I find it quite hard to get good fish and chips in London. Either ridiculously overpriced or with bad batter, there isn't anywhere that seems to get it right. Coming from a dock town 'oop north' (sort of, more oop middle and right a bit) where fish n chips was practically staple diet and the fish were still wet from the sea when they went in the fryer, craving decent fish n chips is a cross I have to bear.
But finally I have found somewhere where the batter is gorgeous and crispy, nice chunky fish and fab fab chips. big, slightly squashy, and full of fat. mmmmm. the best, with loads of salt and vinegar and ketchup... a diet destroying feast! The other great thing about this place is their kebabs. The best ever, not greasy just good with fresh salad, garlic and chilli sauce, you don't even have to be drunk to enjoy these, I've had them sober!
Recommend the burgers too, laden with salad and both mayo and ketchup (but not touching cos that just makes seafood sauce). Theres also falafal in pitta with hummous and salad... the list goes on. Good bad food! read more
