Scuba Network Long Island is the best! Martha, Steve, and Michael are all amazing. I learned to dive here with Steve as my instructor, and he made the whole process fun, safe, and super approachable. Since then, I've been on multiple trips with the shop (Bonaire, Little Cayman, and Hawaii), and every single one has been so well put together and a blast. Everyone at the shop is friendly, knowledgeable, and really makes you feel like part of the dive family. I came here to buy some fins for snorkelling and it was a wonderful experience. The salesperson was really nice and helped me look through many pairs of fins until I found the one I wanted. He also advised me to buy some neoprene socks which would lessen the friction of the fins to my feet ;-) They also offer scuba classes all year round and the staff were really nice and knowledgeable. Terrble Place!! Don't bother going! Stay away!! Monday night I take my girlfriend there (brand new open water diver) to get her a complete setup (regs, BCD, weights, mask, fins, boots ... maybe even a computer). We get to the packing lot at 7:15 PM (closing time is posted as 7:30 PM) ... and as we walk toward the door, a old man comes out and tells us that they have closed the register and we can't come in - WTF?! What type of business is this?? You post a 7:30 closing time, but are close at 7:15?? I'm looking to spend some $1,500 in your business and you can't even give us the time of day or the respect to come into your store!!! Took my buiness elsewhere - they were very happy to take my money!! You lost us as a customer and all the dive trip that we plan to take!! If I could give it ZERO - I would!! read more

Seems like a friendly place to go to for scuba and wetsuit info. I went in just to get my children wetsuits and the lady working there offered advice on how to take care of them. Very cool! The store is full of wetsuits, tanks, snorkeling stuff, and of course a bunch of scuba things. I didn't feel intimidated going there. read more

I am def not a scuba diver but I needed something to wear for the pool and beach that I can have uv protection. At first I tried some of the shorties on they didn't work out the fabric was too thick then I tried a skin and it actually fit pretty nice I liked it! The woman that works there knows her stuff! The guy that works there is helpful but not informative. Parking is weird the entrance is in the back! read more

This place lives up to the great reviews. I came in for snorkeling gear today, Wednesday. Rich helped me understand the choices and helped me choose a full face mask, which I know will make for a more enjoyable experience. He went into great detail about the benefits and I wasn't rushed or pressured into a purchase. I was even offered coffee and invited to hang out. Other serious scuba customers were treated with equal courtesy. This is a very friendly, caring place with people who have expert knowledge and genuinely want you to be happy with your purchase. read more

I was looking for a good school to teach my girlfriend how to scuba dive. She wanted to get certified as a scuba diver so that we could travel and explore the marvelous underwater world together. Vivian was nervous. We needed a school where the instructors were patient, knowledgable, and safe. Martha, Scuba Networks owner, instills a culture of safety throughout her entire operation. Roberto, Vivian's classroom and pool instructor, was an excellent instructor. Roberto spent extra time with Vivian to instill confidence in her. We booked a scuba vacation to Bonaire with the Scuba Network. Martha and her staff traveled to Bonaire with the group. Martha's staff would be performing open water training for many of their clients in Bonaire. Martha assigned Jeannine to be Vivian's personal instructor. Jeannine worked diligently with Vivian. Vivian is now a Certified Scuba Diver! Martha, Roberto, and Jeannine did a superb job training Vivian. Vivian now has confidence as well as a great skill set. Martha did a great job setting up the Bonaire trip. Martha handled everything. She met everyone at the airport upon our arrival. Martha handed everyone their room keys at the airport so that no one would have to wait in line at the hotel. All ground transportation was provided. Martha picked a great local dive operation. We all had gear lockers on the dock that the dive boats worked off of. This made life easy. The resorts dive masters and boat captains were all very knowledgable. Martha would dive with our group. Martha would watch over everyone making sure that everyone was safe. Scuba Network is a full service dive shop. We were able to purchase all of our dive gear from Martha. She provided great advice on gear selection and fair prices. read more

Do NOT go here! I rented a scuba tank and did NOT use it. The cost was $12. I did NOT use it and returned it with a full tank of air. They would NOT refund my money. They said it was because they could not rent the tank to someone else when I had it, yet I witnessed 20+ tanks sitting there in the store. They would NOT have rented my tank. I will NEVER go back to this store again. Their loss. I dive 5 days per week in the warm months. This was my first time using this store, but I will NEVER go back!!!!! Also, the parking sux! It's very easy to get your car hit when leaving their parking lot. And you can NOT enter their store from the front. You have to park and enter in the back read more

I came to this store looking to fill a compressed air paintball tank. The moment I walked in the manager is standing at the entrance and I ask the guy if I could fill my tank as I pull it out. He tells me he doesn't to fill those tanks. So I'm a bit confused and want to know why. It's hydro tested, perfectly safe and so I ask is there a reason? And suddenly he gives me this nasty attitude repeating himself multiple times while his employee stands there quietly smirking until I left the store. I don't really mind them not filling my tank but how does a person run a buisness by making a person feel so uncomfortable the moment he walks into the store and offers 0 help or suggestions and starts off with an attitude. I work at a retail store and I've dealt with hundreds of customers and never have I lost my temper the way this guy did for absolutely no reason. They don't deserve any customers. I don't recommend anyone go to a place that staffs such terrible people. read more

I am a very infrequent Yelper, but felt that the folks at Scuba Network really deserved my kudos as they were just fantastic, and went above and beyond to make my 3 day pool and class introduction to scuba a great experience. After a wonderful Friday night session in the pool with Jonathan and Gardner (both of whom were excellent, patient instructors who clearly love to teach others to dive), I had some discomfort on Saturday and thought, maybe this isn't for me. I was considering not finishing the course, and this would have been no loss to Scuba Network as I had already paid for it and certainly didn't expect a refund if I chose not to finish. Despite that, Martha, Gardner and the whole SN team were so reassuring and accommodating in both figuring out what caused the change in my comfort level and taking the time to get me past it so that I had an amazing session on Sunday and felt great after completing my pool training. My daughter and I just finished our weekend (Fri-Sun) pool and course work and I cannot say enough great things about Scuba Network and our instructor, Roberto. My daughter is 10 and was excited to learn this new sport but when she had to really get into it found it a bit, shall we say, mentally challenging. Roberto immediately stepped in and helped my daughter feel more comfortable. For the remainder of the pool sessions, Roberto was there to help her feel comfortable and enjoy her time in the pool. The class work was a review since we both did the assigned work well ahead of time and the instructor made it interesting. One part I really like is they made sure she could do the tasks asked. I really like how professional they are and how they take it very seriously (which you would expect). We're both looking forward to doing our open water checkout dives and I hope this leads to years of fun together! read more

I have had a terrible experience with the Scuba Network store. I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences. I had signed up for a special they were running on scuba lessons, they were very nice taking my money in the beginning, but after they had my money it all changed... The course was supposedly running for two weeks in March 2012. I had to work the first weekend of the classes so, I went to the store and asked if there was a problem if I changed to the following week, was told that there would be no problem and nothing would change... It was to my surprise when I went to store and finalised and pick up $600 dollars in supplies for class they tell me that the special was no longer running and I had to pay $289 more for the classes... For me and the wife. B.O.B. as he called himself Bob was very abnoxious and rude telling me that the course I had signed for and paid for was no longer available and I had to pay a different amount. And told me I could a refund in a check. (WTF) and wrote me a check to my name ,,,, I payed (cash) ...I expected to get cash... I can't understand how there is so little communication between the different departments. How can they not know what is going on? I asked them to try and cancel the order. I'll take my money elsewhere thank you very much for the poor and unprofessional service... Basically, I am appalled at how disorganized they are at Scuba Network in Carle Place. And most of all, I am very upset that I will not have my equipment this weekend, and that my money is tied up in their own disorganization till I get the check cashed.... Hope no one else has had to go through this, but please share any tips if you have them. Thanks! read more
