This Fisher has been less than satisfactory I've had dozens of fish die for no reason at all and everything they've ever sold me has had a problem etc. the latest incident was last Wednesday when I went in to get some Rosy nosed Tetris and apparently had two different tanks but the other side was in display you couldn't even sell me five out of about 30 that were swimming when I drove all the way down there from Warner that was bullshit I'll never shop at this place again and beware the fish they sell are sick and bullshit in the freshwater side so not recommend whatsoever read more

I highly recommend this fish store. It's literally less than a mile away from the beach. Amazing selection of both saltwater and freshwater fish. Has beautiful corals and show quality fish. This is such a cool spot! I was blown away by the amazing selection of sea life here. We could've spent HOURS here just watching all of the fish and other animals. My kids even got to feed the sharks and sting rays. What a fabulous experience. The staff is so nice and helpful as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone! read more

They always have a huge amount of selections, the fish always look healthy and well fed :) I go here for ALL of my fish needs. it's worth the drive from mission viejo. if you have time, go explore the crustaceans and anemone area in the back of the store...it's my favorite to visit to see the wide range of water critters. Seaside is my personal favorite fish store when looking for fish to add to my salt water fishtank. This store is not just your average fish store it's such an experience all of there tanks are designed beautifully and is so cool to see. The fish and coral are so cheap here, they have great deals, and from what I've seen the fish are a lot healthier and don't have parasites coming into your tank with them like other fish stores. If your looking for rare fish or want plants for your tank they don't have a large options for that, but they have the basics which is really what most people want anyways. Another thing I will say is that the staff is always very kind, which is something you don't see much at fish stores usually other stores can be mean but seaside is always kind. The man owner was so rude. There were bunch of sick clownfish in the tank and I tried to pick out a good one but he said no. What does that mean? You want me to take a sick fish home?? This man is horrible and gave me attitude for picking out a healthy fish. He doesn't know what fish keeping is and clearly doesn't care about customer service and the health of the fish he is selling. Ive been loving going here since i moved to huntington beach and have been a consistent customer but the setup for the hermit crabs has been depressing me every time i walk in the door recently. I've been coming here for years now and was just sitting, looking at my tank, and was really appreciating this business. Without them, my tank wouldn't be what it is. To start, during my tank build I bought my lights, pump and chemicals from here. They gave me a great discount on the lights and pump which I wasn't expecting. I purchased many corals and fish from them and everything I received from them has been great, all eat aggressively shortly after acclimation and if the fish doesn't work out (nipping coral, too aggressive) theyve taken it back for partial credit towards something else. They have everything in stock that you'd want and lots of well stocked tanks too with plenty of low end to high end livestock. They have a wide variety of fishes, corals, anemones, shrimps, tank equipment etc. and everything is so well maintained. The tanks are clean and the fishes look happy, one of the best I've seen. My husband's hobby is his salt water tank so he is always looking for ways to improve it. We live in Laguna Niguel and we drive down to to HP for this store. They always have great customer service and go above and beyond. They are all very knowledgeable! I remember we were having trouble keeping our fresh water plants alive and we asked for some tips from Bricelda and it worked! We haven't had a problem with them staying alive anymore. The cute little bonus is the small pond you see as you walk in where you can feed some sharks and manta rays for $2.00! There are also some pretty looking starfish too. I highly recommend this place. We are so blessed having first met Sharon and her sister, Rebekah. We've been coming to this fish place for the past few years and they have always welcomed our children to look at their fishes whether we bought there or not. Ironically, we always thought they had the healthiest and prettiest fish varieties, so this was our kids favorite spot. Over the years, we have gone from buying beta fish, goldfish, crabs, frogs in the tank, and presently Neon Tetras. We have had a goldfish as our children's first pet that was just a baby and then grew too big for it's 5 gallon tank. We never had a fish live that long nor grow that fast! We spent a whole year deliberating what to do since our counter space and home was a simple loft, 900 sq. feet with barely any space already for 6 people, and we could not get a bigger tank to accommodate our growing fish. Thus, my son became so sad thinking we had no place for his pet fish he had loved for so long. My husband had spent so much time caring for our pet fish, "Hamburger" (funny name I know) and we all loved and greeted him everyday. My son's wish was that his pet fish would have the freedom to roam around a pond bigger than the tank he was living in and have a better life. We had looked online to se if we could take him to a park man made pond but learned it's illegal. Hence, we didn't know what to do because we wanted better for our pet fish but didn't know what to do? Thus, I walked in to share my story to Rebekah, on one Friday night, she tells me to my surprise, "bring him in, we'll take him"! Finally, yesterday we took pictures, became sentimental and the kids brought their pet fish into Seaside Tropical and we're so relieved their pet fish would hopefully have a better home condition than what he had to succumb to with us. We are so grateful to Seaside and their heart to care for their sea creatures and for our family, their long loved "Pet Fish". I returned the next day, 3/8/23 Wednesday and Sharon told me a customer took our fish home to a 55 gallon tank despite his having 1 eye that was cloudy and another eye that I hadn't known was missing; it was my husband who took care of our grown, pet, goldfish. We also donated our 5 gallon fish tank there. We're happy our goldfish is in a better home and hope the new owner can send us pictures of his new place and that he is in a good place. Their freshwater stocking is fairly unimpressive. There's a few specialized freshwater stores that have 3x the same stocking. They have a wide selection of saltwater species tho and corals. It wasn't for me because I prefer freshwater. The staff seemed to have no idea what they're doing, most likely just people who took the job and don't fish keep. BEWARE ! The RO Water, Reverse Osmosis water has a PPM of over 100! This means that they are selling water that is as polluted as tap water. RO Water is standardized to be below 10 PPM. That means they are selling polluted water atleast 10x times of what they are selling. This is significant as your fish, quite literally everything in your water tank is being exposed to fluoride, metals (nickel, lead, mercury), pesticides like round up. All of the materials that DO NOT need to be exposed to fish. Don't believe me? Purchase a TDS meter from Amazon, they are cheap about $10 and test it yourself. It also doesn't help that they upcharge for both the water jug and the water itself. I went down to Pure Water + and got water and tested it at about 2 PPM and it was cheaper. This practice is honestly disgusting, selling water that isn't what it actually is advertised. Furthermore their is a review from 3 years ago, you can search it on yelp with "PPM" and that person recorded 300 PPM. PPM - Parts per Million Tap Water PPM Range (100-500) *places like Flint Michigan can be higher* RO Water Range (below 10) I recorded 115 on their PPM for their RO Water. read more
