Wow, what an amazing experience! We booked the Try Scuba Dive for first time divers. This 4 hour program starts in shallow water practicing basic skills: equalizing your ear pressure, clearing water from your mask, regulator recovery, and hand signals. The instructors are experienced and patient. Once successfully completed, we did 2 dives at different locations along the Cozumel coral reef and go underwater as low as 40 feet. The instructors point out some beautiful marine life. We saw them take out a group of 6 who looked very experienced so Scuba Life supports all levels of divers. We loved our scuba diving experience and highly recommend Scuba Life Cozumel. Booking was super easy online or email/call. Scuba Life was super responsive and accommodating with all our questions. We made a special trip from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel to scuba - given the timing of the ferries, we did the 2pm afternoon dive as we couldn't make the 9am morning dive (you need to arrive 40 minutes before to suit up). The marina is 3.7 miles south of the ferry so we took a taxi and you'll need to call one to come pick you up as they do not regularly wait at this private marina. Scuba Life takes out small groups (8 max divers in a boat) and we were lucky that it was just the 4 of us in our boat. We did not book a photographer in advance so the 2 photographers they use were already booked but we did bring our underwater Olympus Tough cameras and the instructors helped take some group photos. There is no restaurants/stores to buy any food or water and no ATM at the marina. Remember when booking that you cannot fly within 24h before or after scuba diving.

Blown away! Diving with Scuba Life Cozumel was an amazing experience! Out of the mind-numbing choices for dive operators, we chose Scuba Life Cozumel because of all the great reviews. We're so happy we did! Carly and Zoe helped us craft an epic 6-day, 17 dive schedule for our family. They handled everything expertly and were super responsive. Our dive masters, David and Diego, were so knowledgeable and friendly! I have never seen so much focus on making sure everyone's buoyancy was perfectly dialed-in. It makes such a huge difference. The whole Scuba Life team was fantastic. So well organized and helpful! Because their boats are limited to 8 guests, we got to select each dive site based on our interests, experience, conditions. Diving in such small groups is awesome. We are all good on air, so I loved that we could stay down for up to 70 minutes. It was bliss! All the operators have water and fruit after dives, and that's really nice. But Scuba Life takes it to a new level, adding Gatorade, cookies, towels, and warm parkas if you're cold. Their boats even have solar-heated, freshwater showers! I hope you get a chance to dive into paradise with these guys. We can't wait to come back!!!

Cozumel's Best Dive Team! If you've the good fortune to dive Cozumel, there's only one shop to consider, Scuba Life Cozumel. My second dive with this crew was as perfect as my first. Their website is super user friendly, informative providing all critical details and booking my Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) was a breeze. The dive was quickly confirmed post booking. The confirmation email had every detail needed including check-in time, location, directions to the shop, ferry instructions and timings from Playa del Carmen. In short, no detail was left to chance. You won't find a more fun, friendly, knowledgeable, and kind team. Carly checked me in within minutes, escorted the divers to the boat and introduced us to the team, David, my PADI Instructor, Diego a PADI Instructor and of course Marcelo, El Capitán, with a smile as bright as the Mayan sun and someone I consider my friend after my first dive. A special shout out to David! I was paired with a first-time diver. With a few under my belt, he realized I would simply need periodical checking of status and air level. My DSD partner was struggling to achieve and maintain level appearing a bit frightened. For the remainder of the first tank and entire second tank, he gently brought her to level and maintained her level guiding her the entire dive by allowing her to lightly grip his arm so she could comfortably experience the spotted eagle ray, skates, turtles, triggerfish, parrotfish, puffers, and a splendid display of corals including fan, brain and staghorn to name a few. It was one of the kindest things I've ever seen. Bravo David aka Noodles! You'll just need to dive with them to learn the nickname reason. I know this has been lengthy but when choosing a dive team many things must be considered. Scuba Life Cozumel has every aspect covered and is the nicest group of people you can meet. I recommend this dive shop without reservation!

Our friends booked my husband and I with scuba life during a 6 day trip to Cozumel. We dove for 3 days with SL and had different dive master/ captains for each day out. But all dive masters and captains were very knowledgeable and caring during all the dives. They were kind and made me feel comfortable. They took the time to take us to the best reefs. We were let down that they had to cancel the bull shark dive (since the sharks have been absent for a couple days). However, I respected this bc it would have been a bummer to go on the 6 am shark dive and not seen any sharks. They also gave us a refund. Great dive, great snacks, fresh water on board to shower, they handled all the tanks and equipment, and took us to the best secluded spots for our one hour surface time! I would def go with them again! FIVE STARS!!!!

My initial experience was with Oscar, who was taking me through my AOW certification. Unreal experience, as I was able to get certified by completing my first two dives at Cozumel on Day 1, and my final three dives at Cenotes El Pit and Dos Ojos on Day 2. I appreciated the diverse diving experiences I had over the two days and Blue Life's communication, professionalism, and kindness. Blue Life had all my gear set-up for me when I arrived, walked me through the dives we'd be completing, refreshed on hand signals and diving best practices, which was exactly what I needed. Even though cenote diving was new to me, I felt very safe with Oscar as he helped me adjust all of my gear both before and during the dive. Food and transportation were included in the price and I was very thankful that everything was prepared for me. I went back to Blue Life a couple days later after Oscar recommended that I check out C-53, a sunken ship off the coast of Cozumel. This time I was with Tomas, who was equally as friendly and communicative about our dive plans. Not only did we see the sunken ship, but we also got a glance of a submarine that was piloting around the area! Tomas offered a great balance of respecting my autonomy as a diver but ensuring that I felt comfortable navigating this new environment. I will be back, thank you Blue Life!

Gaby was quick to respond to our questions before booking, which made the process easy and reassuring. A special thank you to our instructor, Thomas, who was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and professional. His personalized instruction helped us become more confident and capable divers, and we feel very lucky to have had him guide us throughout all three days. Thank you, Blue Life - we'll definitely be back!

The port was closed so we could not do the reef dive and switched to cenote diving. We had to pay the difference in cost between reef diving and cenote diving at the dive shop. What was not made clear is that there are ADDITIONAL fees for credit card payments at the dive shop, not discounts from the stated amount. Despite stating in the email "exchange rate for the Mexican peso will be set by Google's posted exchange rate on the day of payment", we had to pay at an exchange rate of 22 while the Google exchange rate for the day was 19.93. We paid an extra $29 because of this. Staff assured me that I could email for a refund in the amount we overpaid, but no one ever responded to my email. I reached out on whatsapp and was told I could return to the dive shop the following day with cash. When I arrived the following day with cash (which I pulled out from the ATM specifically for this purpose), Maria was extremely unprofessional and stated that my requests for a refund were "a nightmare" and that I could not pay in pesos but had to pay USD. She stated that if I paid in cash with pesos, it would be at the same 22 exchange rate. The diving itself was fine and our dive instructor was actually fantastic, but my interactions with Maria and their unclear (and seemingly dishonest) payment practices left a bad taste in my mouth. Knowing what I know now, I would not have booked with Manta Divers.

I did not appreciate the requirement to wear a life jacket in shallow water to snorkel with the turtles. The amount of people in the snorkeling areas was way too much. People were kicking up sand, flailing in the water and pushing people (me) to get in front of where any turtles were. It was extremely disappointing. The only reasons I got any photos was because I have a GoPro on a stick. I would NOT do the turtle thing again. I would however go scuba diving. That seemed like they took out small groups on small boats so it wouldn't be overcrowded.

The boats are small, with room for 8 or 9 divers. Back roll entries are required, as these boats aren't large enough for a dive platform. The boat captains were very good and able to deal with both calm and rough water efficiently. They also helped carry gear when needed, and helped divers deal with gear as they got on and off the boats. I observed ADS dive staff working with student divers, and they seemed patient and thorough (I'm a dive instructor myself, so I can recognize when other dive pros are doing a good job). Safety was a high priority. Overall, a great experience and we were glad to have a chance to dive with Blue Experience Diving and the Akumal Dive Shop.

My friend and I bought a discovery tour that included : - 1 lesson in the pool - 1 dive at the museum (Isla Mujeres) - 1 dive at the coral reef (Isla Mujeres) - boat ride (to the spots, but still nice) The instructors are so incredibly patient and kind! Personally, I had Manuel and Ulysses and they were personable, thoughtful, funny, and easy to understand. My friend and I felt extremely lucky to have such guidance in a first time experience! The layout of the day definitely took longer than we thought. The day started at 10, but they needed to drive us down to the new location. After our lesson, we actually waited an hour for a the certified divers to arrive so that we could all leave on the boat together. That did not bother myself and my friend, we just took a nap in the sun! But for anyone trying to have set plans afterwards, be mindful that you won't arrive back to port until 5:30/6pm. My friend and I were STARVING afterwards, having eaten light to help with nausea that can come with diving. I would recommend bringing a snack for AFTER your final dive, but eat fruit or granola and yogurt beforehand. The museum was actually prettier than I thought! I had believed that the museum was somewhat of a waste, but it was beautiful due to the wildlife that has taken root among the statues. I had never scuba dove, but had snorkeled and done snuba. If you have done these activities - you will feel right at home ! My friend had done none of these and caught on super quickly as well! The reef was spectacular. We saw many bright fish including the parrotfish! Yellow, blue, reds and orange, and even a small pufferfish. We saw a turtle once we got back onto the boat - timing is everything! If you are mindful of all the different coral and types of underwater sea life you can truly appreciate the dive regardless. You enter a new world and the time flies by as you soar over the reef. My friend made a comment that isn't as saturated with color, and I do think that is a good point. Don't expect neon edited colors, although some purple's did pop, as this is a natural place! Overall, I'd return to dive with coconut divers, and would recommend them to a friend.

My brother and sister in law also did their advanced cert with him and they had nothing but great things to say. Ricardo was a great captain and Poncho took incredible photos underwater for us! We saw so many amazing things and creatures during each dive (wreck, reefs, and underwater museum) and our favorite was the night dive! We saw a ton of rays at the wreck, spotted a shark, barracuda, eels, octopus, and many turtles, lobsters and crabs during the night dive. We had the best adventures even when the waters were a bit choppy because of the winds, we always felt very safe. They were so flexible and willing to take us out because we almost couldn't go due to the harbor closing because of high winds. They communicated constantly with us and when they found out the good news it would open, just later that day, they offered and we jumped at the opportunity to do the dives we planned! We stayed at the Riu Palace Peninsula and it was literally a couple minute walk across the street. We'll never forget our experiences with the crew and will definitely be back for more when come back to Cancun! Highly recommend for all levels and ages.
