seamless and smooth operation of this new Scrub-A-Dub has faltered significantly over the past half a dozen washes forcing me to rewrite my review it's consistently does a worse job on my wheels then in the beginning and at 4999 a month this is now untenable, I previously had issue with the free vacuum provided to everybody including non Scrub-A-Dub customers adding to my wait times but now my tires are consistently dirty and the back of the vehicle is consistently missed certainly will be re-evaluating my membership plan and location of my frequent visits read more

The snow hit hard this past weekend and left my car looking like a hot mess. I came to Scrub a Dub and came out looking clean! I came during lunch break, just as a warning the lines do get pretty long for the tunnel. The self-serve wash zones seemed more like you can nab a spot but who wants to wash their own car when it's THIRTY DEGREES out and windy. Free vacuums, cloths, and spray bottles for cleaning your car exterior. Only thing was my front end did not really get washed nor the sideskirts!! I paid $13 for a Super Choice which includes some type of spray wax and underside cleaning. I was in and out in 30 minutes. read more

Washed my car at this location twice already. I am very happy with the facilities and services that they offer. There are numerous vacuuming and complementary rags and cleaner bottles for customer use. They also have cleaning product vending machines to give your car that little extra sparkle! 1.) No matter what time of day, you will wait for a vacuum, no matter how much you pay a month. 2.) After having a $40.00 a month subscription for 1 year, my vehicle was substantially damaged by the car wash after the wiper blade of the vehicle in front of me got entangled in the brush. After several visits, phone calls, etc Scrubadub refused to compensate me in any capacity for the repairs. 3.) After this whole debacle I had to cancel my credit card because they wouldn't allow me to cancel membership in person. I use to frequent the Brookline scrub a dub but this one is better. This location easily has the newest equipment of all the locations and the vacuums are (drumroll) FREE! The only downside to giving away free vacuums is that the lot becomes a bit of a clusterf@#% and it can be tricky to find a place to dry and detail. As I've said before, scrub a dub is truly worth it if you wash your car frequently and don't mind doing a little work - it is not full service. Their monthly unlimited wash program is the best deal in the business. read more
