Tomales Bay Kayak Trip Expertly guided by Leo and Brad Meet at 9AM, orientation prep, meet and greet. (small group. yay!) In the water by 10:30 Paddle around the bay on a tour tailored for the participants. See Hog Island, oyster beds, Cormorants, Pelicans, jelly fish, bat rays, star fish, seals, crabs, and other sea critters. Lunch (BYO) Paddle into some coves and a tiny sea cave in the white cliffs. Back by 4pm tired and happy. The guides were knowledgeable about the bay, the wildlife, environmental impact, nature, kayaking, and safety. We were in good hands. It was a much better trip than if we had just rented two kayaks and noodled around all day. They made it fun informative and friendly. While in between sights, we learned a lot of useful kayaking tips. The equipment isn't top notch, but is clean and in operable condition. The worst thing was the seat. My ass didn't deserve that kind of punishment. It has better karma than that. Lastly- I forgot my own advice and cut the cheese in my wetsuit again. Dammit!!!! As a reminder to all similarly minded people- 1. It's a time delay death bomb. 2. You only hurt yourself. 3. The wetsuit mutes the sound, but the kayak amplifies it by 10.

Staycation? Weekend warrior? This is the place to be today!

I learned to sail dingies then raced them, years ago. Greatly appreciate the classes and generous rentals.

My 12-year-old son and I had a fantastic private SUP (stand up paddleboard) lesson w/Kyle Winslow today.

The last time we rafted Middle Fork American was on a cold, gloomy, drizzling day in October 2019 - so we had to give it another go in warmer weather. This time around was just as memorable. Two of us in the boat ended up falling out in the water at Tunnel Chute, which happened so fast that I barely knew what had happened - thankfully, there was a nice calmer stretch of water right after through the river tunnel, so we were easily able to get back into the raft. (Thank you to our guide, Troy, for hauling me back in, and for being an awesome guide in general!) Plus this was one of the photographer spots, so the action was all captured for us to laugh about later. Later, after our tasty sandwich picnic lunch, we had a few unexpected events happen, starting from the portage down Ruck-a-Chucky Falls. Shout-out to all three guides in our group - Troy, Shea, and AJ - for handling things so calmly and getting us all back where we were supposed to be! We had plenty of calm stretches floating down the river as well. The canyon is beautiful and quite peaceful. We saw a ton of dragonflies flying above our heads, masked ducks chilling on rocks and diving underwater, and wild grapes and blackberries growing alongside the river. We'll be back again for another trip with All-Outdoors! Maybe we'll try a 2-day or 3-day trip next time.

This is run by a lovely, local couple who almost felt like family in the short time we were there. They boosted the confidence of my son with reassurance and also took the time to help us get back to our vehicle after it unexpectedly broke down on our way to the river. Just wanted to say they are really good people. They also gave us great guidance to navigate the river with quality equipment!

While we have used different outfits lately - we had a great experience with Russian River Adventures a few years back, so we came in excited to return. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing, mainly due to poor planning by the staff. We booked for four people on a Thursday - my wife, myself, and our two teens (14 and 16)--with the expectation that we'd have two boats, which is standard for this group size. However, the team miscounted the boats that morning. When we pointed this out, instead of fixing the mistake, they pulled us aside and crammed all four of us into a boat intended for three, squeezing in an extra seat to make it "fit." Visibly frustrated, the team promised to speak with the owner and make it right (it was two high schoolers running it that day). I didn't argue and wanted to at least try to have a good time and not be that Dad. The result on the boat? A very cramped and uncomfortable setup that made the inflatable much harder to steer and navigate--especially on a 9-mile river trip. This wasn't the experience we paid for or expected based on our prior trips. The staff seemed more focused on moving us along rather than making it right. Still haven't heard from the owner. We'll likely explore other options next time around. Disappointed to see the service slip like this.

5 Stars - Outstanding Backcountry Experience in Lassen I…read morejust returned from a weekend of guided backcountry skiing with the outdoor adventure club in Lassen Park, and it exceeded all expectations. The trip was exceptionally well organized from start to finish. Our guide, Richard, was excellent--not only in leading us through the backcountry terrain but also in smoothly handling any logistical issues that came up. I learned a tremendous amount about backcountry access, avalanche assessment, and understanding danger in the field. Having the park essentially to ourselves made the experience even more special. The food and lodging were both great, providing comfort after long days in the snow. Most importantly, this trip taught me a lot about myself and my limits in the backcountry environment. Special thanks to Richard for professionally managing my health issues during the trip while keeping the experience fun and seamless for all the other participants. Highly recommended for anyone looking to develop their backcountry skills in a supportive, well-run environment. This trip is an unforgettable experience that no words can do justice to my feelings and thoughts of my journey. It is a bucket list check off for sure and a milestone in my life. It was more than a backpacking trip, the conversations and scenery made me reflect on me, my life, and what's important moving forward. My husband is now eager to backpack and join OAC after my stories and pictures of my journey. I appreciate our guide, Mike Boyd. WOW! I'm in awe of how he led us (with a very heavy bag and a big smile) in situations that others might doubt whether we would even make it to our next camping spot, however, he did with his grit, determination, patience, and love. With our teamwork and collaboration plus sense of humor and the motto of "never leaving the team behind" made me realize why OAC is so special. I will definitely keep in touch with Mike, Richard, and some of the OAC members. Who knows I might see them again on our next adventure. I highly recommend joining OAC and start making memories.
