Well, as with most things spur of the minute, this particular fishing charter turned out to be one of the most SPECTACULAR days we've had in years! The weather was just awful, but Captain Chris was a cheery as a sunny day and knew more about fishing in Lake Michigan than most other captains we've run across. Captain Chris' extensive knowledge of the lake, conditions and favorite fishing areas, helped us to limit out in about 2 1/2 hours!!! We caught our maximum of King Salmon and 3 Coho for a combined total of approximately 250 pounds+ of fish!! A phenom day was had by all of us. It was freezing cold and pouring rain, but our spirits were constantly buoyed by Captain Chris and he truly not only guided us in how to fish, but how to really get in there and "hook em' and reel em' in"!!!!! It was fabulous!! Each one of us can hardly wait to return and have that wonderful time again - or look forward to another kind of fabulous day - all with Captain Chris and his fishing charter!! We all know that fish don't always bite the same, but the thought of going with Captain Chris again and at least trying to replicate our catch will be one that we anticipate for quite a while!!! Captain Chris not only cheerfully carried our VERY heavy cooler off the boat, but then proceeded to expertly and quickly prepare and fillet our catch for us to take home to share and enjoy! We are SO happy to have found Chris - we will continue to only use him for the foreseeable future and recommend others do the same - you will NOT be disappointed!!! Captain Chris Rose of SeaCrete Charters was great ... he went further out to find the best fishing locations. We landed so many king salmon our arms ached! We knew we were in for a good day when the first fish (coho salmon) hit the bait before Capt. Chris had even finished setting up the first rod (the bait was in the water, but he had not even put down the rod.) This was immediately followed by another hit (King Salmon) on the same rod as soon as it was set up. As we were fighting the first King, a second rod (which was just set up) hit ... with another King! Incredibly, a third King was on the hook on our third rod before our first King was landed. (We fought the first monster for 29 minutes!) While the feat of having 3 King Salmon on the line at the same time was not repeated after that, we were so exhausted and tired we asked Capt. Chris to end the trip an hour before we needed to. (It was also getting cold.) He then proceed to filet all the fish and we brought home 3 coolers of fish! What a trip. Highly recommended. Horrible Horrible experience with this business. I sent the deposit to book a trip, the guy Chris cancelled the trip due to weather and asked me to send the address so he can send the depost back (because he is 'closed for the season'), see attached excerpt from the text he sent. The check never arrived and he(Chris) stopped responding to the text and call when I tried to inquire about the refund. Finally I was able to get hold of him after a week or so and he said that he 'stopped sending the check back. due to fuel surcharge. He never mentioned once about the fuel surcharge and its only after I called him and asked about the refund for the deposit that he pulled this excuse for not returing the money. How come 'business' like this are allowed to operate and steal money from consumers without providing service in first place? read more

We had an awesome experience with Captain Chris Rose and mate Shawn. Captain Chris was quick to advise when weather on Lake Michigan was marginal and was very flexible in offering a refund or rescheduling our trip. We rescheduled and could not have had a better time. The fishing was great and the crew was extremely patient and professional with our 3 novice female anglers. We had a great time fishing and a beautiful sunset cruise on a gorgeous Lake Michigan day. We just finished our 8th trip with Captain Chris in 7 years. In that time I've had two pickup trucks, 4 girlfriends, changed brands of toothpaste and deodorant many times. Captain Chris was great! He put in the effort to set us up to succeed and boy did we ever! In fact, in the middle of a crazy run of 5+ lines being reeled, Chris had enough sense to look at his GPS to understand where we were on the lake. We ended up heading back to that same area later in the day and we had another crazy run of bites! We had 3 boys under 8 on the trip and he was patient and playful with them as well. read more

Do not trust this captain. We drove all the way from Arizona, after giving him a deposit and he canceled our trip. There were five other boats we saw go out that morning, the weather was not bad at all. He has refused to return our deposit. That is just not right. We ha e contacted DNR and local police. read more

Even better than expected. We showed up exactly when captain Chris suggested, then proceed to have a blast. My younger skon limited out in his first trip. We caught a king salmon, five chinook salmon, and a mess of steelhead, and lake trout. Wow, what a trip. Thanks Chris and Tony. read more
