We are…read morea Christian couple in our 40s and 50s with a 9 year old daughter, and here is what we love about the church: 1) The band and the music is amazing. We are fans of Christian rock and we are so impressed by the talent and passion of the musicians. We can't help but feel the spirit and sing, dance and sometimes cry along. 2) The kids program is the best in the Westside. There is a four story kids building on the campus and the teachers make it fun with games, video Biblical stories, crafts and meaningful write-ups for children to engage. 3) The church is very welcoming. Every Sunday, new members are encouraged to register and connect. The church then invites you to a welcome lunch with the pastor and to join a small group or topic based event / prgoram. We just signed up for a 3 month Sacred Marriage Group. One of the volunteers also took us for a tour of the church and campus on our first visit, and there is coffee available for the community. After the music portion, you are asked to greet and get to know someone new next to you. It's very sweet and Community oriented. 4) The sermons are action-oriented and based in biblical stories and teachings. We are given a way to reflect and take action each week, which is a nice way to absorb the learnings from the sermon. I do like the Biblical readings and translations and would love even more of this because I feel the Biblical teachings ground us in the source substance and weight. We look forward to experiencing more and are grateful to have found a gentle and spiritual home for our family

They are constantly giving opportunities to meet others also. For many years (20+) I didn't go to church at all until I found JOF and fell in love. We moved away and miss this church so much and sometimes make the long drive to come back. We went for about 18 months every Sunday. I simply cannot believe other people on here gave it a bad review, so odd. The worship is incredible and if you're coming in late you're really missing the chance to be properly warmed up to hear the message!!

They are welcoming and will get you connected with others in the church who you share common interests with to foster relationships. 2. They offer programs for all members of your family - women's Bible Study daytime and evening options as well as monthly socials, men's Bible study and poker night, youth group, Sunday school, volunteer opportunities etc. 3. They preach from the Bible and offer relatable sermons. Pastor Peter who just took over after Pastor Mark retired offers insightful messages each week. 4. They have awesome contemporary music at the 10am service.

When I brought these issues up with church leadership they were dismissive and defensive, in no way acknowledging the seriousness of their breach of trust, or the impact it would have on multiple people's spiritual walk. In fact, they clammed up and went silent mode instead of being sure the issue was resolved with love and respect for the membership of the church.

There were multiple people made an effort to say hello and genuinely took an interest in me even though they did not know me. Time of Service: 11:35-1:00 Worship Music: The worship music was amazing! With contemporary christian music, they had a full band that played with excellence as the singers helped to create a great space for worship. The crowd was involved and it lasted for four songs. - category: contemporary Christian / Praise & Worship - instrumentation type: full band - drums, bass, piano, keys, acoustic & electric guitar - quality: phenomenal - crowd engagement: quite involved - duration: 4 songs Sermon - The head pastor preached on a series focused on the book, The Story, in which the congregation has been reading together for many weeks. It did feel a little empty as the congregation only filled 30-40% of the chairs. Environment (what it looked like) It is a large contemporary SDA church building with the sanctuary that is well-lit with natural lighting. The cushioned seats were organized in a stadium-seating fashion with only 30-40% filled with the congregation. It has a great sound system with concert lighting and use of projector for lyrics for songs, announcements, and sermon notes. The service was also recorded and available via online streaming site. Attended the Second Service - For Order of service, see program/bulletin The SDA service felt uplifting, inspiring, and energizing as the music and the excitement of those that spoke radiated throughout the hour and half. It is a more contemporary service, however, feels compartmentalized as the flow of service begins with music and continues with announcements, and an offering, then the sermon. If anything, it slightly disrupts the worship experience. All together though, it is a relevant and impacting service that definitely lifts your spirits for the week. Demographics - ages: even mix of infants, elementary, middle & high school aged families, young adults and 40+ adults in congregation. - family oriented: yes - attendance: 60-70 in attendance - single ethnicity / multiple: mix of but not limited to Caucasian, Asian / Pacific Islander, Hispanic / Latino, European, African / African American, Caribbean - dress / attire: casual (shorts and t-shirt ok) - business dress *potlucks (once/month): amazing and delicious variation of vegetarian and vegan dishes from different cultures.

He doesn't pretend to have it all together, and his vulnerability makes his teaching relatable. His messages are practical and grounded in the Word. Bridge South Bay's worship is top notch. The church has always been blessed with gifted worship leaders, and Pastor Corina is no exception. She has a gift for leading people into a heartfelt time of worship that keeps the focus on the Lord. The congregation is welcoming and made up of mature believers, many of whom have walked through life's hardships and victories together. The church has ministries for babies and younger kids, and Pastor Jonathan does a great job with students. The area where the church could grow is in its young adult ministry. The preaching is good, the music isn't too loud for the people with hearing aids, and I like how people are given the opportunity to take Communion every week if they choose. His his wife Novia (behind every great man....)the work she does with kids! the time, the LOVE...her heart of hearts is golden and kind. She always gives to other people, she has been there for me no matter which way my life turns, she's always there she's never forsaken me, standing strongly by my side no matter what I need. She's remarkable I am so grateful to know them and be a part of BAYCITIES church. The first time I walked in the door I was nervous and I felt loved, accepted, a part of, a solid Christian Community. I now live on the island of Maui and unfortunately have not been able to find a church group that I can feel so loved accepted and part of, where I have guidance and support and love no matter what. I'll keep looking. Nothing will ever take the place of Bay Cities Community Church, it's so very special. If you've never been there you have to go and you'll never want to leave.
