While visiting here my Yorkie had a flare up of her Pancreas... Day after Thanksgiving and the vets in Brunswick that were open wouldn't see us nor would they give me advise. I was looking for an emergency clinic when "Seaside Veterinary Hospital " popped up on my phone. I called and explained my Yorkie was getting dehydrated. They immediately told me to bring her in. From the front desk staff to the technician Melanie to Dr Johnson I send my heartfelt THANK YOU!! For helping my fur baby!!You were all a Godsend in our time of need!!! I would recommend your place to anyone!!! Excellent Place!!! Exceptionally Clean and Welcoming Trixie thanks you!!

I just love that I can bring my girls to a wonderful veterinary clinic on the Island. They also have acupuncture which is a great relief for my Sassafras.

Love them!! We spend half the year on SSi and Seaside Vet happily welcomed us. Actually love them more than the vet at our permanent home!

My pets are not current patients of Golden Isles Animal Hospital, and after a deeply disappointing…read moreboarding experience, they never will be. After two years of saving, we finally planned a short vacation out of state. Since our vet does not offer boarding, I contacted Golden Isles Animal Hospital to arrange a 4 night stay for my diabetic cat. She had been stable for almost a year with oral medication and a closely monitored diet, especially her water intake, which is significant due to her condition. I made sure to explain this clearly: she needs her water bowl refilled frequently and medication administered once daily. That's it. She's super easy, just keep an eye on the water bowl. I even left these instructions in her medicine bag stating exactly this. Because of her condition, I was told she'd need to come in for a "trial day," before the boarding, to ensure everything would go smoothly. She did very well, and the assistants praised her for how sweet, bubbly and easy she is. After that trial, she came home, sat by her water bowl, and drank water nonstop for 15 minutes. In hindsight, this is more concerning than it felt at the time. I trusted that this animal hospital would, at the very least, keep a diabetic cat hydrated and comfortable. So surely this must be stress related.. right? I brought up her water intake again at the time of her boarding, and they assured me that someone would "always be with her." I now understand that "someone in the building" may not mean someone qualified, or attentive enough, to actually monitor her needs. On the morning we were scheduled to pick her up, we received a call at 7am asking us to come immediately. She had been found lying on her side in her litter box, lethargic, dehydrated, could not walk without falling, and vocalizing in distress. As soon as we arrived, I asked if the vet or a tech could assist. I was told by your staff that no tech or vet had been on duty over the weekend, and wouldn't be that day either. The person who handed her over said she'd been fine for the first couple of days, but by day 3 had become slightly lethargic, so they gave her corn syrup. We asked if her blood sugar was checked before that, to ensure it was low blood sugar causing the lethargy, but the answer was no. It was given to her blindly. If this lethargy was that concerning, to the point of giving her corn syrup without checking her blood sugar, then why wasn't I called and informed of it at the very least? I would have come home immediately to get her and take her to her vet. There were no clear records of what had happened over the weekend from your staff. Evidently, they had been rotated, and the person speaking to us admitted they weren't there for two of the four days, so they weren't entirely sure what happened. We were handed a brochure for an emergency clinic and told to take her there, as they had no one to help her. We then took her over to her vet, who did some quick tests and found her very dehydrated with high blood sugar, cold and stressed, and urged us to take her to the emergency clinic immediately, so we did. She was admitted and cared for, but her condition continued to worsen. She passed away the very next day. I am absolutely devastated. It is heartbreaking to think that a stay intended to be safe and routine ended this way. I will always question what happened during those days when we weren't with her, and if any of it could have been prevented, had they called me at the first red flag.. If only I could give 0 stars. Thanks for literally nothing.

My dog has a spinal condition and had to have major back surgery after he became paralyzed. THESE PEOPLE ARE INCOMPETENT AND INHUMANE. Incompetent.. The first time I took my dog to them for throwing up after eating. They gave me drugs for him. After talking to a trainer, she said all I had to do was elevate his bowl. I did this and he stopped throwing up.. I guess they wouldn't have gotten as much money out of me if they hadn't sold me the drugs.. Inhumane.. after the dog bite incident I took him to be euthanized.. the vet gave him a shot and we watched him writhe on the floor in pain for twenty minutes while the vet and his assistant left the room.. finally they came back and put him down.. I've had two other dogs euthanized at other vets on the island.. NONE OF THEM LEFT THE DOG IN AGONY FOR TWENTY MINUTES!.. On top of that they got involved in the dog bite lawsuit.. instead of just saying they treated my dog.. they had to go into a lengthy comment about how they thought the dog was aggressive.. and it cost me the lawsuit.. they had no business getting involved with that.. after reading some of these other reviews, I think this place shouldn't be in business..

That should have been a red flag. Before dropping him off, our vet prescribed medication for a skin infection and we provided clear instructions for them to administer it. Unfortunately, they failed to do so. When we took our dog back to the vet after his stay, she confirmed that he had not received the medication, which meant he suffered unnecessarily while in their care. They also told us we'd be able to see pictures of him playing on their Facebook page during his stay. However, we only saw one photo of him, while other dogs were posted frequently. When we picked him up, we were shocked to find the bill was $185 more than we were told to expect. One of the extra charges was for a bath, which we had explicitly declined at check-in. Overall, we cannot recommend Puppy Paradise based on our experience. For the health and comfort of your pet--and your own peace of mind--we suggest looking elsewhere.
