I rented from the office in Wilmington. When looking to rent, the service was fantastic. Everybody was super nice and helped us find a place. They were great. When something needed to be done they were pretty good at coming to fix it. Nothing major ever needed to be done though. However, this is why I give them a 1. When we left the 1st rental, the house was spotless! I did know they would charge for paint in my daughter's room and molding around the door. One of my dogs had chewed on it when my daughter accidentally locked her in the room. I expected that. However, they charged for painting the living room and the kitchen, which we didn't hang anything with nails, there was no reason they would've needed to paint. The cleaning list from the maintenance and cleaning company was six pages of BS! Ridiculous things, like replacing the covers that go over the outlets (some of them were missing when we moved in, however, I didn't think a big deal because we replaced them for like $.20) stains on the flooring that were there prior, removing cupboard paper that I used to cover the horrible cabinets, debris on the hardwood floors, which was brought in from maintenance crews. I know because I had a video showing exactly how the floors looked when we left and they were absolutely clean. We swept and mopped them, supposedly there was hair in the bathtubs, thankfully I had pictures showing the clean tubs. The blinds that they had in the house were the skinny ones that are the cheapest ones you can purchase at Walmart or Home Depot. After 18 months, the sun had beat on them and some of them had cracked. They charged me for those. However, I didn't get a credit for the four that we put in the sunroom that were not the cheap ones. We paid over $250 for them. However, when I mentioned a credit that was just ignored. Long story short, they charged us for things that were pre-existing and the cleaning fee was just ridiculous because I took a video and took pictures of before, and after. I will post some below. They kept my whole deposit, plus tried to charge me additional fees when I should've at least got half my deposit back. Since our next home would not be ready for three months, and prior to the dilemma of getting our first deposit back , we rented an Airbnb for three months through them. We were told that we didn't have to clean the Airbnb because we had to pay a $500 nonrefundable deep cleaning fee . We also had to pay 2 nonrefundable pet deposits, which should have covered the molding around my daughter's door, that my dog chewed up. When we left the Airbnb, they charged an additional $340 for some type of cleaning, which they didn't even state what it was for and a $74.80 administration fee. PSA ... You will not get any of your deposits back. They charge you for things that should be normal wear and tear. SOME ADVICE ...TAKE DETAILED PICTURES BEFORE YOU MOVE IN AND AFTER YOU MOVE OUT! This company especially the staff at Holden Beach, Sharon Uchida are awful. They seemed nice to start. Then they will harass you the full time you are there, inspection every 3 months, owners and co-owners coming and going all the time blocking your car in filling up your trash bin with their own stuff. Calling questioning what the neighbors are doing etc. Very unprofessional. When you have to put in a service request of a leak and they turn your water off during a holiday for 3-4 days with no water at all, and you request to be moved or provided an accommodation and only get ignored. And because it took so long to have the leak temporarily patched, (over a month) mold grew in between the walls, and the walls started separating and showing mold through to the other side in some places. After a patch was place to cover the leak, nothing was done to rectify the damage of the water that had already been sitting in the walls and floor. Once I was finally able to aquire a new place and move, the company is trying to charge for damage to the floor, windows, walls, etc due to water damage sustained from faulty maintenance. A mop will not clean mold that is growing under the floor. And a cleaning fee for a microwave and fridge from 1997. Neither of which are safe to be using any longer. But both of which were left cleaner than received. There are burns on the back of the fridge and the wall, not from tenant misuse, b/c appliance from 1997 should not still be in use. PLEASE READ BEFORE RENTING!! If you are thinking about renting a condo in Bellingham park that they manage, do NOT DO IT. The owner has left us living in unsafe living conditions with missing carpet/walls/mold/mildew/rusty nails/unsafe water from a flood that HIS washing machine caused, for almost three months now and refuses to fix anything. NOW we were given a 30 day notice to vacate because the owner wants us out BEFORE he fixes anything!! We're supposed to pay this month's rent, find a new place to live, pay the deposit and first month's for that place, pay to move, and eventually we MIGHT get our deposit back. Seacoast has NOT offered to help us find a new place or waive any fees/give us our deposit since it's just short notice! Our lease wasn't up until February 2024!! I have three children that I have to uproot from their schools and move to wherever we can find a place to go! Seacoast is cold, callous, non-empathetic, doesn't treat you or speak to you like a human being AND they cannot manage their owners!! Which, part of their job is to implore their owners to do the right and legal thing! The LEAST they could've done is helped us with another rental until we found something. We will be out on the streets!! We've never missed a rent payment, treated this property like we owned it, and have ALWAYS been kind to the people in the office. THEY DO NOT CARE. This is a complaint against the Sea Coast Rentals in Wilmington NC -- not VRBO. As a customer, I am very chagrined to say that I am extremely disappointed with Sea Coast Rentals due to their utter lack of response and resolution to my inquiries. I canceled my reservation ID 38135 back in mid April due to an unexpected diagnosis of breast cancer recurrence and the need for treatments. Upon learning my diagnosis, I immediately contacted the unit owner, Sea Coast manager and VRBO to explain my situation and my inability to take the vacation. VRBO Immediately refunded my $160 fee paid to them once I canceled and explained my circumstances. The unit manager was kind enough to respond with understanding and assurance that the unit manager will do everything possible to re-rent the unit and refund me; but Sea Coast rental company has consistently ignored a recurrent cancer patient's requests and has refused to even acknowledge my calls and emails, causing me much unneeded stress when I am already in a dire situation. Sea Coast had no problem immediately deducting from my account in 4/15 but they suddenly can't figure out how to respond to a customer???!!!! read more

After dealing at first with a very nice Lady, who no longer works there, we have nothing good to say about this company. They neglected our interests and the 'Inspections' never gave any indication of the problems that have developed over time with the tenant. And to top it all off......arguing about the obvious damage that had happened during the 'Management-Period'. I can only say positive things about the staff and services of Sea Coast Rentals. We needed a property management/rental company and started with Sea Coast the day after we bought our house. Appointments were made, and promptly attended, at our convenience. The process, paperwork and computer hookup were painless and speedy. Hurricane Florence hit a week later. The house was still vacant. At our request, Sea Coast stepped up to quickly vet emergency short-term tenants for a family whose home had been destroyed. When the crisis was over, Sea Coast swiftly found new, wonderful long-term tenants. Initial and over-time routine maintenance problems have always been assessed and repaired in very timely, cost conscious ways. I forgot to mention, we live in Hawaii. Sea Coast's wonderful and easy to use, comprehensive computer program minimizes communication issues resulting from the 6-hour time difference. Actually, there have never been any communication issues. Texts, emails and calls have always had very rapid responses. If you are shopping for a property management/rental company - Sea Coast comes highly recommended. read more

This applies to the Seahawk Cove apartments under Sea Coast Rentals: I'm going to start this review by saying how nice it is to live in an apartment complex where utilities are included within the monthly rent and is already furnished. Overall, the inside of each apartment is really nice and each room has a walk in closet and individual bathroom. That being said, the walls are extremely thin. I hear the guys above me talking when I am in my bathroom and can hear their phone vibrating when they get calls. The toilet in my bathroom is slanted as is the floor. The desks given in the bedrooms have no drawers or any type of storage, making it challenging to keep notebooks and textbooks organized. The decks on each apartment are large and covered except for the top floor. Each unit comes with a large flat screen TV which is amazing for student focused apartments. Amenities are very limited, two camping grills by each building and picnic tables. That's it so far. The biggest downside to the apartment is without a doubt the lack of enforcement and accountability by management. Cars are in the parking lot for days on end with no pass and the 4 visitor spaces available tend to remain full. The sign for the towing company has been up for months and still no towing is enforced - even for cars in the lot with no license plates that haven't moved in months, and cars parked in handicap spots without proper tags/signs! The one dumpster provided (oh and there's no recycling) has trash around the bin because residents can't figure out there are two sides and management does nothing but send emails. In the summer of 2017 residents were promised to have a gated community with security cameras. Camera's were installed March 5th 2018 and there is still no gate. Other residents have had trouble with maintenance requests, some times its weeks before a request is fixed. Lease agreements are never upheld and informing them of disturbances even after having called Wilmington PD result in no serious action being taken to remedy the on going issue since August/September. Tenants leave trash in the parking lot and toss it from their balcony's creating a community that is hard to live in at times. The manager that was most approachable was recently let go and there has been a decrease in management/tenant relations that I have noticed. I wish I had paid a bit more to have amenities and caring management. If you're looking for a relaxing place to live and come home to after work or school, this just may not be it. read more

OWNERS STAY AWAY! You've been warned. (Read below) **Updated:** When my former tenant & I settled money owed to me and went in to meet and pay, Sea Coast told me that the $50 late fee the tenant owed them would come out of the settlement payment. I expressed to them her late fees was not responsiblity to collect or pay for her. The money was the settlement for things I had to pay for damages/repairs to my home. The office manager attempted to explain this, IN THEIR FAVOR, and that the total amount owed included the late fee. In an attempt for me to settle a debt owed to me, SEACOAST attempted to slide their dues into MY SETTLEMENT! "Sorry sir, but you can not waive our late fees for Octobers rent". I told them I wasn't trying to, but I refuse to pay a late fee to them I did not incurre. Just by chance the tenant walked back jnto the office & I was able to state to both of them that the late fee was between them two & not me. I see why they have a C- rating on the BBB's website & not accredited with them. They managed my property from 2016-2019. My first tenant was left unchecked. Yard was not keep up with and left to grow waist high (a neighbor had to sneak in while they were away to mow it), yet the Company knew nothing about it but told me they do random drive by visual inspection while they are out. Dogs left unattended in the FROG & allowed to defecate through out the house while they moved because they were evicted. They left the house TRASHED & while Sea Coast was left in charged to get the house cleaned up & ready for showing, they did the bare minimum. House still smelled like animal urine, roaches and bugs infested, nothing was done about this before showing. The hired "vendors" who's work was not inspected. I was left embarrassed by the comments left about my property by potential renters. Had to have a second cleaning & this time a personal friend go to the home & inspect for me. Second tenant made modifications to my alarm system that required replacement of equipment & adding equipment that attached to my home without my prior knowledge. Also was allowed to place a pool over my septic tank even after I sent an email with a picture that depicted where NOT TO PLACE the pool. No inspection was done to insure the tenant followed suit. I had an automated deadbolt on the front door, when I requested the locks be changed in the house, that was replaced/down graded to a regular deadbolt without my approval. When brought to the Company's attention, I was told I HAD TO TAKE IT UP WITH THE VENDOR THEY HIRED. A VENDOR THEY, once again, DID NOT INSPECT THE WORK. Upon move out, my tenant moved a tier shelfing that was attached to my wall. The cleaning company, when instructed to remove items left, took that shelfing. I could go on with more issues, but if you read this far, I'll end it with this...Just stay away. Unless you live here & can personally keep tabs on them, they will allow your property to be degraded. After all, it isn't theirs. read more

After repeated (10-20 emails) attempts to bring about a resolution to these issues, we may finally get the repairs addressed. We still have significant damage from florence, and its January 4th. Terrible customer service. Called multiple times to find out moving out details and no one called back for almost a month!!!! Called everyday and left messages. We would pay rent on time then slap us with late fees and when we address we already paid, they suddenly "found" our check. Upon moving out they found multiple things wrong with the house that were there when we moved in and are no longer getting security deposit back!!! We will NEVER do business with them again and have contacted BBB and attorney general on their lack of customer service and the way they do business...which is poorly. read more

Newly moving to North Carolina, Seahawk cove apartments ran by Seacoastrentals seemed like a good fit for me. After living here for a few months now, I now know my decision was terrible. When seeking maintenance from their rumored "24 hour service", you'd be lucky if you ever get a call back. I've waited weeks currently for a maintenance personnel to come and fix what I see as some important issues involving my bathroom, but I find myself calling them and being assured that someone will come....but they never do. This issue is only one of the countless other lies and complete bullshit that was spewed to me by property managers and even postings and fliers. We were told that amenities such as a pool and clubhouse area would began being built very shortly into our stay, but have not seen any progress. My parents were excited to hear that we would have a security fence and gate to protect and enclosure of our property, but alike much other things at seahawk cove, that isn't happening. The property managers seem to try and avoid you and any situation. They promise certain office hours on site, which aren't always accurate, for they seem to be on site at random times and not the promised times. Within the first month here, our roommates and I saw countless apartments leaving trash outside their doors, yet as soon as one bag was left outside of our we got a notice warning and promise to be fined if It happened again....we still continue to see apartments with garbage. After months of living here they finally promised visitor parking to be put into place and a strict towing policy for those who aren't living here and aren't in the visitors spots. Once the minor construction was finally done I noticed they put FOUR spaces for visitors, when there are 72 total possible people in both apartment buildings total. I find this company to not care at all about their customers, they are here for your check and your money, and that is ALL they care about. Myself and other people living in these apartments have expressed our hardships in living here, and I know that there will not be the same amount of people returning here next year and renewing their lease for these problems stated above. My own roommate is desperately trying to leave here, because she cannot take it here. I was promised a great roommate matching professional that "hadn't paired anyone who didn't get along in all her years", yet I find that my roommates are highly unlike me and their living style is completely different than mine. All and all, I feel as if your living situation is something that should be taken very seriously, especially to those who's salary is paid by my months rent, but I can promise you this is not the case here. Most importantly after seeing more reviews of SeaCoastRentals in general, I've come to the conclusion that the entire company is like this and that I will forever be avoiding property renting and buying with them again. I cosigned for my college student at Seahawk Cove for the spring semester, let me start by saying the original manager that I had dealings with was very professional and if she was still there I feel sure this would have never happened. After the new on site manager Nautica arrived he was charged with a unauthorized person fee and I being the cosigner was not even notified, did not receive and email or any kind of notification but my name was on the lease. Apparently this unauthorized person fee is when someone stays in the 'locked' extra room and then management charges the other roommates a months rent if they feel like the room has been used. When my son told me about this I tried talking to her asking how can someone stay in that room if its locked and her answer was "its easy to unlock", ,,really? Where are pictures and proof of this because every time I was over nobody was ever in that room and the room was actually blocked with some furniture, and my son stated the room was locked and nobody was ever there. She was very condescending and of course the conversation went nowhere. He moved out in July and she kept his deposit and charged him 99.50 the remainder of the unauthorized person fee which is exactly what I expected. The point here is there was no proof, her word against his and the other roommate, seems like a good way to make money if when they find out your moving then they conveniently charge this fee then keep your deposit. It puts you in a situation because your not going to pay your lawyer to fight a 299.50 fee but you like having good credit and don't want to be turned over to collections so guess what you pay it and tell All your friends and coworkers in the medical field what a racquet it is and NOT to send their college student or anyone else they know to Seahawk Cove. I moved to Seahawk Cove Apartments in August of 2017. On the positive side, for $600/month, the price includes rent, utilities, each room has its own full bathroom, and the apartment came furnished. While the interior is great, there are numerous downsides to this apartment. They promised amenities and currently all we have is a grill and picnic tables (which were not installed until February of 2018). There does not appear to be any plans to install other amenities (pool, fitness center, club hours) which all the other nearby apartments have. The walls are EXTREMELY THIN.... I should not be able to hear the people above me coughing or their phone vibrating. My room is next to the stairs and I can hear people conversations in the stair well and my walls shake when people go up and down the stairs. They also have only 4 guest parking spots for the entire complex (72 total residents) and only one dumpster and no recycling.... Overall, the inside is great, but compared to some of the other apartments in Wilmington, this one does not compare. read more

We rented through Sea Coast Rentals in Hampstead NC and had a TERRIBLE experience. Before we moved in, they were super nice and accommodating. There is TONS of red tape with them- like kiss your deposit goodby. The cleaning checklist is short and makes you think that if you deep clean, it will pass. We cleaned for hours and made sure everything was checked off the list- but they still came back with a 'human hair in a drawer' and 'a crumb in the fridge', dust on a lightswitch. REALLY?????? I truly think NOONE could pass the inspection and they expect someone to professionally clean. We did absolutely everything they ever asked after our 3 month inspection times (like please clean up your dog's poop in the backyard) which I might add, we do on a regular basis- but she does poop everyday... we had to argue about everything when it came time to move out and I would recommend to ANYONE looking to rent in Hampstead NOT to use this company. They are nice to your face but ridiculous with their expectations. BEWARE of them. They will be really nice on the phone before you move in... read more
