I had the most amazing single-day dive trip with ScubaLife! For context, I only just became certified a few months ago, and the only dives I had completed were my checkout dives for that certification (in cold water, and shore entry!). This was my first time with boat entry, open water warm dives, and I had the best time! The entire experience was great. Service: As this was part of a solo travel for me, I was in communication with the dive shop via WhatsApp to make sure that I was fully prepared. I felt very comfortable the entire time, and everything was explained clearly. All materials and great were prepped and ready for me upon arrival, and all staff members that I was interacting with were kind and welcoming. Experience: We did two dives, and had some discussion on the boat as to what we most wanted to see, to help determine the locations that we would travel to. We settled on Palancar Bricks for the first dive, and La Francesa for the second. There were 7 divers with 3 dive masters, so despite being a solo traveler, I felt like I had a ton of support. The overview of the dive sites before entry was great, because it primed me for some of the aquatic life that we would see. As my first warm water and coral reef dive, I can say that scuba diving is one of the great privileges of my life--I was overcome with emotion at seeing so much! Schools of small (young) fishes, corals, large organisms, sponges, nurse sharks, barracuda, a seahorse, a cozumel toad fish, giant parrot fish, and so many more! I did 4 dives with Scuba Life 11/28/24 through 11/29/24, joined by two friends who got their scuba certifications. The guides were incredible, and diver to dive master ratio was 2.5 to 1, and best of all, they had parkas on board to keep us all warm. Wow, what an amazing experience! We booked the Try Scuba Dive for first time divers. This 4 hour program starts in shallow water practicing basic skills: equalizing your ear pressure, clearing water from your mask, regulator recovery, and hand signals. The instructors are experienced and patient. Once successfully completed, we did 2 dives at different locations along the Cozumel coral reef and go underwater as low as 40 feet. The instructors point out some beautiful marine life. We saw them take out a group of 6 who looked very experienced so Scuba Life supports all levels of divers. We loved our scuba diving experience and highly recommend Scuba Life Cozumel. Booking was super easy online or email/call. Scuba Life was super responsive and accommodating with all our questions. We made a special trip from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel to scuba - given the timing of the ferries, we did the 2pm afternoon dive as we couldn't make the 9am morning dive (you need to arrive 40 minutes before to suit up). The marina is 3.7 miles south of the ferry so we took a taxi and you'll need to call one to come pick you up as they do not regularly wait at this private marina. Scuba Life takes out small groups (8 max divers in a boat) and we were lucky that it was just the 4 of us in our boat. We did not book a photographer in advance so the 2 photographers they use were already booked but we did bring our underwater Olympus Tough cameras and the instructors helped take some group photos. There is no restaurants/stores to buy any food or water and no ATM at the marina. Remember when booking that you cannot fly within 24h before or after scuba diving. read more

This was our second time diving with Scuba Life in Cozumel. The staff and crew were amazing. The boats and equipment were well kept as well. Jorge, David, and Jimmy were great dive masters and guides on the dives. Super attentive when needed and overall fun guys to dive with. Oscar and Jaime were our captains and did amazing jobs. I've dove several different dive operators in Cozumel over several years and Scuba Life is right up there as one of the best I've been with. Dive Masters were all very attentive and conducted excellent safety briefings. They were excellent guides under the water as well spotting a variety of sea life both big and small that I had initially missed. Snacks were plentiful and fresh and lots of water and Gatorade to rehydrate after each dive. I only had 1 complaint, and that is because I am an old fart, lol, the ladder goes up and over the side of the boat, so it is a bit higher climb than a ladder off the back. But dont let that stop you from using this great operator, they will gladly take your tank and BC from you in the water to make the climb easier...I am just stubborn and did the climb in fully gear...lol. Blown away! Diving with Scuba Life Cozumel was an amazing experience! Out of the mind-numbing choices for dive operators, we chose Scuba Life Cozumel because of all the great reviews. We're so happy we did! Carly and Zoe helped us craft an epic 6-day, 17 dive schedule for our family. They handled everything expertly and were super responsive. Our dive masters, David and Diego, were so knowledgeable and friendly! I have never seen so much focus on making sure everyone's buoyancy was perfectly dialed-in. It makes such a huge difference. The whole Scuba Life team was fantastic. So well organized and helpful! Because their boats are limited to 8 guests, we got to select each dive site based on our interests, experience, conditions. Cozumel's Best Dive Team! If you've the good fortune to dive Cozumel, there's only one shop to consider, Scuba Life Cozumel. My second dive with this crew was as perfect as my first. Their website is super user friendly, informative providing all critical details and booking my Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) was a breeze. The dive was quickly confirmed post booking. The confirmation email had every detail needed including check-in time, location, directions to the shop, ferry instructions and timings from Playa del Carmen. In short, no detail was left to chance. You won't find a more fun, friendly, knowledgeable, and kind team. Carly checked me in within minutes, escorted the divers to the boat and introduced us to the team, David, my PADI Instructor, Diego a PADI Instructor and of course Marcelo, El Capitán, with a smile as bright as the Mayan sun and someone I consider my friend after my first dive. A special shout out to David! I was paired with a first-time diver. With a few under my belt, he realized I would simply need periodical checking of status and air level. My DSD partner was struggling to achieve and maintain level appearing a bit frightened. For the remainder of the first tank and entire second tank, he gently brought her to level and maintained her level guiding her the entire dive by allowing her to lightly grip his arm so she could comfortably experience the spotted eagle ray, skates, turtles, triggerfish, parrotfish, puffers, and a splendid display of corals including fan, brain and staghorn to name a few. It was one of the kindest things I've ever seen. Bravo David aka Noodles! You'll just need to dive with them to learn the nickname reason. I know this has been lengthy but when choosing a dive team many things must be considered. Scuba Life Cozumel has every aspect covered and is the nicest group of people you can meet. My 17 year old daughter and I did 2 dives with Scuba Life during our family vacation in Cozumel. Our friends booked my husband and I with scuba life during a 6 day trip to Cozumel. We dove for 3 days with SL and had different dive master/ captains for each day out. But all dive masters and captains were very knowledgeable and caring during all the dives. They were kind and made me feel comfortable. They took the time to take us to the best reefs. We were let down that they had to cancel the bull shark dive (since the sharks have been absent for a couple days). However, I respected this bc it would have been a bummer to go on the 6 am shark dive and not seen any sharks. They also gave us a refund. Great dive, great snacks, fresh water on board to shower, they handled all the tanks and equipment, and took us to the best secluded spots for our one hour surface time! Carly and scuba life was phenomenal! We did a two tank dive with scuba life. We were lucky enough to dive Santa Rosa wall and the yucab reef. We arrived the shop and were quickly greeted and felt welcomed. We were a bit early so we went to the bar about a mile down on the beach and they picked us up right on the dock. Once on the boat we had some laughs, got ready, and got in the water! The dive was calm, the dive masters (Carly and noodle) were attentive. We felt safe the entire way. Legit one of the best dive experiences I have had. After the first dive we took our surface break and ate some cookies, fresh fruit, Gatorade, and had warm towels waiting for us. We are here celebrating my 71st birthday. I was certified ten years ago and have made two dives since. I was very anxious about diving again but had promised my husband I would try as he loves diving! We signed up for the Refresher Course for Open Water and then my husband a week of diving daily. The two wonderful people at the Scuba Life Cozumel store assured us that the two of us had a very experienced, patient instructor in Aldo. He was patient, kind, knowledgeable and reassuring. I felt totally safe and calm with him guiding us through the water. The crew helped with everything from getting on my gear, taking off my tank and BC in the water and helping me up and down the ladder. Fresh fruit, Gatorade and warm jackets/ blankets after each dive. We started with safety basic skills in shallow water and then were able to complete two amazing dives so far that were full of beautiful marine life...we saw giant spiny lobsters, crabs, eels, bat rays, tuna, sting ray and more fish than we can name. Norman was a phenomenal dive master! The Alaini was a beautiful boat and the captain was very nice! We Dove two days with this company and enjoyed the second day crew much more than the first there is definitely a discrepancy and some of the personalities. I do wish that this dive company did not provide single use plastic water bottles and single use wrapped cookies. Especially with how damaged the Cozumel ocean is! My suggestion is to do like Agua clara Diving in Tulum. They were the other dive company we used. They provided reusable water bottles that they washed and filled and also Tupperware full of sandwiches and cookies. read more

Dive master is excellent. Carly runs the office very efficiently. We got there early and no problem. The other group cancelled so me, my wife and 2 sons got our own drift dive. It was awesome. I saw a huge crab, trumpet fish, Barracuda and much more. I advise you to take a sea sick pill an hour before you get on the ferry as the 45 minute ride can get a bit rough. Several very unhappy people didn't get (or heed) this advice. read more

JP is an excellent, cautious, thorough instructor, and I feel that we've learned everything and more in these past 3 days. He prefers to teach his students in a private (rather than large group) setting at no extra charge, so if you like top notch, personalized service with excellent equipment and a beautiful boat, this is the place for you. We did the online course, and avoided any classroom time at all except a short standard review on a each side palapa table. :) Also, note that the open water course dives are all boat dives. Most places on Cozumel do only 2 of the 4 OW dives from the boat. These guys do them all. It's great. We plan on bringing the kids next year to learn from JP and Carlos. read more

I've been driving since 1987 and have logged 100's of dives all over the world. Scuba Life Cozumel is a top notch dive company. It starts with the email communication confirming you are all set, and continues right up to the time you arrive. The crew, boat and equipment, are also excellent. Do yourself a favor and try them if you're in the area. Don't worry if you're staying on the mainland. It's a simple 35 minute ferry line from Playa del Carmen, grab a $6/15 minute cab ride to the marina, and SLC will do the rest. The entire staff is professional, detail oriented, and incredibly kind and fun. My husband and I came down to dive and it was really important to me that we found a dive shop that was attentive and had a good diver to divemaster ratio so we went with scuba life after calling around and reading their reviews. We booked three days of two tank AM dives - and it was incredible. Beyond them being incredibly attuned to safety, they have also crafted an exceptional customer experience. When you arrive, all your gear is loaded on the bot and set-up, when you get to the dive sit they help you get geared up, after you dive you're in a comfortable and clean boat with drinks, fresh fruit and cookies. They really make an effort to get to know you and help you find creatures along your dive you're hoping to see. As an added bonus Norman takes awesome pictures. On our dives we were with an advanced couple the first two days and the staff did a great job of making sure that we both got to maximize our dive relative to our skill levels without holding each other back or making us uncomfortable. These guys were AMAZING! We booked 3 days of diving and they were so flexible and accommodating to our detailed requests (we wanted one of dives to be at the C-53 Wreck and one of our surface intervals to be at El Cielo.) They did both, no questions asked. The boat crew was very nice and professional and seemed to know exactly what they were doing. We brought all our own gear and when they say "valet service" they really do mean VALET SERVICE. We didn't have to lift a finger. The young owners, JP and Carlos, are consummate professionals, knowledgeable about local reefs and the best routes to take (I think they practically guaranteed a sea horse sighting, and to be sure, they found one; another diver voiced a yen to see a living conch, and that was made so, too). Also impressive was their ability to cater to six divers of varying experience; keeping everyone content and safe - having two dive masters is a great benefit. Being non-fluent in Spanish, this novice was greatly comforted by JP's perfect English and his depth of knowledge about scuba and its effect on the body. Once we were certified, we had to extend our stay to take another dive with Scubalife, and were treated to another great dive in the Palancar Reef - this one with swim throughs. A+++++ Had a great time diving with SCUBA Life! I am a PADI MSDT Instructor and can tell you that this group is very safe, professional and they keep it fun. Both Che Che and JP made sure it was safe and that over a period of 2 days we were going to see different sites for each dive. JP gave a very informative briefing with some tips and reminders for everyone in order make the dive go smoothly. Che Che found 2 octopuses for us! My wife tends to need some time for equalizing her ears and all Divemasters were very patient in giving her the time to make her way down. After my last dive somehow my dive computer was misplaced. I contacted the manager Carly who had let me know that it was found and since I was already leaving towards home from vacation at the time, they shipped the computer to my home. Found this operation by chance as they were at a pier resting between dives. As a former Divemaster/Instructor I could see at a glance it was a tightly run boat and crew. Signed up to take myself and 3 teenage kids diving. The experience was superb. The gear was top quality, JP and Manuel were a great help and genuinely friendly. The boat was clean, tidy and well run, the reefs they choose amazing and the marine life they were able to find and share incredible. 10/10. Could not give a stronger recommendation.
