Plenty of room for extended family. A few opportunities exist however: most of the doors are not lockable for the bedrooms, the outdoor shower is only lockable from the outside, the mattresses for both king size beds need to be replaced ( very uncomfortable and a must for the owner), and the pool requires attention with respect to a slow leak that the pool maintenance worker mentioned to us on Monday ( two days after check-in) which is also a must to fix.

It has always been a policy that the current renter has first option to book for next year. This policy I believe is pretty standard throughout all rental companies, but Sun Realty! We have been informed that it is now first come first serve and we need to change our weeks. No, we had to change realtors. We're charged a cleaning fee (WHY?), and for what! Every year I need to wash EVERYTHING in the kitchen before we can use anything. Things were so greasy that they almost fell out of your hands. We have a king size matress pad on a queen size bed. At least we had one. Have arrived to no matress pads or wrong size. No shower curtain, vaccuum cleaner that had a broken belt, so you know that nothing was cleaned. Had a toilet that wouldn't flush, and the list goes on and on over the years and nothing has improved. If anything, it's worse!!! If I could rate Sun a -10 I would! They are a terrible company to deal with and they don't care at all about their guests! All they want is the money! NEVER USE THEM AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!!! WISH THE OWNERS COULD SEE THIS AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO THEIR GUESTS!

Even before we had made the decision to go with Shoreline, Jennifer had pulled our listing and at our first meeting gave us several ideas for how to improve the property. With the year being what it has been, in April we weren't sure if we'd even have renters...now we're fully booked through October...which is an experience we've never had before. All of the crew are professional and friendly, and look out for our interests as well. If you're a homeowner looking to switch, I'd definitely recommend giving them a call!

We rented Duck 18 - Mi Casa Su Casa - in August 2026. This was an expensive rental. Very…read moreexpensive. So, our expectations were understandably high. But, long story short, the condition of this house was appalling. Sand everywhere, food chunks splattered all over the waste bins, chunks of food all over the dishes, sand in the kitchen drawers. Every surface in this house was greasy and grimy - the doors, the chairs, the kitchen drawers and countertops, the pool area - like the house hadn't been cleaned properly in years. There's a silly couch in the living room where the design gives you a direct sightline underneath it, and it was laughably dirty (sand, rocks, food, etc.). At least one bathroom smelled like a camp site latrine. The pool deck was so appallingly dirty that my 80 year-old father spent an entire morning cleaning it. In addition to cleanliness problems, this house is at least 10 years behind on maintenance. The deck needs serious work, the ancient pool system is overwhelmed by the encroaching sand, and the budget kitchen/bathrooms have been pounded on by renters for decades. The cookware and dishes are a mismatch of random things people have left in the rental for the last 10 years. It's hard to cook or otherwise enjoy the property when you're constantly trying to overcome the condition issues. We immediately notified Shoreline of all these issues and they sent a cleaning person and pool person the next day. The cleaning person immediately admitted that the house wasn't clean at all. She did her best, which was helpful, but there was nothing she could do about the systemic condition issues. The pool person said that he is unaware of anyone being responsible for maintenance of the pool deck - which was clear to us already. And here's another interesting note: there are no garbage cans outside the house. You have to put your garbage bags in your car and drive them a few blocks to the community dumpster. Good luck keeping your car clean. We love this area but we will NOT be renting from Shoreline OBX again. Awful experience.

There's handicap parking, an elevator for luggage, so how is a handicapped person going to get up those stairs? Poor planning, with the money they spent on that stupid elevator for luggage, they could have accomodated it for people. Many owners are getting older and it's 6 flights of steps to the 3rd floor. My father, an owner, can no longer go for this reason.

Appliances are outdated and worn. Oven does not cook properly and dishwasher does not clean dishes. Bottom of curtains on sliding did glass door is dirty. Some electrical outlets in unit did not work. TV did not work either. Supplies in gift basket are not enough to last for your stay. We arrived in April and the pool was dirty and closed. Huge disappointment for my kids. I would not recommend this place to anyone to stay and I definitely will not be back. On the upside it is conveniently located to the beach with a short walk. It is also close to area attractions, restaurants and shopping. Maintenance did show up to fix television promptly.
