Excellent scuba dive center that is conveniently located on site of Intercontinental Presidente Cozumel. They arranged a refresher course and a discover Scuba lesson for my son so we could dive together and then a 2 tank dive at two coral reef locations. They were able to look me up in the computer and found my certification online and got me signed up right away so we were in the water the very next day. They lent us all equipment needed and the instruction was thorough and the instructor was kind and helped my son who was a first time scuba diver. It was a proud father son moment watching my boy check one off the bucket list to scuba dive for the first time and we got to scuba side by side. This is a solid dive center and the prices are reasonable. Can't get better than this in terms of location and convenience. 5 stars and a muchas gracias to the staff, instructor and crew. read more

My partner and I and his 2 teenage sons just got back from Cozumel, and we had an incredible experience with Scuba Du! It was the highlight of our trip for sure. We were there during Hurricane Beryl so we almost didn't get to dive, but we were able to get an instructional beach dive in before the hurricane hit. And luckily Hurricane Beryl passed by the island relatively quickly so that only a day after the hurricane hit, the harbor master was allowing boats back into the water. We had 2 instructors for the 4 of us. Alfonso worked with the boys, and Kris worked with my partner and me. Both guys were amazingly patient, kind, and even very funny! I had a moment during the 1st open water dive where I started to feel scared, but Kris helped me to calm down and continue with the dive. And then during our 2nd dive (down to 50 ft), we saw manta ray, barracuda, and even a nurse shark. It was everything we could have wished for. Learning to scuba dive has been a lifelong dream of mine, and diving in Cozumel is indescribably beautiful. I felt like I was in an aquarium, there was so much life everywhere. We are going to use our 2 open water dives we did with Scuba Du towards our instruction for full scuba certification. We will 100% go back to Cozumel to dive again, and we will absolutely dive with the great people at Scuba Du when we return! Thanks for everything, Alfonso and Kris! We have seen so much sea life because of their knowledge of where to find things. They have an option to leave your dive gear with them and a staff member cleans it all keeps it until the next dive. My husband and I just returned from a week of diving with Scuba Du in Cozumel. It was a fantastic experience!!! The staff were all amazing but our guide Gabriel Nunez really made the trip special. We arrived strangers and left friends. Also, if you are staying at the Presidente, for around $5 pp per day Victor (my savior...lol) will pick up, rinse and return your equipment to the boat every morning. It is pretty much concierge diving and well worth the money. The crew were all friendly, safe and professional. They took great care of us (even offering fruit and cake on board). We dove every day, hired Gabriel as a private guide to take us deep on our last day, and did a night dive (which IMO is a must in Cozumel). We will definitely be back to dive with Gabriel and Scuba Du again! read more

First class diving company! I have experience with Scuba Du from initial certification through Advanced and Nitrox. My two teen/adult age sons were also certified there. Collectively we have nearly 100 dives with Scuba Du. I have never encountered rude people who live on Cozumel so I won't go into how nice I think they are. Above all else they are professional and very safety conscious. Boats and equipment are in top shape and they communicate the processes and procedures very well. Their dive masters have a great deal of experience and know the island very well. I find them to be a very "crisp" and efficient team. If you want someone to "wing it" and go off script, this is not the company. But when my safety and my family's safety is involved, I want great execution and not spontaneity. Alfonso did most of our training. We liked him so much that we hired him later as a private dive-master. Alfonso was born on Cozumel and is a great representation of the Cozumel residents. I chose Scuba Du because it has been there at the Presidente InterContinental Resort & Spa for a long time for its good reputation and their dock is located right there at the hotel. I stayed at the hotel, so it was super convenient for me. I did 2-tank morning dive on 2 days with them. On Wednesdays, the boat is scheduled to go to Santa Rosa Wall and Yucab. On Fridays, San Francisco Wall and Tormentos. The crew took very good care of us and the boat was nice and clean. I highly recommend Scuba Du. I'd definitely come back to dive with them. One thing they could improve is the communication between the dive shop and their reservation desk as well as organized system. I booked well in advance and paid via PayPal and received confirmation email. But when I reconfirmed right before my trip, they didn't have my reservation and I had to send them the proof. When I checked in with their desk at the lobby, I was asked if I paid already and had to show the proof of payment again. I saw two other parties having a difficult time verifying their reservations at the dive shop and the dock. So make sure you save your confirmation and reconfirm with them. read more

Amazing experience with this dive operation. I have been with many resorts and their dive shops. Scuba Du is on site at the intercontinental Presidente resort and these guys are spectacular. This was during Covid and their attention to sanitation, obeying government regulations and ensuring a wonderful dive experience was perfect. Gabo (Gabriel), Joshua, Sandra, Willie and all of their staff and dive masters and instructors were the most professional I have experienced. They took care of everything and clearly respected safety first. Equipment was all very new appearing and in excellent condition. Had 5 days of 2 tank dives and of course the dive sites were spectacular but they would go above and beyond with identification, education and a fantastic time. I can not recommend them enough and would look no further as they can pick you up at most resorts. Do not look anywhere else. read more

We did a 5-day 2-tank dive trip with Scuba Du (they are on-site at Hotel El Presidente, so it makes the dive very convenient). We decided to get a private dive-master since our teen son got certified recently and was only 5 dives old. Ivan, our dive-master was fantastic - by the end of 10 dives on this trip, our 15-year old was conserving more air and learned to control his bouyancy much better. The dives themselves are fabulous - I don't think one can go wrong with dives in Cozumel - fantastic visibility, healthy coral reefs, gentle to slightly strong current but drift diving makes this truly enjoyable. Scuba Du has good gear - we rented all of ours, comparable prices and knowledgeable, a helpful boat crew and divemasters. They provided fresh fruit and cake during our surface intervals. I am so happy that my dive experience in Cozumel was amazing and this was in large part due to the Scuba Du company who took us out on the diving excursion. Diving in Cozumel, Mexico has been on my list of things I really wanted to do for a long time. It is one of the top places in the world to dive and see so many incredible species of fish in clear blue waters. The dive center is very conveniently located at the Presidente Intercontinental Resort in Cozumel and we walked right from the room to the dive center where the boat was waiting to take us out. The whole staff was very safe, knowledgeable, and responsive to my emails and questions. This is really important because great customer service makes you feel like the company really cares about you and your experience, and with diving this is even more important because it is safety related. I felt comfortable and confident that the guides were going to show us the most amazing diving spots and they sure did! I did several dives with the company and they are very punctual and organized. You can tell this business operates on passion and experience when it comes to diving. I was also able to go on a private boat tour with Scuba Du for a leisure experience and they took us to some of the most beautiful beaches in Cozumel. I have just finished a 5 day dive trip to Cozumel and went on seven dives with ScubaDu. The staff are just outstanding, quickly understanding your personal strengths and weaknesses in diving and helping you with whatever is necessary. The dive sites were beautiful: Palencar Cave, Palencar Gardens and Columbia were just great! We also went on a night dive at a site called Paradise which was a memorable experience! The dive masters and boat operators were very careful with our gear including expensive cameras. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating, offering fruit between dives and fresh water as needed. A great experience and I highly recommend them. I'm 60 and have made about 1,000 dives over 24 years of scuba diving. ScubaDu is definitely better than most and might be one of the best. read more

I just completed my PADI Open Water certification here in Cozumel with Scuba Du and I cannot say enough about the quality and convenience of the experience. If you are interested in getting certified to dive, come and stay at the Intercontinental El Presidente in Cozumel and use Scuba Du. The dive operation is onsite at the resort. We did our confined water dives off the resort beach and once the training portion was complete, these turned into real dives (in about 20 feet of water) covering the great snorkeling areas right off the shoreline of the resort. On the 3rd day of training, we simply joined one of their dive boats for a final exam visit to a nearby wall and another reef dive at 55-60". Cozumel has fantastic novice and intermediate terrain. We added another 2-tank dive on day 4 after completing our certification and so got 6 dives in to hone our skills. Alphonso was our dive instructor and he was terrific. Knowledgeable, attentive, extremely safety-conscious, he covered key topics with repetition and made us do simple tasks perfectly on each iteration. Scuba Du has adequate equipment, but I would have preferred an option to rent a dive computer. The boat we used was large and powerful which makes a difference in all the chop created by the many dive boats plying the same areas of the Cozumel dive sites. My little family (5 of us ages 47 to 14) was lucky enough to do 4 days of 2 tank diving with Scuba Du. We loved them. Boats were clean. The equipment they provided worked great. The dive masters were fun and kind and safe and patient. We knew we were in great hands. Gabo was fantastic and took time to make sure we were comfortable under water. These were our first dives after certification and we met many other more experienced divers who loved the dives we did as well. I had quite a few problems with this organization. They did not have me on their roster even though I reserved well in advance. The first three days I had to argue with the team about diving with more experienced divers. I have 1000+dives and they kept putting me with people with minimum experience including a child who was restricted to 60 feet. It was awful to have to fight for something that is so simple to arrange and i felt awful telling people that i didn't want to dive with them. I should not have been put in that stuation After 3 days they finally put me with similar divers. I give the dive masters credit though, they managed to rearrange things on the boat so that it worked out well. Miguel and Mike we're fabulous dive masters! Victor made diving simple and carefree with the care of my personal gear. He washed and transported it everyday. Great guy! Great service! My one other gripe is that I asked on day one to be notified about night dives and they NEVER did that. They had several but never gave me notice. I will say that other than the need to fight for experienced divers and lack of night dive all else went smoothly and safely. read more
