This was for my dryer repair. The technician was absolutely amazing. He fixed my issue and its been running fine since then. Thank goodness for him. I have spent so much money from February to now in doing my laundry. The first technician...who was originally assigned..back out of this job and I was not notified. In my lifetime, this experience is at least a top 3 WORST business interactions I've had: 1) The technician's diagnosis to REPAIR was incorrect. Repair parts were ordered and received. When the technician returned to install the repair parts, he recommended that we REPLACE the dishwasher. He indicated that a full refund would be granted. 2) On or about mid-March, the business office indicated that a refund would be granted in 7 - 10 days. Since, several contacts were made to inquire about the refund. Each time, I was given a projected date the refund would be issued. As of 4/25/2024, the refund was not made. 3) As such, I contacted the bank of my credit card provider to dispute the charge. The bank IMMEDIATELY credited the account! I view this as excellent responsiveness! I expected the same from SEARS, but was greatly DISSAPOINTED! Wishing for a better business model from SEARS! P.S. SEARS' established telephonic path to a customer service representative is TORTUOUS!!!! read more

I paid $100.00 to have my refrigerator repaired and I still can't get water from the door or make ice Cubes. I have to buy a wrench from Amazon to be able to get the water filter loose. Apparently this technician reported that my family damaged our broken microwave to Choice Home Warranty and now they will not replace our microwave. How can that be when all we do us put food in it to heat it up?? Not one time was it told to me that there was suspected abuse. When he replaced the transformer and powered up the microwave, the transformer gave off a very scary spark. He immediately says "CHW just needs to replace this microwave". I don't know what was really said because CHW could very well just be saying whatever to avoid paying the claim. All I know is they blaming it on us because they say the technician said we abused it. Flat out lie!!! I would give zero stars if I could? read more

I paid $100.00 for a service call to fix my refrigerator. I can not get any water out of the door and the ice maker is not working. Michael tried to get the water filter out, but was unable to get it out. He did not have the proper wrench for the water filter. I have to pay to get the wrench and hope it gets the water filter loose so it can be taken out. i an very unsatisfied that I had to pay $100.00 for a service call and my refrigerator is still not fixed. I am a senior citizen on Social Security and can not afford to pay out $100.00 and still my refrigerator is not letting me get water from the door or ic ecubes. read more

Fixed one problem, but couldn't fix the problem with the ice maker shooting ice out of the dispenser. The ice drops so hard that it has broken several of my glasses. Must hold glass up to top of dispenser or ice shoots everywhere. read more

My experience with Sears Home Services was terrible. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. First, let me say that the tech who came was professional and knowledgeable. My issue is with the scheduling/routing department. From my first call for service to being able to use my fridge was 90 days. That's right, 3 months. The first appointment was made on May 21 for June 5, two weeks later. I received three reminder emails during the days prior to my appointment, one of which told me "Your appointment is today. Be sure someone is home." After I rearranged my schedule to be sure I was home, about 10:00 am on June 5 I received a phone call telling me there was no tech available for my area and I would need to reschedule for an additional three weeks out, June 25. On June 25 the tech came, diagnosed the problem as a blown compressor, ordered parts, and scheduled a return appointment for an additional three weeks out, July 17. As stated above, he was a pleasure. On the morning of July 17, after receiving no reminder emails, I called to confirm the appointment. I was assured that the appointment was definitely happening, no worries. Ten minutes after hanging up, I received a phone call that no tech was available for my area and we had to reschedule for an additional 4 weeks out, August 13. Although I received reminder emails for the August 13 appointment, I did not believe it would actually happen until the tech called to say he was on his way. During this whole 90 days I lived without my fridge, having to grocery shop almost every day, and had to reschedule activities on two different days to be home for appointments that never happened. The compressor was under warranty or I would not have waited. After being told I would have to wait for two weeks for my first appointment, I called another appliance repair company who had a tech at my home the next day. They also diagnosed a blown compressor and could repair it within a week, but it would have cost $1,500. My fridge is now working. The tech was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. My experience with scheduling/routing was totally different. I checked the Better Business Bureau website (after the fact) and Sears Home Services' own Facebook page. Both show that this is not an isolated instance. Beware of using Sears Home Services. Beware also of purchasing any item from Sears that will need maintenance, even under warranty. read more

It is with sadness that I post this review, but I highly encourage people not to deal with Sears and their so-called Home Warranty policy agreements. I have paid premiums on the policy for many years in the hopes of coverage/replacement for my washer & dryer, should that be needed. In November 2019, my dryer broke, and I have been put through months of runarounds, diversions, disconnected phone calls, rude people, inefficient repair trips, and everything you can imagine. The bottom line is that the dryer is unfixable, and they will not do anything other than say let's send more repair people out to take a look. This has been going on for more than two months, and I am very tired of taking time off of work to meet repairmen who tell me it is irreparable and trips to the laundromat. And Sears' new idea will take at least another month or two, and likely will not fix the problem. They are not living up to their agreement to replace it when it's not repairable. So, I purchased from a competitor, and am much happier. Crummy, crummy service. read more

Our replacement compressor for our 5 yr old Kenmore refrigerator lasted less than 5 days and was pretty pricey. When I contacted Sears the quickest repair date is over 3 weeks out. No matter how high it was elevated, I received the same answer. Poor customer service. It's either a faulty part or workmanship. Will never contact them again for a repair. read more

I called Sears Home Repair because my 5 1/2 year old Kenmore freezer was registering 24*F. I called on Friday and the technician came Tuesday. Before the tech arrived I vacuumed the coils and emptied the box to see if that would help. The tech's assessment was that I needed new compressor, evaporator and heat exchanger. Repair totaling over $500. I wasn't comfortable with that assessment and sought a second opinion. The second opinion (a local small business) diagnosed the problem over the phone. A freon leak. $150., 30 minutes and some leak fixer and my freezer is back in business. read more
