Im new to town so I decided to support my local business and come here for my smog check. I called the shop the phone was answered by Malik. Asked about price and if there was any specials he gave me a deal a smog for $55 (which I thought was a very reasonable price), and if it didn't pass I wouldn't have to pay. When I took in my car he was very polite, then asked when i should come back he said it would take about 30mins to and hour but that he would call me once it was ready. (he didnt). An hour goes by I go pick up my car he said it passed (which i was very pleased about). I paid him and i noticed that my functional check had failed. He assured me that it was fine. Then he proceeds to tell me about whats not working and he would give me a good price for repair. (Typical mechanic) Fast forward to today i go to the DMV and they tell me my smog didn't pass. Im instantly upset. So i call the shop Malik tells me to come by and they'll see whats going on. Once i show up im still upset that he made me believe everything was okay and took my money. Malik looks at my receipt/results of my smog test and gives it like a confused look like its the first time he's ever seen it. Admits that he made a mistake but he wont give me my refund. At that moment I swear my heart sank. He states he's not authorized to refund me but the best thing he can do is give me $20 off a retest. At this point im baffled I express how i feel taken advantage of, so i ask for the owners number. Called the owner explained what happened and the owner says "you can complain to whoever you want your not getting your money back." After my experience there I urge you not to come here they scammed me my money and took advantage of my situation. I believe by law you need to let the car owner that smog failed. Which they failed to do. I'm gonna call the better business bureau and file a formal complaint read more

Needing a smog test on our 2011 Lexus RX 350 for the first time for its registration, I gave Smog Shop a try due to its close proximity to my home and a high rating from my fellow Yelpers. And they didn't disappoint. Things started a bit slow on first arriving, as I pulled in front of the empty garage. Getting out of my vehicle with no one to greet me, I stepped towards the Bouquet Auto Repair side, both shops a part of the Chevron Station. I was soon noticed by one of the mechanics with the question " are you here for a smog test?" This individual I soon learned was named Malin, if my spelling is correct. And within a short time, he was driving my vehicle forward into the garage and taking care of business. He even gave me the normally printed out coupon discount with the words, "no coupon needed today". And after passing the smog test and the final paperwork, Malin had me out of there in all of what couldn't have been more then 15 minutes. A very happy customer! read more

I went in this last Friday to complete my registration by getting a smog check at a star certified station. There was no one ahead of me so I just signed the authorization and drove my car into the bay. 15-20 minutes later I had passed my smog! I paid $45 for smog & cert (with online coupon) and went on my way. The guy who did it was friendly & responded to my walking up quickly. He sits in the back corner of the bay where his paperwork & credit card machine are. Just walk in! There's no office or waiting room. There is a little outdoor patio table & chairs next to the bay you sit at. The whole experience was fast and easy. I will return to this station next time. read more

I live right around the corner from this place. It's right next door to the mechanic that I've been using for the last 5 years or so. I needed to smog my van and my Camry so I drove the van down on Sat morning and there was no in front of me. It was 8:00am so he just opened (right on time which I'm a stickler about) and no one was in front of me. I filled out my paperwork walked back home and picked up my Camry. By the time I drove back the van was done (about 15 minutes tops) and I dropped off the Camry. I dropped off the van at home and walked back to pick up the Camry and sure enough it was ready. Signed the paperwork, paid the bill and walked out. When I woke up on Saturday morning and my girl started with "You need to smog the van AND the camry today" I thought "Oh man, there goes my whole morning". Not the case, I was back home and done with the whole darn thing in 45 minutes for TWO vehicles. Definitely pleased, definitely using this smog shop in the future. Recommended. read more

My mechanic recommended the Smog Shop over all the dozens of other STAR certified (and regular) smog places in Santa Clarita, and not just because (with coupon) it was the best deal around. The owner is friendly, professional, and conducted a thorough test. The location, off Bouquet and Urbandale, is convenient and easy to get in and out of, which is also a plus. The whole test took about 10 minutes, and he sent the results directly to the DMV. Couldn't ask for an easier way to go. First off I don't know much that has to do with smog or a smog process, so when I called I had Mr. Malik tell me the way it works and what they do in order to have the smog check pass. I went over to the place, very clean and friendly, Malik had so much respect, he really knew what he was doing and gave me the price over the phone and $45 was very affordable for me as a student, left my car for about 15-20 minutes and later that I got my smog passed!!! Very happy for the outcome and great service, I recommend this place 10/10. Malik smogged my car a couple days ago and I'm going to be coming back to this spot next time. Really nice guy. Not only did he do it VERY quickly, but at the best prices in town. If you keep your car maintained like you are suppose to, there won't be any problems. Don't blame this guy for your poor car care like the negative reviews do here. This station failed my 96 E320 due to the check engine light was on, I found the light turned on during the test hook up not during the test. I told the guy what I saw and my car did not register a failure before the test. He insisted to fail it, and told me to see a mechanic. I took it to another station the same day and learned that the engine light issue is a known problem with this 96,97 model, he should not have failed the test. Also he ran my car on the the dynamometer which could damage the traction control system. I filed a complaint with the BAR and the finding is in favor of my complaint. This station is so inexperience and negligent to test your car, I will not recommend it. read more

I just moved to California and found this shop online with an online coupon for $29.95. Had no reviews but the 2nd location had good reviews and since this was close to my apartment I dropped in about 9 am this morning. The young man running the shop was sitting in a chair waiting for a customer. He was very personable and greeted me in a friendly manner. I showed him the coupon, he verified the price and then he performed the service which took about 20 minutes. He was very careful and thorough. My 2007 Volvo V70 passed the smog test and I was then able to go to AAA and get California plates. It also cost $8.25 for the certificate and $1.80 for electronic filing fee with DMV which was stated up front and in fact posted on the wall. An altogether pleasant experience regarding a necessary bureaucratic requirement. Total cost was $40. read more
