Renter beware!!! We stayed at A Cultured Pearl in Garden City Beach this past week. Do not pay for the heated pool as it will not be heated when it is needed. The rental agreement states that if the temperature d goes below 60 degrees Fahrenheit that the heater will cut off. Our first full day the temperature was above 65 degrees nearly the entire day, the pool never heated up. The second day was a little cooler with the temp not getting to 60 until noon the pool never heated up. The third the temp was over 60 by 9AM, the pool never heated up. You get it! We called the property management company, and they said that the agreement says 65 degrees. I am happy share a copy, it does not. It clearly says the the pool will be heated so long as the temperature is greater than 60. We requested a refund for the pool, and we were denied. It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it was $400 just to heat the pool. I will say that the property was beautiful and well maintained. The location was great as well. Lots of fun activities and amenities near by. However, I would highly recommend looking at different property management firms as this one was dishonest. We are definitely going back to Myrtle Beach, but we will stay clear of Sea Star Realty! read more

Hope cottage is the worst place I have ever stayed at we rented it for a week and in game room there was mold on the ac unit and the place didn't look like it got cleaned. There was also random stuff in one of the rooms read more

The fans did nothing but blow the already hot air in us. The blatant disrespect to my mother and family from sea star horrible. You need a different company to manage your unit. The pictures and descriptions are misleading at best. I didn't enjoy the decor of the place. For what it's worth that was the best part of our stay. Vacation planners please be cautious when working with this company. Sea Star is unable to effectively address any issues you may have at your rental property, and when you contact them multiple days in a row with continued problems they will simply tell you that it is in your contract that they don't need to take any action to make your lost days right outside of contacting third parties for repair. They cannot manage repair companies so if you are in a beach area in 95 degree weather and the HVAC units do not work, there is no correction for it until a third party, who you as a renter are not permitted to speak with, addresses it. This goes for HVAC issues, stagnant water in washing machines (for days), and breaker trips. These issues are related to basic amenities one would expect when agreeing to pay a significant sum for a beach rental. Be very cautious and I would recommend selecting another, more customer friendly, company or platform for your vacation rental needs. read more

Southern Breeze is the worst rental I've ever stayed at. Was told that we couldn't check in before 4 since a supervisor needed to inspect the property before it could be occupied. Nothing in the description is accurate other than the address ! The carpet in all 5 bedrooms and the hallway was by far the dirtiest I've ever seen. The master carpet was so dirty I bought carpet cleaner and cleaned it myself. The bar stools & one of the dinning room chairs were dirty & stained. All the walls need a good scrubbing . I don't think they've cleaned the property since the end of last season. When we arrived the pool was green . They sent someone out that night when we called to inform them . Finally on Friday the pool was clear after several more cleanings. I was appalled that they charged me $200 for a pet fee for my 12# Cavalier since it was obvious that every dog before her had used this home as a indoor potty. They did say they would send a cleaning crew on Monday to take care of the issues. No one in our party of 10 , 3 different families wanted to wait all day to have cleaning done that should have already been done prior to our arrival. Beach Haven Review 730 Parker Dr, Pawleys Island, SC 16-23 March 2024 We entered the house at the earliest check in time, 4:00 PM. First and foremost, I cannot explain the heart-wrenching feeling when we first walked into Beach Haven and saw southern roaches alive and dead in multiple locations, multiple floors. We were then greeted with multiple snake-skins and overall mess in the garage area... With our family coming in from multiple locations across the east coast, the only thing we could do was clean. The Sea Star offices were closed, we left a message, and followed up Monday. There was an emergency number that was available on the weekends that we used due to the garage door not closing. We were offered to have cleaning services, but no way I wanted to have strangers now going through 10 of my family's belongings... and we already spent hours cleaning ourselves at that point. We cleaned each room the best we could before family began to arrive. Luckily, we found a vacuum cleaner under a mess of cushions jammed in a closet. The vacuum canister was full of repulsive crap that had not been emptied in what looked like months. Behind/under much of the furniture was an assortment of southern roaches, other dead bugs, and filth. Both inside stairways had dead roaches and dirt. In the bedroom, there were (2) prescription type pills on the floor. Many of the blinds were broken and could not be closed/opened. Bed comforters were thrown into closets on the dirty floor with no concern for cleanliness. In the kitchen plates were full of mold and when we loaded them into the dishwasher, we found it was broken and could not be repaired. The water filter in the refrigerator was expired. We literally vacuumed each room pulling furniture out from the wall and cleaning what was absolutely disgusting behind and under. We opened the porch doors and the furniture was not covered and nasty dirty. One of the love-seats has a broken leg and not useable. It was something that no one took any time to prepare for guest/renters. The next day we took over an hour to clean/sweep the garage, hide the snake-skins from all, and pickup pool/beech toys. Again, no one had any thought of making this presentable to families coming in as a perceived high-end vacation destination. On Monday during standard business hours, we received a call from Sea Star. We spoke to a woman who was like a recording: we can send someone out for the cleaning and broken equipment... we asked to speak with the manager and finally after many interactions spoke with Taylor, the Office Manager. We attempted to explain to Taylor how many things were broken, the mess/disgust, and were talking to deaf ears. She was like a recording of, we will send someone out to clean, and we will send someone out to fix, and we will really do nothing for you. We were literally on the phone for 20 minutes with Taylor talking to a wall. I think there is a book they just refer to for customers that are calling in for a hint of empathy. With all of that stated: - Garage Door sensor failing and not allowing door to shut (repaired Monday) - Refrigerator water filter has expired (replaced Monday) - Dishwasher not functional (parts ordered, no repair) - Pool lights are not functional (attempted/failed repair) - Dishes in cupboard, plates, bowls, etc. had mold and had to be washed by hand - Ground level room with access to pool has mold/mildew smell, not a place to spend any time without needing a trip to the ER with respiratory failure - Shades throughout house non-functional - The shower area by pool for washing off sand/changing was so nasty/disgusting no one would even enter In the end, Taylor offered $200 for cleaning fees and their team offered a small container of dish washing soap to wash all dishes by hand. Never, never again will we use this service. The customer facing team has no compassion for what this does to a family coming in for a vacation at Pawley's Island. I said to Taylor I hoped this was an exception and not the norm, then read other reviews with very similar results. This management team should be ashamed for allowing this to happen. I stayed at one of the Portofino IV propertie summer of 2022. Before staying at the rental, I prepared myself by reading the reviews. The other reviews I read seemed picky, however they are accurate! I called the realty company in advance to address any problems in advance but they rehearse responses: "If you have any problems during your stay, call us and we will dispatch someone to address it." The property advertises a washer and dryer. I asked if the washer was high-efficiency in order to bring the right kind of detergent. Sea Star Realty said they didn't know. However, when we arrived they gave us a welcome package with laundry detergent. So...they didn't know what kind of washing machine they had, but they provided detergent? I would think that someone could think through this and determine what kind of washer was on premises. I was trying to plan my vacation in advance, but no one could answer BASIC questions. Before I left for vacation, I asked what kind of coffee maker they had. They stated it was a traditional 8-10 cup brewing machine. So we packed OUR Keurig Coffee maker in order to use it instead. However, when we arrived, there were 4 coffee makers: two traditional brewers, and two small Keurig's. Our coffee maker was the 5th. The realty company is not aware of what is on the property. We used our Keurig coffee maker, because ours was CLEAN compared to what they have. When we arrived, we lacked linens, wash cloths, and towels. We called. It was after 9 PM before we received them. The last thing you want after traveling all day. This is after a long day of traveling. However, by the end of the week we realized there were TOO many problems for this to have been a simple clerical error. There are fundamental problems with Sea Star Realty. The rental agency does NOT work on Sundays. Unless it's an emergency, you have to leave a voicemail. They also do not work holidays! So, keep this in mind if you're book over Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day. At least hotels are staffed 24 x 7 x 365. This "professional" place is not. The Portofino IV property is not clean. The cleaning service wiped the counters, vacuumed, but missed several areas and they don't dust. The window seals, blinds and hard to reach areas are FILTHY; they haven't been cleaned in YEARS. Places like closets, laundry area, underneath the tables and bed are dirty. They have dust, cobwebs, sand from the beach. Even one of my TEENAGE boys commented on how sandy and dirty it was. Again, my teenage son (whose room at home is a disaster) thought this place was dirty. The carpets are dated, and could be a problem for someone with ALLERGIES. They were also dirty when we arrived. Fortunately there was a vacuum cleaner and we vacuumed the rugs ourselves. Yes, we cleaned the house before we settled in. There are two Lazy Susan cabinets in the kitchen. They are broken and don't rotate well. We cook a lot. Be aware that some of the cookware is fine, but others like the sheet pan are dirty, RUSTED and bent. If you're eating out you'll be fine, but it will be challenging to prepare meals here. Also the kitchen is a galley kitchen and is small. The refrigerator is small relative to the size of the house. For a house that can hold 15+ people it doesn't meet the needs of a group this size. Our refrigerator was crammed full all week, and we shopped 5 out of 7 days to keep it stocked. In addition, we had to rely on multiple coolers to refrigerate our food. There is a loose plank by the front door. It is a tripping hazard. We have two in our party that are over 80 years old. This is bad. Wicker furniture is broken, so we loved out of our suitcases. 4 people. 4 suitcases. 1 room. Very cramped. Problems from previous reviewers are still a problem. The master sink is STILL stopped up months later I called the realty company 6+ times while we were there. They said they would address them. However they called saying there was an emergency and couldn't make it, but we were next. A week later no one ever arrived to solve the problems. The day we were leaving a Sea Star car blocked us in the property preventing us from leaving and the car owner disappeared into another property. Sea Star Realty refused to give us a late checkout even though we couldn't leave and their employee/contractor was the root of the problem. They threatened us with a late fee even though they were the problem. How can so many things can be wrong in such a short period of time? My family uses Airbnb and VRBO frequently on vacations. I know what a professional agency is and what is not. Sea Star Realty falls into the latter category. You are just a number to Sea Star Realty. You are just another renter in the turnstyle of vacation property rentals. Sadly, they are the most unprofessional, least communicative, and worst run agency I have ever experienced in all my years of renting. read more

Worse rental company ever. The description was full of lies. No steps to access beach, no inlet front gazebo as stated and no free standing ice maker. When I called, Taylor said they weren't responsible for typos or incorrect descriptions. I told her it was blatant lies. We had the county code enforcement come by and found numerous issues. We had to endure 3 days of people in and out fixing a lot of issues. The local tv station came by and did a feature on TV about the issues we had. We paid almost $6000 and they gave us $500 back. Never again to Hope Cottage and Sea Star Realty... My mother rented Hope Cottage a full week in June for our family. After arriving, it was clear the place is overpriced by at least 2K-3K per week. The pictures and description on the website make the place look and sound a LOT newer and nicer than it is in reality. We arrived on a Saturday to broken AC units for both the upstairs and downstairs. It was hot outside so you can probably imagine what it felt like inside and the living room ceiling fan didn't work either. This was inconvenient for most of us but my dad has COPD. Situations like this make it very difficult for him to breathe. My mother had also selected this home, because it had an elevator he could use. This too, on arrival, wasn't working. Aside from these things the wall oven was broken, the toaster didn't work (we later found the issue was a bad electrical outlet) and hot water in the showers was lukewarm. Overall, a pretty miserable experience for the premium price paid. I worked with the manager Taylor at Sea Star Realty on the critical issues regarding AC, living room fan and elevator. After speaking with her a couple of different times I realized management doesn't really have the expertise or passion necessary to provide a level of customer service on par for the rates they're charging customers. They rely on customers to do the heavy lifting by reporting issues and following up on work requests rather than putting simple, proactive processes in place to catch the issues before the customer arrives. Despite these unacceptable issues, Taylor showed little interest in taking care of us as customers. Not only was our request for a reasonable 20% discount denied, but compensation wasn't offered at any level. Lesson learned and I'll be filing a BBB complaint. I'll leave this review on a positive note and say it was nice to be so close to the beach and our family just loves Garden City beach! We've used Garden City Realty in the past and they have always been great so we'll continue to use them in the future and I recommend them to others as well! read more

Hello, I am very dissatisfied with our experience using VRBO and Sea Star Realty. My family booked a house big enough for 12 people in December 2021 for our July 2022 vacation. We found out 4 days before our trip that our house was double booked. The family that got to stay in the house we booked in December, didn't make their reservation until January 2022. However, we were told there wasn't anything they could do. In order to find a house 4 days before leaving for vacation, we had to book a house that was 2,000 more than the first house. This was not our choice as there weren't many options to choose from. In addition, this house wasn't as nice as our first house. The first house had a private pool and our new house had a shared pool. VRBO also advertised our new house as having 3 king beds. When we arrive at the house, 2 of the 3 king beds weren't actually king beds. They were 2 single beds pushed together. Long story short, I am still fighting with them to pay for the $2,000 price difference because this was their mistake which cause a lot of unnecessary stress! I will never use VRBO and/or Sea Star Realty again if this problem doesn't get fixed, and I will be share to tell others about our horrible experience! read more

This realty company cancelled my reservation after booking claiming that they wanted to charge and additional $3,500 more than the previous pre-paid and booked price in Surfside Beach. I would highly recommend using another realty company as this company can cancel your reservation or try and change your previously booked price at anytime. My family and I (7 adults, 1 child) stayed in A Shining Pearl (1502 N. Waccamaw Dr.; Murrells Inlet, SC 29576) in early May 2021. We were looking forward to our first vacation since COVID and were happy to find this rental. The home itself has a lot of potential, but our stay left a lot to be desired. In summary, we had issues with the following during our stay: · Cleanliness of the home even though they were supposedly following stricter cleaning protocols due to COVID. Refrigerator wasn't fully cleaned, there were crumbs on the stained couches, there was hair in the shower, and one of the comforters was stained. This didn't make us feel confident that the rest of the house had been properly sanitized. They offered to send someone to re-clean, but didn't have a time horizon and we didn't have time to wait (food we'd brought in coolers needed to be refrigerated). It also took two days to have someone properly clean and service the pool (see below), so we wouldn't have wanted to wait that long to feel like the home we were in was clean and properly sanitized. So, we spent time upon arrival cleaning it ourselves instead of jumping right into our vacation. · Outstanding maintenance items such as missing remotes/TVs needing to be reprogrammed, which I had to discover and help fix. · Pool heater was inoperable (we'd paid extra for heat), the pool was dirty with a greenish tint, and it wasn't cleaned/treated until the 3rd day of our 5 day vacation · Inoperable elevator - we had three family members over 70 and two have chronic health and mobility issues, making the stairs to get in/out/through the house incredibly challenging to navigate. The house was on stilts, and an elevator was mandatory due to these mobility issues, but we were not able to use the elevator. One family member ended up mostly staying in the house because of this. · Constant management of issues with the rental since I was in daily contact with them (and in constant contact for the first 4 hours upon arrival), which regularly took us out of vacation mode Our family lost so much of our precious vacation time together dealing with issues and/or without the use of multiple amenities that we paid a premium for. Over the past month, I have made several attempts to resolve issues with Sea Star (including with the owner directly since he gave me his contact info on our departure day), and simply requested a partial refund of 25% since that's really the only remedy (no other homes were available for us to use during our stay). The refund was to compensate for the missing amenities and the quality of the services they provided as a rental agency (cleanliness, maintenance, etc.). However, they refuse to do anything to compensate for the extreme inconvenience and loss of enjoyment. If the home you rent is in great condition (ours definitely looked to be) and you don't need Sea Star to do anything during your stay, you'll be ok. However, if there are issues of any sort - even significant ones - be prepared that they may not be resolved/compensated for. I haven't used any other agencies in the area, but if we return, I definitely would not be working with Sea Star again. read more

We currently stayed at the southern sandbox August 20-27th. Upon our arrival the house smelled very musty and not clean. After inspecting the house we found the floors to be filthy. Everyone's feet were black. I understand it is a beach house so some sand does not come up, but my feet and my 2 children feet who are toddlers should not have been this way. There were dirty towels still in the washer, and under a dresser and nightstand were a pair of womens underwear and 2 pairs of socks. For over $5000 I'd expect to not have to mop the house I'm staying in or find nasty dirty underwear that is not mine. That to me tells me the house was not cleaned well at all. We left the house cleaner than we found it, which is saying something. I have pictures of everything. It's unacceptable. We did tell the office that the floors were dirty, and they said they would send a cleaning crew back in. I opted out because that would entail moving 10 people from the house for however long including 2 toddlers and a newborn. And all of our belongings which as you can imagine were a lot for 10 people. It should've been cleaned the first time that's why we couldn't check in until after 4 according to the website and per the agreement. Our stay was obviously not interrupted by this, but I shouldn't have my toddler bring me a pair of dirty underwear that doesn't belong to anyone in the house. I'd never recommend again. After emailing this to them as well the response was.... We have told our cleaning crew it's unacceptable. Thanks. But what if your toddler brought you someone's underwear that wasn't yours. This company is horrible! I recently stayed in one of their homes. Outside of home was dirty upon arrival and had broken and dirty furniture . Inside of house had many huge palmetto bugs. Flying roaches everywhere and an electrical panel that needed repair. When I complained to staff about these concerns and several others they were often rude and inconsistent with responding to my complaints. They were absolutely horrible. The company also inconsistently responds to calls made to their APP or left on their voicemail. At one point I asked for a refund due to the numerous complaints I had with the house, especially the roaches... they refused... hung up phone on me and were nasty! They truly ruined my family vacation! Be advised, I encourage everyone to carefully read their contract. They have written in provisions that basically allows them to be negligent and not respond properly to your concern. Many have complained about this company and have posted this information to many websites and sent complaints to the Better Business Bureau. I have been vacationing with my family for over 15 years at Garden City and Surfside Beach... never have I been treated so poorly by a company and never have I had roaches in any of the homes I've rented over the years! I will never use this company again and plan to complain at a higher level. I would not recommend the company to anyone! If you want a high quality vacation with staff who are professional and respond to your needs, I do not recommend this company. I can't say enough just how angry and disappointed I am with this company. I spent over $3k to be treated horribly and to vacation in a home that was full of huge palmetto roaches! I wish I had read these reviews before booking a house with this horrible outfit. We reserved a house on 3/3 for a travel date in May. At that time, the Virus was circulating but we didn't know much about it. By the time our travel date arrived, the governor of the state had banned group gatherings of more than 4 people... this house had 8 bedrooms and 8 of us were coming down. When we canceled our reservation, you can be assured that this wonderful business made sure to charge me a cancellation fee of $465 and a credit card fee of $150. No one was to travel mind you, no gatherings to prevent the spread of the virus yet we were stuck and they made sure to reinforce that with me. Spend the few extra bucks and use VRBO. I am not crazy about their fees but as soon as the governor started banning larger groups, VRBO was quick to post on their site all cancellations would be made whole. Sea Star company is only about the money, certainly service is not their thing with the other reviews on here. Don't use them, it's not worth the couple of additional dollars you have to spend to use a reputable rental group. read more

My group reserved a house in Murrell's inlet SC for the last week of July 2021 over a year in advance. We had paid in full 1 and 1/2 half months prior to the start of the Vacation, but then they contacted me to cancel my reservation with less than a month before the vacation start date. They ruined our vacation. They said there was a mix up with owner's reservations for the same week, so they had to cancel ours. I can understand a mix up but less than 3 weeks before the start of our vacation, which was fully paid for is absolutely ridiculous. They had our reservation for over a year. Given that it was high season there was no other property to rent. They obviously don't care about the renter and the owner obviously doesn't care that they ruin a families' vacation. The VRBO property ID is 1829705. I would be wary of renting that unit or using Sea Star Realty in any way. read more

We were slated to begin our vacation tomorrow but had to cancel as my father-in-law is on his deathbed. I opted in for travel insurance, as I always do for all of our vacations. The rental agreement had travel insurance listed in the amount but oddly, it showed my initials as declining it. Sea Star did not get the insurance for us so we are out $3500. They said they adjusted the payment even though it was shown incorrectly on the agreement. Do we have any recourse? read more

House needs professional cleaning and pool needs professional service for both pool and pool furniture. Pool furniture was not usable due to grime. Our family group of 22 rented a last minute Labor Day weekend with Sea Star and we very happy with our rental. The house was very well equipped, our only complaint was that the coffee maker pot had been broken by a previous renter and not replaced, we made quite a mess the first morning but were able to use a smaller one provided. We stayed at the Lucky 7 Lodge which had the most well equipped kitchen of any rental I have stayed at. The house was clean and seemed to be well kept. My only complaint with Sea Star Realty was the 3% fee I was charged for using a credit card and not given an option to pay any other way including a cashiers check prior to arrival. It would be easier for families that are sharing cost and looking in advance that this fee is going to be charged on top of the rental fee advertised online. read more

Do not book through this realtor. They are unprofessional and not in favor I helping renter. During these unprecedented times, sc was put on the quarantine travel list (we live in nj). Not only did we purchase insurance (RedSky insurance which I will be posting a negative review) and denied (medical physician provided documentation that I could not travel to a hotspot; also letters from employers stating we would lose jobs if we traveled) we asked to at least be offered next year option. They said no. Other friends who booked through other realtors received such accommodations. I have filed complaints to the Fair Trade Commission, SC attorney general, NJ attorney General as well as the Better Business Bureau. SAVE YOUR MONEY and BOOK ELSEWHERE!!!! read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Palmetto Blessings. The home is in a great location, close to beach access, a short walk to the Surfside City pier ,restaurants and shops. The home is updated and well maintained with TV's in every bedroom, an open floor plan with large dinning table for our extended family of 7 adults and 2 children. The pool was a great escape after a long day at the beach. The home, pool and property are well maintained and very clean. The kitchen is well stocked with dinnerware, glassware, silverware, coffee maker and bakeware, allowing us to prepare great meals at home for the entire family. The only suggestion we have to improve the internet connectivity to upstairs. We had a few family members needing to connect to work and coverage was spotty upstairs. Not a big deal since this is a vacation home! Again a great family experience staying at Palmetto Blessing and a pleasure to work with SeaStar Reality from booking reservation to checkout. read more

We stayed at Bikini Bottom and were very pleased. House was as advertised, well kept, and very comfortable. We had 2 small issues that were addressed very promptly and satisfactorily. Our contacts with the office were polite, efficient, and friendly. Would recommend highly. Just to note about this specific property, it is perfect for families and pet friendly but not what I'd recommend if you are looking for polished luxury. It's clean but not immaculate, nicely furnished but not elegant which was just perfect if you are looking for casual & comfortable family vacation. read more

Great vacation rental company to work with! Plenty of home inventory in the area we wanted to stay (Surfside Beach & Garden City, SC). Everything was exactly as described on their website. Website also easy to search & book from. The staff was very responsive to our emails and calls. It was our first time using Sea Star but we will use them again! They offered $250 in free beach gear rentals with our booking, which was awesome! High quality beach chairs, umbrellas and we even chose a cornhole game! Lots of choices. My only complaint was the home we chose did not have a pool heater. It was a little chilly during spring break, but, I should have asked about it before booking. We stayed at Sweet Tee for a week in June 2018. Sweet tee was a very nice home, but we were disappointed with how Sea Star dealt with issues. The home was partially cleaned upon our arrival (cleaning staff walked out at 5:30 pm - latest check-in time possible). Microwave was disgustingly dirty, we were never provided with an elevator key, showers and tubs had hair in them, found dirty rag in a bathroom drawer, the pool was only cleaned once during our 7 day stay, the list goes on. I emailed Sea Star owners after we got home and they've never responded - VERY POOR way to operate a business. I don't want to be negative about the house itself - I want the owner to know they should switch to another management company. read more

Very unaccommodating and unprofessional. The house advertised that it slept 20 people and that it had a pool, but the pool was under construction and the house did not accommodate as many as advertised. Stay away. read more

Be careful booking during the Covid-19 pandemic. SeaStar Reality has told me they will not refund or reschedule my nearly $6,000 reservation, that is paid in full, that I cannot use in May due to the pandemic, unless (apparently) the specific town has banned short-term rentals or the reschdule fits the policy of the later date (for example, Summer requires a sat to sat stay). Travel insurance is not the answer to this problem as it only covers actual illness and at least one company has already excluded Covid-19 if the booking was after Jan 2020 due to "known event". read more

Worst company ever!! We have a place rented in Myrtle Beach from March 14-21, 2020 do you think they would give our money back with this pandemic going on??? NOPE!!! Canada where I am from has put out an no travel ban on March 13, 2020 therefore my travel insurance is VOID. Do you think they would give our money back then?? NOPE!!! Their answer is there is no COVID 19 virus here!!! Get that one. I wonder how many people this company tested to say such a thing. This is why the old saying is true IGNORANCE IS BLISS. That is what this company is ignorant. Now today USA and Canada has closed the boarders and this company thinks i should be there right now and be stuck there and not be able to go home till who knows when and on March 21 when they would kick me out where do i go then??? Pay for how much more in hotels cause you know they wouldn't let me stay there for free. So when the going get bad this company will not help you in any way even when their own Country has call a state of emergency they just want MONEY MONEY MONEY this company is GREEDY!!! I just got an email from Darin Lake Six Flags Amusement Park cause we are going there in June no problem with them they said if you Canadian's have a travel ban you can have your money back. Turtle Tides was the house we rented. we check out tomorrow. We have had several issues to include pile of broken blinds laying in front of the house when we arrived. Deck furniture very old and broken. A blind broken and hanging from the master bathroom window. 6 bedrooms were told 4 would have TVs only 2 had TV's. Several more issues.. Could go on and on but just not worth it. read more

This was our third year with Sea Star and while we have never had any major issues with the property this year an air filter needed changing an a return duct cleaned as it was covered with dust and grime. We emailed two contacts the night of our arrival and they said it would be taken care of. This was not a major issue but the blocked air filter and dust could have easily damaged the A/C unit with poor airflow. It was definitely inefficient. They never did come and clean the unit and put in a new filter. Hopefully the next family will have more luck as I submitted a repair comment when we checked out. I will stay with them again but will also check other potentiate properties which I have not done in the past but will now. read more

Stayed in a duplex with a few friends all above 18. Saved up our money to stay here. at 2 am the other side of the duplex got evicted. many of us were drinking yet they Had them move their cars. The police and the realtor suggested that the people from the other side join my side for the night, didn't want to but they had no where else to stay at 2 am. Next morning they evict us for having them stay the night. lying saying we had over 50 people over and that we jumped off the balcony ( never happened). over $10,000 gone no refund after only staying for less than 40 hours. Both houses slept 16 people and we had less than that. 32 people on one property is what we paid for. obviously it's impossible to not have people in and out of the house. This was dangerous of BOTH realtors and many of us could have gotten hurt. don't rent your home out to 16 people if we can't be 16 people. DO NOT rent with these people. read more

I will NEVER rent with sea star again! The home we stayed in (Ocean Star) had several issues. Excessive amount of palmetto bugs, mold, and a leaking shower are only the start of the issues. The ice makers were full of mold. All air vents were growing mold, as well as the subfloor which is visible from below the home. This mold is probably a result of the leaking shower directly above the area. The duct work had holes chewed threw it. When we called and asked for something to be done about the bugs they came to spray. But when the problem continued and we mentioned all of the mold, evidence of previous leak and the issues with the duct work they just continued to ask us if we had left a door open and let the bugs in. The staff was very dismissive. Overall a terrible experience and I will be renting with beach realty next time. For goodness sake, one of our guests woke up with a palmetto bug in her hair! Can you imagine? Gross. read more
