Having the Waterfront Café during the day and the Tini Martini Bar after 3 PM right on-site was the perfect bonus. As a couple, we also really appreciated that the atmosphere was primarily adults-only, which made for a relaxing getaway. We visited in July when it was absolutely scorching outside, but we were pleasantly surprised by how cool and comfortable our room stayed the entire time. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Peter, Edward, and Joe were incredibly friendly, hardworking, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. They made us feel like more than just guests. A special thank you to Miracle, who greeted us with a warm "Welcome home!" every time we returned. Given the pros and cons I still would recommend this hotel if you are traveling with your fur friend(s) but just know it is not quiet and has a great location.

The beach is accessible via two walkways with secured gates. There are a number of amenities at the facility including a heated pool (which stays pretty cold), a tennis court, a shuffleboard, and a community room complete with supplies for shuffleboard and tennis. There is also a small workout center which we did not use. The pool is kept super clean. The deck furniture is weather-worn and rusty but functional. The building itself shows age but is keep clean. The parking lot is small and will accommodate only one car per unit. If you get a unit that sleeps eight you need to fit them in one vehicle. Yikes. The grounds are nice and well kept with natural dune vegetation between condos and beach. We saw a large land turtle often while crossing the walk. The stairwells and elevators are kept tidy and are well lit. During the week of Christmas there was seldom a manager on site to answer question but she would return a call within 24 hours. We rented two units. 303 was dated but clean and had the best view of the beach and ocean. 303 is also pet friendly. 206 is lovely updated and well maintained. The kitchen is well equipped and owners go the extra mile to make sure you have what you need. 206 does not allow pets. Seasonal rates apply to both units. We spent many hours walking on the pristine beach and finding an occasional shell. We also enjoyed sitting on the lanai watching the fishing boats. So lovely. The complex is only 5 miles from St Augustine beaches and attractions. There are some great restaurants nearby. I can't wait to back. One of our best beach renters ever.

I also sent text messages and emails but received no response. While trying to reach someone, I began reading recent reviews and was concerned to see multiple negative experiences reported by other guests. We had not reviewed them beforehand because we had previously stayed at this bed and breakfast and had a wonderful experience. We later learned that the property had recently been sold. When we arrived at the bed and breakfast, there was no one on site to check us in. We continued calling, texting, and emailing without any response. As a result, we were left without accommodations and had to secure alternative lodging at additional expense and inconvenience. Despite not being provided with the reserved accommodations and receiving no communication from the business, we were still charged for the booking. We are requesting a full refund and an explanation for this situation.

She told us how to get in the room and then left immediately. The inside seating area in the lobby is blocked off so no one can even use it. Our room was marketed as being on the ground floor with a sofa and wing chairs. We're on the second floor, there is no sofa, and there's something I might call a winged stool. We haven't seen any single employee since we arrived. Our bed wasn't made and towels weren't refreshed overnight. Maybe that's okay at a Motel 6 but at $300 a night or more you should absolutely do better. To get in and out of the inn and your room, you have to enter a code on a keypad which works about 20% of the time. We just let some other guests in because their code wouldn't work on the front door. Bottom line, whoever owns and operates this place has absolutely no sense of hospitality. It's not a bed and breakfast. It's not an inn. it would be generous to describe it as a self-service hostel. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Let's start with the positives: The location is still amazing--right next to one of our favorite spots, Pierre's Pub, which makes it super convenient for a fun night out. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the pillows were perfect, and the weekday front desk receptionist was hands-down the highlight of our stay. She's always so warm, friendly, and accommodating--truly a gem. That said, the overall vibe felt different this time around. The lobby has been redone and looks nice, but it seems to have lost some of that quaint B&B charm we remembered. The courtyard, which used to be such a welcoming place to relax with coffee or breakfast, felt a bit run-down and not as well maintained--like something was missing, even if we couldn't quite put our finger on it. We stayed in Room 4 again, and just a heads up: it's on the third floor and requires climbing into the tub to shower. If you have any mobility concerns, this could be a challenge and potentially a slip risk. The biggest change for us was the removal of breakfast. It's now just an inn rather than a true bed & breakfast. While they did send an email about this after booking, we didn't fully realize the impact until we arrived. For us, that morning coffee-and-breakfast experience is a big part of why we choose B&Bs--especially in a place like St. Augustine where there are so many great options. Parking is also a few blocks away, and while maps are provided, it can be a bit confusing to navigate at first. It was very easy for us to get our pass as the front is manned by security... I want to say 24/7. Our room was on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. Our room was very clean upon arrival. Two bed, two bath with a kitchen and large sitting area. Any time we came in contact with staff they were always very friendly. The pool area gets cleaned every morning and is a pretty decent size. Granted, we came on memorial weekend, but their was still enough space for my family to sit out by the pool. A quick walk down the little boardwalk they have gave you access to the beach, which if you've never been to St. Agustine, is a beautiful beach. I hope that we can continue the tradition of coming this this wonderful beach resort.
