I was on my way to a car show hoping to sell my near classic T bird and found this SMOG Test only shop near my destination. I was able to quickly get a smog check. Charles hooked me up and explained a few things about my car and the test. He was very helpful. He explained that if the car did not pass, he would re check for free and he even accepted my coupon without a problem. He spoke with an accent but was easy to understand. Most gentlemen in a garage do not engage in car talk with me. It was nice to be in an atmosphere where my business and my almost classic car were appreciated, even if I am a girl. This place was small but clean. The bathroom was tidy and I was very comfortable. I could see my car during the entire smog check and I would definitely go back again when I am in SC. Wish i Could figure out how to give no stars for this place. Tech there is a rude jack hole! He decided to take an hour lunch when I got there. Come back in an hour! Your posted hours don't show a lunch break!!!! I'm forced to go back there because I made the mistake of going there for my first failed test. I asked for explanation of the failure and the same lucnh taking tech shrugged his shoulders and said take it to someone who can fix it. He should have just come out and said "someone who cares"!!!! The place to go out here is Canyon Muffler. You dont need a coupon and he still beats the SCV rate by 10 dollars. Well, nothing too sexy to say here... I mean... it's a smog test. But, since it's something you have to do... I'd say this is a great place to do it. They were quick, courteous, and are equipped to service those like me who have RVs. I took my Jeep in, it didn't pass, but they were kind enough to explain the issue was likely due to replacing the battery and the computer system had reset. They sent me out to put a few more miles on the vehicle and come back. I did as they instructed. After a couple turns up the 5, I returned and all was set. Thanks for keeping it real and not sending me out the door scratching my head - only to end up with a $300 bill over at Chrysler so they can drive it up and down the 5. I have been going to SCV for a couple of years now. This is the only place i trust and i know i will be done in like 10 to 15 minutes. These guys are a test only shop so they have no incentive to fail a car. Other shops in the area do both test and repairs so if you fail they know they will likely get the repair work from you. i dont trust repair places like these. I always get an honest test here and its very fast. the shop is clean and comfortable and i can watch them while they are doing it. Don't take the risk, take it to these guys...some of the other places on the list claim to be test only, but they are NOT. read more

SCV Smog is the best! They don't do any repairs so you can trust them. I was in and out in about 15 minutes and the shop was very clean and comfortable. I was able to see them do the test on my car, so i know what was going on. Some of the other reviews look like they were written by their competitors because i didnt any of the stuff they said. i think that is terrible and makes me think that these other shops are dishonest. Needed to bring my wife's car in today for a smog check. Not sure why all the negative comments. They DO honor star test only coupons. I asked Alex (the tech) he said that most people are bringing in ciupons from a repair place in Saugus. PEOPLE! DO NOT GO TO TEST/REPAIR SHOPS! This is by far the best possible experience you could ever have getting your vehicle a smog check. Alex was so professional in the was he conducts himself. You are able to watch him perform the smog check unlike other shops. Messaged via Yelp to see if they had availability today and luckily they did. I called to ask a few questions and was told to stop by as the smog check would only take 10-15 minutes. Once I arrived, Charles helped me right away. All safety measures were in place (hand sanitizer, social distancing, masks, etc). I felt very safe. Alex is a spectacular human being. I came in last minute to smog my truck on the HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR. The man had my vehicle out the door in minutes. Again, after working all day in 110 degree weather, he took me in moments before closing.
