OVERALL This is a great playground for families with small children. ENVIRONMENT The Seal Beach Pier Playground is - you guessed it - right next to Seal Beach Pier. The playground is enclosed by an adorable brick and mortar fence with hand painted tiles circa 1993 by nearby residents. There are two gates, one being a bit larger for strollers. The playground itself is small, however, it suits younger children just fine. My 7 and 8-year-old enjoyed the swings & playing tag with other kiddos on the structure and around the two life-like seal sculptures. There are baby swings too. The restaurants here are low-key and there are kid's menus at several of them. I suggest just taking a walk down the pier to watch the sunset. SERVICE There are not any staff members on watch duty nearby. There is always an officer driving around checking cars for paid parking. You've been warned. Lol. MY FAVORITE PART... How close to the beach it is... Take turns with the other parent so they can take a peaceful walk with their toes in the sand. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... I've heard that the restrooms nearby can get dirty fast. PARKING There is some free street parking nearby, but it is a trek with kids. There are also lots on either side of the pier that you'll need to pay at the kiosk before adventuring. Bring lots of coins or cards are accepted. Snap a photo of your license plate if you don't already have it memorized because you'll have to enter it when you pay. read more

Very cute little set up next to the seal watch pier. You get that gorgeous ocean view while watching your little ones as well. It's mostly suited for younger children maybe 8-9 and under. They will def keep the kids busy. You can find free parking in the street but I believe the maximum time allowed is about 2 hours. So it's a hassle to move the vehicle if you are planing on staying longer than two hours. So you can pay for parking in the parking lot located on the other side of the pier. & for the street parking, I believe after 6 you can park there for as long as you'd like. Def check it out! The playground is gated so it gives some extra security while watching little ones. read more

Really love this playground. Reminds me of another playground that I love in Seal beach, as its perimeter is surrounded by art tiles made my kiddos. Fenced off area, and I have to say the big standouts is the community. Both times I have come here, the other parents have been super friendly. It really feels like a pre-k of sorts, which I love. Swings for babies and older kiddos as well and two seal statues, that kiddos love to climb. The playground has short slides and a bit longer slides, as well, so great for younger and older kiddos. It also has this fun bell that kiddos love to play with, as well. I also love that the beach is right there, so if you or your kiddo gets tired of the playground, there's the beach! Relatively safe area, great location with main street right there, as well. I'll be back! read more

This is a cute little playground right on the beach. I wouldn't drive there just for the playground but it's a nice added bonus before or after a beach day. There is a parking lot ($2/hour) for the beach and there is also nearby street parking (up to 2 hours, free) if you get lucky and score a spot. I took a fresh pic since all the pictures on here seem to be from before the park was renovated. There are two big-ish slides, two smaller slides and lots of climbing things. There are also two big-kid swings and two baby swings and some seal statues to climb on. It kept our kid busy for 25 minutes after a trip to the adjoining beach. There are bathrooms nearby but they are beach bathrooms for what seems to be a VERY popular beach so, you know, be warned. read more

This playground is nice, with enclosed and fenced in area you could just eyes off and let the kids have some fun and play. Parking was good, although we were here pretty early in the morning to avoid the sun getting too hot for the kids. Being only 30 minutes away from home, GPS said 37 minutes but there's literally no traffic in the morning. Nice to be so close and just enjoy the weather and let the kids play outside. Nice ocean breeze and lots of people just enjoying their day! Pros for paying to live close to the beach. This is probably just as close as Newport. They don't have many stores, shops or stuff here but it's nice. Every beach has its gems to look for. read more

First time at seal beach at loved it...they have a playground for my kids and the beach waves are perfect

What I love about this playground is that is right next to the beach. There is a fence and gate around it with benches inside . It is colorful , with different equipment painted various bright colors . It gets plenty of use, especially on week-ends. It's safe for the kids and never overly crowded. It has a small town feel to it. Perfect for visitors . The kids look happy!! So do the parents . Lots of sun but with an ocean breeze . Across from Main Street , near the pier. Once the kids outgrow the playground they can learn to surf! Good job Seal Beach. read more

Great playground right next to the seal beach pier. My son enjoyed some play time on Monday. Great location on the beach with a beautiful view. Many families with their children are always present but never over crowded and my son has no problem making friends here. Place is kept quite clean and has plenty of different equipment that is very colorful. The playground has a nice wall around and a gate that is kept closed so your children don't run out to the parking lot making it quite safe. Bathroom facilities right next door as well right below the pier. And if they should get bored the beach is a couple of steps away !! read more

Had a U2 tribute band evening I was there. Great taco shop across the street from the beach /playground area. Nice family experience.
