I thoroughly enjoyed calling Maddox Apartments home for three wonderful years, and I can honestly…read moresay it was an exceptional experience. From day one, the sense of peace and comfort here made it feel like a true sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. A special and heartfelt thank you to Cynthia and the entire team. Their dedication is evident in every detail: the lush, beautifully manicured grounds that are always pristine, and their quick responsiveness whenever a need arose. They consistently went above and beyond, making residents feel valued and cared for. If you're looking for a vibrant, party-centric atmosphere, Maddox Apartments may not be the right fit. This is a community where tenants truly appreciate quiet, tranquility, and respect for one another--a rare and wonderful quality that makes it feel like home. I'm deeply grateful for my time here and highly recommend Maddox Apartments to anyone. -KG

I lost my mom in 2021 in the middle of a year long lease in one of those fancy complexes in Irvine…read more It was very difficult, isolating, and very sad to say expensive to be stuck in that complex. It was noisy, they construction of the building was so bad that you couldn't have a private conversation, it smelled like pee everywhere and you had to be careful anywhere you stepped because the grass was full of dog poop - though you could tell you were approaching it by the smell and flies. The exterior of these really beautiful complexes are basically toilets for dogs - and no one cares. So imagine how happy I was and how lucky I felt to be approved to live in the small, beautifully manicured, very private, very quiet, oasis called Maddox Apartments. You can't tell when you drive past it because it's hidden behind the from fence, but upon entry you are going to be met by beautifully kept flower beds, freshly mowed grass, clean pathways, and bright blue pool. I was very struck by it when I first visited and I felt at home right away. Then I met Cynthia and her team and I knew that I needed to live at Maddox if I was going to recover from my mom's death. I got my apartment, I moved in and I was so, so happy for a whole year. I had virtually no issues, but the minor ones I had were handled almost immediately and correctly. The entire maintenance team is incredibly nice and accommodating, and most important, punctual! I would have lived there very happily for a very long time, but I got an opportunity to move to Europe about 8 months into my lease and I just could not pass that up. But I left and remain on good terms with the team. I credit the serenity of the complex and the kindness of the management team with helping me get through the worst time of my life, I loved my little apartment, it was exactly what I needed. If I ever have to move back to the US, it will be to OC. The first door I knock on for a place to stay will be Maddox Apartments.

Tina and Marie are awesome! They are very responsive and WANT to help you. Maintenance team is also amazing! They get to your work order in a timely manner and are very respectful. I loved everything about this apartment. We recently moved back to SoCal and if it wasn't for us purchasing a house, we would have loved to go back to Las Brisas!

Apartments are pretty large and fairly priced. Some units have balconies or patios which is nice and the grounds are always well maintained. There are two pools (one isn't used much since the other is heated in the summer and has a hot tub) and there are bbq's for everyone to use. Very pet friendly- most people have at least one pet! It is a quiet complex so if you're one for hosting rowdy parties, this isn't the place for you. The best part about this apartment complex has to be management. Tina and Marie are THE BEST and so on top of everything. If something breaks or you have an issue with something, just tell them and they will get on it right away. They are the sweetest people and so helpful! I have lived in multiple apartments before here and know how bad some complexes/management can be! If you get the chance to live here, go for it! Units go fast!

I was never late on my rent because my payments were set up on autopay. What is frustrating is that whenever management wants money from you, they have no problem texting, calling, and emailing repeatedly. But when it comes to communicating important information that affects you financially, that same level of communication seems to disappear. During my last year there, I was charged an additional $265 per month for a month-to-month rate. Not once did management have the courtesy to call or email me to clearly explain why I was suddenly being charged hundreds of dollars more every month. After living there for five years and consistently paying my rent, I expected much better communication. The amenities were another disappointment. The bowling alley was constantly out of service, the pool was old, and other equipment and amenities seemed to work one day and be broken the next. You are paying for amenities that you cannot consistently use. I also went through an extremely disturbing incident while living there when someone fell from a balcony and landed on my patio and died. Despite how traumatic that experience was, I never caused problems for management or used it as a reason to complain about the property. At one point, I asked about transferring to a two-bedroom apartment. Management told me there was only one available and that I could only see it on a Friday. I waited a week, called that Friday morning to confirm my appointment, and suddenly I was told the apartment had already been rented. How does that happen when I was specifically told to wait until Friday to see it? In hindsight, I am very glad I did not transfer into another unit there. That same day, I gave management verbal notice that I would be moving out. They asked me to submit the notice through their portal, but, as happened often, the portal was not working. I ended up sending the notice directly by email. During my final week, I contacted management to make sure there was nothing else I needed to do before moving. I was then told that they supposedly had no record or knowledge that I was leaving and wanted to charge me for an additional full month. I had already committed to and was paying rent at my new place. I had to escalate the situation to higher management just to get the additional charge reduced. Even after escalating it, I still ended up paying for approximately 10 extra days that I did not expect to pay. Now, after moving out, they are asking me for even more money for cleaning, after already using my entire $500 security deposit. I expected to receive at least part of my deposit back, or at the very least walk away owing nothing more. I originally did not want to post a negative review after living there for so many years. However, after receiving repeated communications asking for more money, I feel other people considering The Marke should know what my experience was like. After five years as a resident who paid rent on time, I expected basic communication, reasonable treatment, and some level of appreciation for being a long-term tenant. Instead, my final experience was stressful, expensive, and extremely disappointing. I would not recommend The Marke to anyone looking for a place to live.

Right off of the freeway that you can just hop on really quick (but you never hear freeway noise). It's also near soooo many good stores and restaurants. Plus about 10 minutes from the beach. It's right next to Vanguard and the Costa Mesa police station, so I always feel safe. It's across the street from the fair grounds, so you can walk to the OC fair! The leasing agents are so sweet and helpful. The maintenance staff is also sooo kind and helpful. Residents are sweet and respectful. The pool is always kept clean, has a jacuzzi, and has cool chairs. The community is nicely kept and always clean. The trees around keep it private and fresh. It also makes sure there are cute little birds and squirrels around (cute). There are also lemon trees in the community that residents can pick. The washer/dryers are a very good price and they have a good system (an app you can download) to see which ones are in use or available. There are also a few washer/dryer rooms so they are never overfull. The gym is everything I need. There are weights and helpful equipment.
