When I arrived I was checked in and given a tour of the attractive property by the staff member on duty. My room was spacious and comfortable along with the bathroom that had a shower in it. The ac worked well too. The TV was a smaller screen that I think was less than 32" and was mounted high up on the wall so TV watching could be better. The room had a small refrigerator in it. Shortly after checking in I received a series of text messages from the owner regarding information about Isabel II such as restaurants nearby, grocery stores, taxi info, tour companies, etc, which was helpful. Bravo Beach is well maintained with 2 freshwater pools and less than 20 rooms all with outdoor facing entrances. It is located directly on the water with a beach but swimming is not allowed or desired from the shell beach however the beach is available for walking. The hotel does offer the free use of beach supplies like coolers and folding chairs, etc. if you need them. They do have their own small parking lot and more parking next to the hotel but I'm not sure they have enough parking if all of their rooms are full. The hotel is located about a 6-7 minute walk from the ferry terminal. If I returned to Vieques I would be happy to stay at Bravo Beach Hotel again.

The hotel is situated at the end of the busy boardwalk and this end of the street was relatively quiet. The hotel staff was impeccable, full of local recommendations. Breakfast each morning was scrumptious and the coffee was strong and tasty. They provided beach chairs, beach umbrella, coolers and ice, and unlimited beach towels. We didn't get to try the pool, but it looked nice! 4 ft deep all around so good for folks looking to lounge. We stayed in the Deluxe King room (room 6) and the natural light streaming in throughout the day and the ocean views were perfect. If you're planning on spending some time on the balcony of this room, bring your bug spray! Overall, highly recommend. We'd stay here again!

A little upset that I tried it on my last visiting day because I should've been eating here everyday from the start! That's how great it is. I believe I ordered the shank! It looked too good to eat haha. Very juicy and tender. The rice and beans had a delicious flavor. The hotel in itself is very unique and remarkable in itself. It truly feels local to the island and its history. The architecture is breathtaking. I specifically enjoyed the rooftop with optional seating and a jacuzzi/pool. I enjoyed that there were too many people in the hotel during my stay which allowed my visit to be more intimate with the locals/area and the intricate designs the hotel offered. It was also a plus that coffee and tea was offered in the morning. I was especially happy with the oat milk option.

As always, I conducted a bunch of research, some say too much but they always ask me to find things for them... The name for the Hacienda Tamarindo is derived from Tamarindo trees on the property. If you go to Vieques there is a ferry they run all day. Ticket was two dollars. Vieques is a nature preserve so expect to see horses everywhere on the island. Oh yeah, roosters too. You need a rental car on the island. Well, at least I would recommend one and am glad I had one. There is no way to see the beaches without a vehicle. Hacienda Tamarindo will reserve your rental for you if you ask. Be aware that you may not want to arrive on the island before the rental company opens. If I'm ever on Vieques I will stay at the Hacienda Tamarindo.

Lots of kind kitties everywhere Hacienda Tamarindo had some great amenities. - the hotel booked our rental car so it was waiting for us when we got to the hotel - you can request they make lunch for you. When we woke up they had it ready to go in a cooler for us - breakfast is included, it not a buffet either, it's a nice sit down breakfast and they serve you - the pool is open 24/7. It has a cute fountain and again great views of the beach - each room comes with a hard side cooler you can take to the beach. - there is an honor bar where you can make your own drinks - you can rent snorkeling gear, beach chairs and umbrellas from them.

But regardless they offered to help arrange a taxi from the airport which was so nice, and then watched over our luggage while we explored the island until checkin (4pm). I have to highlight, when they say "unplugged" it means it - there is no tv in the room, wifi/cell is spotty and temperamental outlets, apparently common to the island, little nuances we hadn't expected, but dealt with. Our king room with lanai ocean views was exactly that! Once we got used to being "unplugged" we throughly enjoyed our stay. The brunch and dinner restaurant are very convenient. The bar is highly recommended/known by locals, as is the resort. A fabulous pool and beach access - the facility provided beach towels and chairs you can carry to the beach. After a long day exploring we'd either shut the curtains and cool off or sit on the lanai enjoying the views, warm breeze and watching the wild horses. The property is just absolutely beautiful and the staff so very nice.

Unfortunately when we went there was a ton of seaweed on the black sand beach so it didn't look to nice but again that's not something they can control. But other than that. The food is good the bar service is nice but they do close at 9. And everything else about the experience was great!

I can't agree with the other reviewer more on the fact that it is quite possibly the awesome-est place to stay ever...and very difficult to describe the overwhelming amount of charm. time kinda stops (which is really nice if you are on vacation.) if you enjoy languid porch swings, fluffy clouds, beautiful views, sunkissed cheeks, peaceful hammocks, rum drinks, floating in water, watching lizards, carefree afternoons, sweet tropical fruits, beach glass, cat-naps + quiet-time this is the place for you! we didn't have to share a bathroom, because we rented the cabanita. it has it's own bathroom - a private outdoor shower. (oh bliss!) a tiny kitchenette...with fridge and two burner stove + it's own front porch. La Finca has many options for different types of travelers. The community house has shared bathrooms and kitchen and some little bed rooms like a hostel. It has a breezy open indoor/outdoor quality and plenty of perfect spots for a nap. There are larger more "luxury" cabins also that are secluded and less communal throughout the property... OR you and 49 of your closest friends could rent the entire place for a week! this option would be great for a big party, retreat, family re-union, wedding, yoga intensive, etc. -the salt water pool is amazing! it feels healing for your skin and doesn't stink like chlorine! but none of it is what you might be used to. the linens and towels don't match, there are no tvs, internets, newspapers, telephones, etc. no one wears shoes that much. they might rent you a convertible car without a top (and it might rain that day.) people are so completely laid back that there isn't even glass in any the windows! i felt really lucky to have landed in such a beautiful, down to earth place. The Inn Keepers are super kind and helpful and will make you feel right at home. Go when it isn't tourist season (late spring+summer) and you will find yourself totally alone on a crystal clear blue beach swimming with tropical fish for hours at a time. We felt so free, we got naked! La Finca and all of the island is really pretty rural -you'll have to be able to entertain yourself. bring books, instruments, crafts, bikes, rafts and bug spray! all we did the entire time we were there was: read, swim, drink, eat, drive around beach hopping and sleep. a real relaxing vacation!!! my only beware: the non-puerto rican transplants that have spent entirely too much time in the sun and burnt some of their brains off can talk/get/act/look really wacky. BUT: If you have never felt a trade wind, seen the stars without light pollution, taken a dip with glowing phytoplankton, photographed wild ponies or eaten a fresh tamarindo....you really have no idea what you are missing.

If you are one of those who wake up active like me, you can start your morning by stretching and moving your body with a yoga class designed for all levels in the most beautiful space. The class leaves you vitalized for the rest of the day. Then my favorite part of the day while staying at La Finca, the Ayurvedic breakfast. The breakfast not only looks beautiful to the eye but also the flavors are delicious and healthy. Very nourishing. There is tea and cafe available for you all day. After that, you can spend the day at La Finca spa that offers a variety of Ayurvedic treatments, massages, acupuncture and different rituals. Or go the the pool area at the Pavilion where you can relax, read and sunbathe. But if you feel more adventurous you could dedicate the afternoon to exploring the stunningly varied landscapes of Vieques. By renting a golf cart you can go beach hooping around the island. Vieques has some of the most beautiful and crystal clear beaches in the Caribbean. I try to come here once a year so Im always looking forward to coming back.

The owners are wonderful! Prior to arrival, I called The Vieques Guesthouse to confirm our reservations. I spoke to Amanda who is the owner. She helped me find my confirmation in my spam. Also, I got a text confirmation too. So easy! Upon arrival, we were greeted by Amanda. She went over all the logistics with us and we were off to our room. I loved the starfish theme in our room. From the colors to the pillows, it was so cute. Our bed was comfortable and clean. There is soap, shampoo, conditioner, a microwave, refrigerator, safe, and hair dryer too. In the morning, there is complimentary coffee and tea. You can purchase breakfast and snacks too. Amanda was so friendly and helped us navigate the island. During the day, Mike and/or John are available to troubleshoot anything for you and give wonderful advice on local attractions. I tried some that were not on the list and they are as follows: -Tin Box: If you're craving sushi on the island, this is a great place to check out. -Green beach: Rumored to have conch shells but I guess I wasn't that lucky. We had also gone post light rain, so the long road there was covered in puddles of unknown depths. Would highly recommend a generous application of bug repellent if you go. We were swarmed by a little cloud of gnats and I got little non-itchy polka dots on my arms by the time I was through -Seagate Horseback Riding: Only a good idea if you're intermediate to advance in horseback riding. The horses are not lead or strung together. There were also parts of the ride where the horses seemed to be trained to go a a trot. At these speeds, I almost slid off the horse!
