We rented 2 yurts here on 4/8/17-4/9/17 We paid $74/night for each yurt Each yurt sleeps up to 5 people We all really enjoyed our visit! There were swings, a volleyball court, and horseshoe pits nearby the yurts. We didn't play any of them due to it being slightly wet and muddy outside, but if we come back in the summer, it be so fun! I think it's still considered off season right now, so it seemed pretty quiet around the park. Right across the street is a visitor center. Great place to stop by and enjoy some history of the area! There seems like lots to do around here, and I definitely want to come back and enjoy the trails and what not some more!

Skeeters skeeters everywhere! The camp sites seemed just a tad smaller and closer together than other state parks I've been to, and the restrooms and showers weren't very clean - lots of bugs abound, and no TP. On the plus side, I like that our camp sites were separate from the RV sites, so we didn't get the generator noise, and also the trees seemed a little denser. Also, I highly recommend checking out Mount St. Helens - the hour drive is quite impressive and well worth it. We did a long hike, and it was nice to have a camp site to go home to after!

If your exploring Mt. St. Helen Volcanic National Monument you might have a tough time finding a place to stay over night at. We were lucky enough to have stumbled upon a small Washington state park with a cool yurt village where you could stay in a yurt that can sleep up to six people for a really reasonable price. The location of the village is exactly what you would expect to find in Washington. It is among an old grove forest which surrounds you with beautiful greenery and gives you plenty of shade anytime of the day. There is plenty of trails that take you into the woods which are breathtaking. There is a playground nearby. I love that they have showers here. You have to turn your money into coins here. You park not far from the community of yurts and then you use a wagon to carry your things to your yurt.

Beautiful park .. on both sides of Spirit Lake Highway. I have lived here for the past 2.5 years. Lived here also before the mountain blew. Longtime PNW resident & avid hiker. When we first moved here in 2019 the trails in the woods on the camping side were in much need of trail trimming so my husband & I have gotten to work and now they are easily hiked on by all w/o branches, stickers, ferns, big logs etc; we even cleared some logs along the way to sit on & take a lil break and absorb your amazing surroundings. The boardwalk side (same side as Visitors Center) has gorgeous views of Mount Saint Helens and an abundance of wildlife to observe and is wheelchair friendly. Please pack out what you pack in we like to keep it clean for everyone's enjoyment... especially your dog poo

Beautiful park for RVs and tents. No hookups where we were but there is an area for that. A little pricey especially if you're from out of state. The Mount Saint Helens welcome center is right across the street within walking distance. There is actually a tunnel under the road so you don't have to actually cross the road. No service from AT&T or Verizon at the campground.

    Upon entry.

This was a really nice place to camp. Yes you pay to camp but that keeps the parks clean, and it's worth it! Also the campground is clean, quiet and surrounded by beautiful trees. It's family and kid friendly and has a shower and bathroom for guests. The shower takes tokens you can buy on site. Simple and easy. Also- if you plan to have a fire there are plenty of places near by (and on site) that sell wood bundles for only a few bucks! No need to lug wood in your car. There are plenty of places near by for day activities and hikes! Plus you are right across the street from the Mt. St. Helen's visiting center! We have a great time at Seaquest State Park.

What a wonderful under the radar waterfall this is...Beaver Falls!…read more Located 6 miles east of Clatskanie, Oregon, this area near the Columbia River is beautiful. Let's get straight to the heart of what Beaver Falls is all about... If you plug "Beaver Falls Trailhead" into Google Maps, you'll have no problem finding it. Then just park along the side of Highway 30 and hike 1/3rd of a mile through the forest to the base of the falls. It's that easy. When I visited on a Thursday in early afternoon of July, there was hardly anyone around which was good for taking quality photos. Best of all, you can swim in the waters. So definitely bring a bathing suit, towel and a pair of water shoes so the rocks won't hurt your feet while entering the pool beneath Beaver Falls. The water is cold but once you jump in and get comfortable, it's a terrific setting. There's also a long rope where you can swing across and splash down below. It's great for kids (and adults too, lol) to have playful times. For me, I was content soaking in the pool and appreciating the surroundings. More info... - It's free to visit. - Cell phone reception works fine. - You can walk underneath the falls! This is a Must-Do. You can capture some amazing moments standing beside Beaver Falls. It's not hard or dangerous and offers a unique perspective. - Beaver Falls is just one of many outstanding waterfalls situated around Oregon and especially near the Columbia River. There's also Lower Lewis River Falls, Panther Creek Falls and Spirit Falls, to name a few. - You can spend a few hours hanging out or as little as 30 - 40 minutes. It depends on your time horizon. But overall, it's really pleasant to be here that I'd suggest bringing snacks, lunch and maybe having a picnic. This Beaver Falls is absolutely so much fun to hang out at. When you can swim in the waters, swing from a rope and even walk underneath the falls, It makes for a worthwhile summer visit.

On a sunny day, in any month, the view is just spectacular. You can see both Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens from the beach area. The beach is clothing optional and people are in all variations from nude, to topless, to clothed. So if walking around naked isn't your thing, don't let that stop you. You do you and everyone else will do themselves. It all works. As you drive down NW Raider, you will pass the Island Cove Market. if you haven't bought a permit to park, stop here to get one. It's $7 a day or $30 for an annual pass, well worth it. Don't neglect to buy the permit, they patrol frequently and will fine or tow!!! After the Island Cove Market you will pass a beach - you will know based on the cars all parked on the left and a hill to the right with several stairs and handrails taking you over the small hill to beach. Keep driving. When you hit the gravel road, you are in Clothing Optional Beach territory. Anywhere along this several mile stretch, park your car to the left and walk through the various marked paths to the right. When you walk through the clearing, you will be delighted by the sight of a decent sized white sandy beach, the river sprawled out in front of you with views across the water to the grass and trees. Plus Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood standing proud. It's stunning! And so peaceful. There are no bathroom facilities. This is Sauvie Island and it's not built up or commercialized. That's part of the charm and why it remains so pristine. There are porta potties located every 40 feet or so along the parking area. As well as garbage bins. Do take all your trash with you, don't leave it on the beach. This beach is great for long walks, sunbathing, picnics, floating or swimming in the water. In the summer, the water is actually pretty warm. And few waves other than when a large barge goes by and creates some waves. So if you like stunning scenery, peace and quiet plus water you can swim in, check it out! I plan on frequenting often this summer. I'll be the one in full bathing suit and a sun hat!

A very unique and beautiful area to visit!…read more The trailhead has a nice parking area, with bathrooms. The trail to the winding, aqua blue stream is wide and well maintained. You can view the main attraction from trails on both sides, as well as looking down from the bridge. We took the trails on both sides of the water. The trail across the bridge is much easier to traverse, and winds down to the (closed down) suspension bridge. The opposite side leads down beyond the suspension to the waters edge, but even to get down to that point isn't for the faint of heart. It includes a narrow, steep downhill trek...including a section over running water (with a wire handrail for support). Once you arrive at the water at the bottom you can view the suspension bridge above, and if you dare, the waterfall below. We did attempt to continue on a little ways down the trail from there, but as reviews describe, the next section is even steeper with a very loose and dangerous footing. I got vertigo trying to look over the edge at the falls right before that section, so continuing on was a huge no. I'm sure that many people without height woes have no issues moving on, but if you're like me, the trail ends there. This area is stunning. The waters and canyon are a site that pictures simply cannot do justice. Highly recommend!!

I don't mean to be rude or roast that person. Onto the review. I have grown up with this park. I went to a very very VERY tiny school, essentially across the street. We'd constantly be walking over to do school, anything really. I have very fond memories of how nice and big the park was, no real issues to think of. Fast-forward to the present, no nostalgia goggles, this is a very nice park. They just put in a disc golf course, which is very exciting. It's still very spacious, very clean and nice...outdoor environment? They keep the grass, trees, etc, very well kept. Sorry, best way I could explain that. When I went, the playground was busy and still looked as nice as ever. There's still plenty of picnic tables or seating in general. I didn't go into the bathrooms, but those have never been "a truly horrifying experience" for my money. You can do SO much here! There's plenty of room to ride bikes or other "wheeled" activities, there's a volleyball court, there's a soccer field, a basketball court. I may even be forgetting something. OH! You can even just get a good walk or run in. Overall guys, this is an excellent park even if I didn't grow up coming extremely regularly while making some of my favorite childhood memories. My husband and I were surprised by how much we liked this park. We were also surprised by how much this park has to offer. It has wide walking paths with beautiful waist-height light posts lining one of the paths for when it gets dark - very romantic! The river view is really nice. There are lots of trees, 2 covered areas with several picnic tables under each one, horseshoe-throwing sand pits, tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, several sandy river-front areas, and 2 beach-volleyball courts. Also within Louis Rasmussen Day Park is Ahle's Point Cabin, a small, gorgeous, wood-paneled restaurant/bar with 2 fireplaces (1 indoor & 1 outdoor), a patio overlooking the river which is a nice place from which to watch the sunset, and a variety of games to play if you're in a game-playing mood, from cribbage to chess. I'll review Ahle's Point Cabin (which is a part of McMenamin's) more extensively on its own separate listing, but for the purposes of this review, the cabin really adds a lot to this already impressive park. This park has 3 signs saying that: 1. Beachfront hours are from 5am - 9pm. 2. There is no camping or overnight staying at this park. 3. No alcohol is allowed in this park. The public bathrooms in this park are easily accessible - they're near the basketball courts and the tennis courts - and they're very clean, well-kept-up for outdoor bathrooms, and well-stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. To my surprise, I noticed a full walk-in shower at the back of the women's bathroom. However, the shower was out-of-order at the time of my visit. Do note that this park is a stone's throw away from a busy amtrak train track and close enough to I-5 to clearly read the exit signs on that freeway. However, don't let that deter you from visiting this lovely park. We saw couples, teenagers, families with small kids, 20-somethings, and elderly folks enjoying their time there yesterday. This is a delightful park for a stroll along the river, a chat seated on a park bench, watching a sunset from the Ahle's Cabin patio, a picnic, or a fun game of basketball, horseshoe-throwing, tennis, or beach volleyball.
