I have been a client of Dr. Hamid for 15+ years. Absolutely love them and depend on them !! Friendly, compassionate and understanding of my concerns for my giants ! They are always accommodating ! I've been a client here for a few years, but unfortunately as of yesterday that's all changed. I'll never bring an animal back here nor will I recommend them to anyone. My dog had accident and severely injured his leg yesterday and after a brief phone call to the front desk it looked like I was out of luck. No appointments available and zero concern for his well being. Nothing. You know we choose a regular veterinarian not just for routine shots and care, but in the hopes that they'll be there for you at your pet's worst. Southeast GA vet clinic really let me down yesterday. Not only was I told I couldn't bring my dog in, I wasn't even given a recommendation of the next best place to go to get emergency care which left me scrambling. Luckily Seaside Animal Hospital welcomed me right away with open arms.... Even with a full waiting room of regular clients and only one veterinarian on call. Such a shame I couldn't count on my own vet to be there for me when I needed them the most. read more

Caution. If you ever plan on using this vet in the future you should not leave a negative review. If you do Dr Hammond will blacklist you and will not provide services for your pets. This happened to me when I left a review simply letting people know if you have an emergency they would not see you unless you have an appointment. As an animal rescuer of 30 years and one who has rescued, vetted and found homes for over 9,000 homeless animals in the Southeast Georgia region I was appalled to find out that Dr Hammond could evening think about letting her anger anger come before helping animals. As a businessman for many years I always welcomed reviews of any kind. I didn't get any vet notes just a bill." I copied the comment from another customer who posted in March 2022 because it matches my recent experience in November 2022. We switched to this veterinary practice earlier in 2022 because it provides boarding and on the recommendation of someone I trust. We were impressed with Dr. Hamid's hands-on approach during the first visit. It's the type of care we are used to from our previous vets. The second experience was not good. We boarded our dog on November 25th and picked it up on November 30th. While it was boarded, Paco had lab work done to test its kidney function. I got a text letting me know Paco's kidney function had improved but was not yet where it needs to be. When I picked up Paco, I asked for a copy of the lab work. The response was that I don't need to see it, that the text was enough. I responded today to a request for a review from the practice. I decided to also post my review in Yelp. It is disquieting that the place seems unsanitary. I could have done better diligence by asking to see the boarding area before leaving Paco in their care. It is also unsatisfactory to receive a dismissive response when I requested to see the lab results. Dr. Hamid has an excellent reputation. Unfortunately my recent experience leads me to return to the previous practice even if they don't provide boarding rather than keep my pet's care with Southeast Georgia Vet. read more

This is the second place I called looking for boarding and / or doggy day care pricing for Kalu and Gizmo. Here's what I found out: Hours: 7:30am - 6:00pm Prices $17 per day for doggy day care $44 Boarding / Suite (includes en-suite camera) $31 Boarding / Run $25 - $29 Boarding / Cage or Kennel Event though they don't have after-hours attendants - I like the fact that this is a veterinary practice. I would definitely feel comfortable leaving either of my furbabies here. I'd probably go with a suite until I got comfortable and then transition to a run - for overnight stays. read more

This was my second visit to the clinic, the first visit was last year. My first visit was amazing with Dr. Hamid. This visit did not go as well . I was not told until I was in the room and until the technician had already jabbed my elderly cat with a distemper shot that Dr. Hamid was not there and that I would be seeing a relief vet. I didn't know what a relief vet was. The relief vet was very nice,but not Dr. Hamid which was the only reason I went there in the first place. I did not like a tech giving my cat the shot and my cat is now ill and has never been ill from a shot. Now I am freaking out. The place also smelled horrible. It reeked of pet urine. I told her I had cancer and couldn't drive and asked to speak to Dr. Hamid on the phone. I was crying. Bonnie called back hours later and said Dr. Hamid said to come pick up a anti inflammatory medicine and in the future to make sure to tell the receptionist I want to see Dr. Hamid when I make an appointment. I said why,if she is the only vet listed. And why won't she talk to me and what do you not understand about me not being able to drive . She then said please come back next year, we care. If they cared, Dr Hamid could have spent 2 minutes on the phone instead of having her receptionist call. Even Island Animal Hospital who I think is really bad has the vet call. Please don't go here. We have been a regular customer but not anymore. Terrible customer service. I was told by the receptionist that Vet Hamid doesn't return phone calls. I was also told by the receptionist that if I got there before 5, which I did, I wouldn't get the after hours charge of $98.00. Well I was charged and the vet left before 5 for her kids game. The receptionist said that vet Hamid wouldn't reverse the charge even though she was gone. Im now looking for another vet service closer to home. They lost my business over $98.00. We have used this vet for more than 14 years, and they have always been professional. Dr. Hamid shows an obvious concern and affection for her patients and their sometimes unreasonably anxious owners, so we never feel like we shouldn't "bother" her with "silly" questions. I have been taking my dogs and cats to the brick and mortar location as well as using the mobile van for years. The courtesy and professionalism is hit or miss; however, the prices at the mobile unit are easier on the budget with 11 animals. This past weekend I visited the mobile unit in Brunswick for the very last time and will be searching for another vet. The arrogance and argumentative attitude of the young girl that assisted me was beyond acceptable. My advice, spend a little extra money and find a vet staff that values your business and strives to be courteous and caring. read more

This is the greatest vet clinic I have ever seen. Both vets are outstanding, and honestly know what they are doing. The whole place, goes way out of their way to make you feel comfortable and important. No matter if I was there yesterday or a year ago, they know who I am and treat me as if I was there only person they service. I been here about 6 times, and I see it in the the person before me and/or after me everyone walks out happy knowing they pick the right place for their pets. I have been taking my dogs here for 4 years now. All the previous visits I have had here have been great. Until it comes to surgery. My 13 year old Shetland sheep dog went into surgery last night for Pyometra. A very critical condition for an older dog. I left her there around 5 o'clock, and they close at 6. The surgery took about 20-30 minutes then they call me to come pick her up to take her to the Pet ER in Brunswick. I pick her up and one of the staff members is holding her vertically after she just had her uterus taken out... then he puts her in my car and I notice that she isn't even shaved where the surgery was processed. They didn't do anything to clean her at all. She is soaked in blood... nothing covering the incision. Then he proceeds to say "sorry I have to take this towel back because they will yell at me." I shouldn't even give this place 1 star. This dog is family... I was six when we got her. Now I'm 22.. we grew up together. Do not ever take your pets here. Or at the pet ER in Brunswick. Very dissatisfied. We're were booked to board our dog while we were out of town for the week. We were never informed of their restricted hours for drop off on Saturday when we booked. As such, we arrived with no one home. And they did not answer their phone when we called in a panic. Left us in a very bad spot as we had a cruise to be on in 4 hours. We ended up imposing on a friend to hold our dog for the day and taking her in later that evening. When we picked her up, she had multiple bruises and cuts on her legs as well as flea bites all over her belly. I have no clue what they did or did not do to her. But it seems clear she was completely ignored. What's worse, they did not even point these things out when she was picked up. We found them when we got home. Definitely won't use them again. read more

I am extremely comfortable trusting my pets to the care of Dr. Hamid and Dr. Blair at Southeast Georgia Vet Clinic. Not only are the doctors intelligent and dynamite veterinarians, they are truly kind and compassionate. Recently, Dr. Hamid and her assistant, Taylor, made a house call to my house to assess my beloved 18 year old mixed retriever, Reno. I knew in my mind that Reno was in a bad way and that it was probably time to help him on his final journey. I just didn't want to know it in my heart. I was not ready to let him go. Reno was my constant companion. I loved him fiercely. He hadn't been eating very much for several weeks and he didn't have enough strength to get up by himself. Reno had arthritis and had major back surgery in 2014, but he was like the ever ready battery bunny - he just kept going. It didn't appear to me nor my husband that he was in pain - he was walking once we helped him get up, his bowel and kidneys were working, he was drinking, but not eating much. I was providing hospice nursing to him (care and comfort). I was hoping he would die peacefully in his sleep. The day I called Dr. Hamid to schedule a house call to assess Reno was because Reno eyes had given me an expression that seemed to tell me he was tired and was trying as hard as he could to live, but he was just not able to feel good anymore. Dr. Hamid and Taylor arrived the next day to assess Reno. Dr. Hamid was so kind, gentle and caring - she examined Reno carefully and slowly. She told me what I expected and was trying to be ready to hear. Reno's gums were no longer pink, he had no more muscle mass and she told me he was masking his pain. Dr. Hamid gently explained it would be merciful to help Reno begin his final journey and explained how she would accomplish that. I agreed and thanked her. Dr. Hamid and Taylor stepped out of the den to give me time to say my farewell to my faithful and loving companion. She told me to take as much time as I needed before she gave Reno the anesthetic sedative to be followed by the final injection. After she administered the sedative she again left me alone with my Reno Beano Boy with instructions to love him as much as I wanted. My husband wanted to say his farewell to Reno, but he was in important meetings at work and couldn't get to the telephone. When the sedative began working, Reno relaxed and appeared so peaceful. I suddenly realized that I hadn't seen him look so relaxed in a long time. I called for Dr. Hamid to come back in. She was about to give Reno the injection when my phone rang. It was my husband calling to say his farewell. I put the phone on speaker so he could give his love to Reno. Reno's eyes blinked so we know he heard my husband. Dr. Hamid said that was surely a Divine Intervention. I agreed, it was. She then administered the injection with me holding my Reno. His heart beat only three more times. Dr. Hamid said this was truly a sign that my Reno was tired and ready to go because usually the heart continued to beat another 2 or 3 minutes. She then gave me more time with Reno alone. Of course my tears flowed and flowed. Dr. Hamid hugged me quite a few times during the whole process and gave me verbal comfort as well. When I was ready Dr. Hamid, Taylor and I wrapped Reno in his own blanket and a beautiful white bedspread Dr. Hamid brought. Reno was carried to Dr. Hamid's car to go back to the clinic so he could be picked up for cremation. I will get his ashes back along with some of his hair and a paw print. I am blessed and thankful for Dr. Hamid and her staff. There could just not be a more kind, caring, compassionate and intelligent veterinarian and staff to trust the care of my pets to. This isn't the end of this comment though. One of my cats, Gypsy Diva Queen had been urinating outside of her litter box and I feared she might have a urinary tract infection. Dr. Hamid took her back to the clinic with Reno to evaluate her. I called at 4pm as requested and yes, she did have a urinary tract infection and some irritation to her lady parts as well. My husband picked our Diva Queen Kitty up and got instructions for the medication Dr. Hamid sent home. It has been one week today and Miss Gypsy Diva Queen has completed her antibiotic and feels so much better. She has not urinated outside her litter box again! What a wonderful veterinarian Dr. Hamid is and her staff is just as wonderful. I appreciate her, Dr. Blair and their staff more than they will ever know. Dr. Hamid's genuine compassion and kindness will not be forgotten. read more
