I went paddle boarding on Friday with a group and it was an amazing experience. Steve was super friendly and helpful from the minute I walked in. You have the option of renting equipment there, or bringing your own and paying a small launch fee. I brought my own and the process was simple. Even though I've been paddle boarding before, our trip leader Lauren guided us through safety and paddle board tips. Getting on the water was simple and the views were gorgeous. Our group had an amazing time, I know I absolutely did. I can't believe Sea Trek is so close to me and I've never been here before. We went on a Thursday morning, plenty parking space. We were welcomed by Steve who was helpful and chilled. The store is well organized. We went for kayak. Paddled around the marina and then out on the bay anti clockwise to come back tkt he marina. It took us under an hour and we were going at a slow pace. $35 well spent. We'll be back. Had a fantastic sea kayaking class at Sea Trek in Alameda with the instructor, Dee. The class was excellent, just enough students to be interesting and allow us to rescue each other but small enough to allow for individual coaching and addressing our individual goals and needs. Dee spent time at the beginning reviewing our experience and goals and took time at the end to gather feedback and suggestions for improvement. Parking is in a lot that's free and abundant. The check-in process was pretty easy. They have (no extra cost) dry-bags that you can borrow to place your belongings in. After grabbing a life jacket, head out the door where you'll get a quick briefing on the available routes. At the dock, they launched me out into the waters without any fuss. I appreciate that the employees here know how to "read the room". I noticed that for groups with kids, they were more thorough in their briefings and made sure to hype the kids up. For any adults that looked like they just wanted to get into the water ASAP, they kept it succinct. Overall a very efficient operation. They have purchase options where you can buy a block of (I believe) 5 hours (never expires) at a discounted rate which is a total steal. read more

Sea Trek is a wonderful experience for a first time paddler or a seasoned vet. All of the guides were so willing to help whether it was with gear or technique on paddling. And I appreciated the advice on both. Views in the marina were beautiful, but once we got out into the more open water to watch the sunset and moonrise, I knew my first trip was not going to be my last! I am so happy that I found this community! Try it out for yourself! ***Bring a change of clothes, a fresh towel, and a beanie for after. My partner and I did a moonlight paddle out into the bay and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guides did an excellent job of preparing our group for the trip, outlining our route, noting safety rules, and checking to make sure we all felt confident in the open water. Huge parking lot which makes for easy parking, clean bathrooms and changing rooms, knowledgeable and super help staff who are always happy to help, and all the paddleboard and kayaking gear your heart desires! I am a beginner kayaker and I wasn't sure what to expect, but from the time I arrived until we finished our tour I was guided by the most amazing host. I was offered all the gear I needed to stay dry and comfortable as well as a briefing on what to expect. We paddled through the marina into the open water where we all experienced the most surreal views. Although there were some seasoned paddlers I never felt out of place. We went on a sunset kayak trip to see the bioluminescence in Tomales Bay and it was amazing! Our guide was excellent - super knowledgable about the the geography, fauna, etc. She also treated us with such care and made sure that we were all comfortable (one of our party was quite scared of being on the bay at night and she made sure he felt safe and secure). I took a SUP lesson here and it was great! They provide everything (wetsuit, board, gear), were very helpful with prep and scheduling, and the location is perfect. Beautiful scenery, lots of safe spots to practice, and a whole body workout. My instructor Jo was awesome - funny, supportive, and gave great advice. If you're in the Bay Area you need to get out on the water! I'll definitely take another class or tour in the future, here or at the Sausalito location. read more

This is my favorite place to kayak! The team is knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to help. I'm a novice and started kayaking with Sea Trek at their Alameda location in spring 2024. By spring 2025, I had signed up for one of their Baja trips--an incredible experience I'll never forget. Alameda is a great launch spot, perfect for all skill levels. I often bring friends and family along. The water in Ballena Bay is usually calm, and paddling out into the San Francisco Bay feels like a dream. Best of all, while so much in the Bay Area can be pricey, Sea Trek's rentals are affordable and a great way to enjoy the outdoors and the area without breaking the bank. read more

Unforgettable Family Fun in Alameda! We had an amazing kayaking birthday party, all due to the wonderful team at SeaTrek. They really took care of us (big group of kids and parents). We started off the day with kayaking and came back for pizza and piñata fun at the little patio. Steve and KK really thought of everything. They kept us safe and thought of every detail, even down to providing a first-aid kit just in case the kids fall down while running around. So thoughtful! We of course had fun on the water with kayaking games and swimming for those who didn't want to go into the lagoon. All in all, we couldn't be happier with our experience and were telling everyone how great it was. Special shout out to KC and Ashoka for such a memorable day! Brought my dogs the second time and they had life jackets for them and everything great spot to paddle board, we go through the channel to see the city and let the current take us back around!
