Someone guided us to our site and even helped my husband back in. The bathroom facilities were modern and clean. The brand new saltwater pool was well maintained. We love the family atmosphere and our kids enjoyed riding their bikes, playing on the playground, and going to the pool. This is the perfect campground if you love smaller campgrounds with SHADE. It is definitely not a concrete jungle like some of the other campgrounds. The bath houses are the best and they are cleaned on a regular basis. The campground also has a small store that offers free movie rental for those rainy days/nights. The staff is very friendly. I cannot say enough great things about this campground!

4 This was my first…read moretime camping in the Carolina Beach area, and my boyfriend booked us a cabin for 4 nights (Thursday-Monday). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay! The campground itself is decent with lots of space for everyone, and our cabin felt cute and charming. It was just the right size for the two of us. We didn't bring our kids this time, but if you're a family, the cabin comes with 4 bunk beds and could easily fit 4-6 people. Just note that the main bedroom has a full-size bed. Quick tips for future campers: * Bring your own bedding, sheets, and pillows. The bed isn't the most comfortable, but it worked for us since we wanted a positive getaway. * If you like extra storage, a little side table is helpful since the setup is simple. * Each cabin comes with a picnic table, campfire ring, and grill, which made evenings really enjoyable. We stayed at Centennial Cabin, which has two driveways--great if you have both a car and an RV/camper. It felt roomy and convenient. We were about a 5-minute walk from the bathhouse. The downside was the bathrooms--they always felt musty and not as clean as I'd like. With the number of people camping, it seemed staff only cleaned at night, so during the day it was often messy. On the positive side, there's so much to do around the area! My boyfriend and I love to explore, and we kept ourselves busy with: * Crabbing * Fishing * Hiking trails * Rock hunting * Bonfires * Scootering & cycling There are also plenty of stores and bait shops nearby if you need supplies or want to grab a few knick-knacks. We'll definitely be back again and plan to use the cabin again--it worked well for what we wanted. I'm giving this a 4-star review, mainly because the campground amenities and cleanliness of the bathrooms could be improved. Otherwise, it was a memorable and fun getaway!

The people were so nice and just said when I'm up to taking care of extra day, just come to office. This time I met the new owner, he is super nice. He is also doing renovations and additions to the camp. There is a beach for the kids to make sand castles, fishing, a great dog run with an obstacle run. It is also quiet. I will be staying here on the way home. It is conveniently located off I-95.

There is a small exhibit area about some of the animals, geology, geography, and history of the area. We hiked the 3 mile Sugar Loaf trail. It was more challenging than expected due to the sand. The weather was very pleasant the day we went in the spring. We saw quite a few other people enjoying the trail and having picnics. We heard a lot of birds including woodpeckers. The variety of trees and pinecones during our hike was fascinating.
