My husband and I just returned from a week of diving with Scuba Du in Cozumel. It was a fantastic experience!!! The staff were all amazing but our guide Gabriel Nunez really made the trip special. We arrived strangers and left friends. Also, if you are staying at the Presidente, for around $5 pp per day Victor (my savior...lol) will pick up, rinse and return your equipment to the boat every morning. It is pretty much concierge diving and well worth the money. The crew were all friendly, safe and professional. They took great care of us (even offering fruit and cake on board). We dove every day, hired Gabriel as a private guide to take us deep on our last day, and did a night dive (which IMO is a must in Cozumel). We will definitely be back to dive with Gabriel and Scuba Du again!

We had an amazing experience. We did our 4 open water training dives with Gabriel Escalera. He was very patient and helped us get comfortable before, during, and after every dive. We also had Josua and Gabriel Jr as divemasters on separate days. Everyone we interacted with was great. We 100% recommend this team. We are so happy we found them for our first dives.

First class diving company! I have experience with Scuba Du from initial certification through Advanced and Nitrox. My two teen/adult age sons were also certified there. Collectively we have nearly 100 dives with Scuba Du. I have never encountered rude people who live on Cozumel so I won't go into how nice I think they are. Above all else they are professional and very safety conscious. Boats and equipment are in top shape and they communicate the processes and procedures very well. Their dive masters have a great deal of experience and know the island very well. I find them to be a very "crisp" and efficient team. If you want someone to "wing it" and go off script, this is not the company. But when my safety and my family's safety is involved, I want great execution and not spontaneity. Alfonso did most of our training. We liked him so much that we hired him later as a private dive-master. Alfonso was born on Cozumel and is a great representation of the Cozumel residents. If you are looking for a scuba company in Cozumel, you can't go wrong with these folks!

I chose Scuba Du because it has been there at the Presidente InterContinental Resort & Spa for a long time for its good reputation and their dock is located right there at the hotel. I stayed at the hotel, so it was super convenient for me. I did 2-tank morning dive on 2 days with them. On Wednesdays, the boat is scheduled to go to Santa Rosa Wall and Yucab. On Fridays, San Francisco Wall and Tormentos. The crew took very good care of us and the boat was nice and clean. I highly recommend Scuba Du. I'd definitely come back to dive with them. One thing they could improve is the communication between the dive shop and their reservation desk as well as organized system. I booked well in advance and paid via PayPal and received confirmation email. But when I reconfirmed right before my trip, they didn't have my reservation and I had to send them the proof. When I checked in with their desk at the lobby, I was asked if I paid already and had to show the proof of payment again. I saw two other parties having a difficult time verifying their reservations at the dive shop and the dock. So make sure you save your confirmation and reconfirm with them.

This was my first time with boat entry, open water warm dives, and I had the best time! The entire experience was great. Service: As this was part of a solo travel for me, I was in communication with the dive shop via WhatsApp to make sure that I was fully prepared. I felt very comfortable the entire time, and everything was explained clearly. All materials and great were prepped and ready for me upon arrival, and all staff members that I was interacting with were kind and welcoming. Experience: We did two dives, and had some discussion on the boat as to what we most wanted to see, to help determine the locations that we would travel to. We settled on Palancar Bricks for the first dive, and La Francesa for the second. There were 7 divers with 3 dive masters, so despite being a solo traveler, I felt like I had a ton of support. The overview of the dive sites before entry was great, because it primed me for some of the aquatic life that we would see. As my first warm water and coral reef dive, I can say that scuba diving is one of the great privileges of my life--I was overcome with emotion at seeing so much! Schools of small (young) fishes, corals, large organisms, sponges, nurse sharks, barracuda, a seahorse, a cozumel toad fish, giant parrot fish, and so many more! Special thanks to Captain Mono, Jorge, Juan, and Javi who led our trip. If I ever have the fortune of returning to Cozumel, I will absolutely return for more trips!

The guides were incredible, and diver to dive master ratio was 2.5 to 1, and best of all, they had parkas on board to keep us all warm. The only regret we have is it took so long to find them. In my opinion they are second to none on this amazing island. They have small, fast boats which gives you a personal concierge type service. They always have groups of 6 or less which we prefer. They leave early so in the morning you are usually the first group to the dive site which is a big deal. As a result you see the best stuff because it hasn't been disturbed and scared off by 20 other dive boats. They are also one of the few operations that go further south to some of the more remote dive sites like Colombia and Punta Sur. These are my favorite The staff is always incredibly accommodative and professional. Very thorough dive briefings and quite entertaining as well. If you have a trip planned to Cozumel, Scuba Tony is a no brainer

We booked a reef dive online and received a confirmation email stating there is a discount for cash…read morepayments and that credit card deposits will be refunded upon receipt of cash (see picture). The port was closed so we could not do the reef dive and switched to cenote diving. We had to pay the difference in cost between reef diving and cenote diving at the dive shop. What was not made clear is that there are ADDITIONAL fees for credit card payments at the dive shop, not discounts from the stated amount. Despite stating in the email "exchange rate for the Mexican peso will be set by Google's posted exchange rate on the day of payment", we had to pay at an exchange rate of 22 while the Google exchange rate for the day was 19.93. We paid an extra $29 because of this. Staff assured me that I could email for a refund in the amount we overpaid, but no one ever responded to my email. I reached out on whatsapp and was told I could return to the dive shop the following day with cash. When I arrived the following day with cash (which I pulled out from the ATM specifically for this purpose), Maria was extremely unprofessional and stated that my requests for a refund were "a nightmare" and that I could not pay in pesos but had to pay USD. She stated that if I paid in cash with pesos, it would be at the same 22 exchange rate. The diving itself was fine and our dive instructor was actually fantastic, but my interactions with Maria and their unclear (and seemingly dishonest) payment practices left a bad taste in my mouth. Knowing what I know now, I would not have booked with Manta Divers.

We came here to visit the sea turtle sanctuary as part of our tour through Cancun adventures…read more The dive center itself is cute. They had bathrooms with showers as well as outdoor showers. I did not appreciate the requirement to wear a life jacket in shallow water to snorkel with the turtles. The amount of people in the snorkeling areas was way too much. People were kicking up sand, flailing in the water and pushing people (me) to get in front of where any turtles were. It was extremely disappointing. The only reasons I got any photos was because I have a GoPro on a stick. I would NOT do the turtle thing again. I would however go scuba diving. That seemed like they took out small groups on small boats so it wouldn't be overcrowded.

The boats are small, with room for 8 or 9 divers. Back roll entries are required, as these boats aren't large enough for a dive platform. The boat captains were very good and able to deal with both calm and rough water efficiently. They also helped carry gear when needed, and helped divers deal with gear as they got on and off the boats. I observed ADS dive staff working with student divers, and they seemed patient and thorough (I'm a dive instructor myself, so I can recognize when other dive pros are doing a good job). Safety was a high priority. Overall, a great experience and we were glad to have a chance to dive with Blue Experience Diving and the Akumal Dive Shop.

Coconut Scuba - If you are a first time scuba diver,…read moreuncertified as myself, and looking for an unreal and unique experience - this is perfect! My friend and I bought a discovery tour that included : - 1 lesson in the pool - 1 dive at the museum (Isla Mujeres) - 1 dive at the coral reef (Isla Mujeres) - boat ride (to the spots, but still nice) The instructors are so incredibly patient and kind! Personally, I had Manuel and Ulysses and they were personable, thoughtful, funny, and easy to understand. My friend and I felt extremely lucky to have such guidance in a first time experience! The layout of the day definitely took longer than we thought. The day started at 10, but they needed to drive us down to the new location. After our lesson, we actually waited an hour for a the certified divers to arrive so that we could all leave on the boat together. That did not bother myself and my friend, we just took a nap in the sun! But for anyone trying to have set plans afterwards, be mindful that you won't arrive back to port until 5:30/6pm. My friend and I were STARVING afterwards, having eaten light to help with nausea that can come with diving. I would recommend bringing a snack for AFTER your final dive, but eat fruit or granola and yogurt beforehand. The museum was actually prettier than I thought! I had believed that the museum was somewhat of a waste, but it was beautiful due to the wildlife that has taken root among the statues. I had never scuba dove, but had snorkeled and done snuba. If you have done these activities - you will feel right at home ! My friend had done none of these and caught on super quickly as well! The reef was spectacular. We saw many bright fish including the parrotfish! Yellow, blue, reds and orange, and even a small pufferfish. We saw a turtle once we got back onto the boat - timing is everything! If you are mindful of all the different coral and types of underwater sea life you can truly appreciate the dive regardless. You enter a new world and the time flies by as you soar over the reef. My friend made a comment that isn't as saturated with color, and I do think that is a good point. Don't expect neon edited colors, although some purple's did pop, as this is a natural place! Overall, I'd return to dive with coconut divers, and would recommend them to a friend.

I felt so comfortable and really came out of the course a better diver because of him! The rest of the crew was just as amazing and caring. Ulysses is a very skilled master who helped everyone really enjoy themselves. I was able to watch him with beginners doing a discovery during my cert dives and he was kind, patient, and helped them have the best time! My brother and sister in law also did their advanced cert with him and they had nothing but great things to say. Ricardo was a great captain and Poncho took incredible photos underwater for us! We saw so many amazing things and creatures during each dive (wreck, reefs, and underwater museum) and our favorite was the night dive! We saw a ton of rays at the wreck, spotted a shark, barracuda, eels, octopus, and many turtles, lobsters and crabs during the night dive. We had the best adventures even when the waters were a bit choppy because of the winds, we always felt very safe. They were so flexible and willing to take us out because we almost couldn't go due to the harbor closing because of high winds. They communicated constantly with us and when they found out the good news it would open, just later that day, they offered and we jumped at the opportunity to do the dives we planned! We stayed at the Riu Palace Peninsula and it was literally a couple minute walk across the street. We'll never forget our experiences with the crew and will definitely be back for more when come back to Cancun! Highly recommend for all levels and ages.
