We had a problem with our garage door not opening and closing completely. I called Mac Garage Door…read moreCompany ask if they could troubleshoot and fix it. The installation crew that came over recommended replacing the spring, which they did on a return visit ($200). Several days later the door still had the same issues, including the door not going all the way up. I ended up at Lowe's to buy a replacement opener ($200) and had the same people install it ($200). It seemed to fix the problem but only for a few days. The motor made a noticeable humming sound and quit working. I called their office to ask if the installers could come back to my house to troubleshoot. The person who answered said he would send someone over to look at it but after two days of waiting no one appeared. I called another company this time to replace the opener I bought at Lowe's. This company sells a different brand than Lowe's does which works better and is quieter. The installer told me that the chain I bought for the one from Lowe's was for a 7-ft track and not 8-ft, which is in my garage. At this point I'm in for a spring I didn't need, a non-working motor, and another $200 to install it. The latest motor was $750, which included installation. So now, the total bill is $1,350 for a spring I didn't need, a new motor that stopped working, and installation. Mac Garage Doors probably didn't want to send someone to my house to troubleshoot the motor since it wasn't one they sold, but it would have been nice if they were here to look at it and give their recommendation. I even said that I would pay for a service call. So, all-in-all it wasn't a good experience with Mac Garage Doors and won't use them again.

I called a couple companies after reviewing on Yelp and this was one of them. They are locally owned by a guy named Jay. They are responsive and professional. Jay is the new owner of this company so feedback that goes back before this year on follow up is more related to guy that retired. The work quality of this company was never in question and after I accepted my quote, found out they installed the doors on my buddy's new house that I love. One of my openers was flat out broken and they actually sent an installer out and put up one of my new openers three weeks before my doors arrived so that I could use the garage door at no extra charge and that's a beautiful service. Cortez installed - was a one man machine. Other company said they would need 3 installers. That's probably why their quote was so high. I had a really good experience with this company, my results speak for themselves, and I'm very pleased with all the trim work for the cleanup and how everything's functioning and sealed. This is only the second time in my life. I bought a new garage door. Last time was more than 20 years ago, but this process was seamless. Hopefully I will not need a new opener or garage door for a while but any service calls I would want to make would definitely be to this company. Thumbs up.

Like many people searching Yelp for garage door service, I woke up to a broken spring on my two car…read moregarage when I was getting ready to leave for work. Without the spring to counter balance the weight of the door, it is exceptionally heavy and the motor won't open the door. In fact, it was extremely hard to even open manually so I could leave! Precision had decent reviews, so I gave them a shot. I was shocked to call them on a Friday morning and be offered an appointment time slot within two hours! They assured me the tech could come with all the parts for immediate repair, though the person on the phone would not give any ballpark for prices. The tech who arrived wasn't especially friendly, but he was professional. He of course assessed the broken spring but also pointed out other things I had not noticed like a damaged cable and worn out pulleys which he recommended replacing. He offered two different quotes on his iPad, with Option A being only a spring replacement, with no warranty, for about $800 after tax, or Option B being an "overhaul" replacing springs, pulleys, cables, and the roller wheels for $1200, which included a lifetime warranty. Honestly I felt that these prices seemed very high but I have no objective reference point and wanted my door fixed. The actual work was very fast, clean, and working well a week later. If you have time, seek a few quotes, but if you need the work done quickly and professionally, I would say that precision met that definition.
