Wonderful experience dropping in at CrossFit Seaward. The coaches and athletes were very welcoming and made me feel at home right away. Programming is well thought-out and includes the essential warm-up movements and cool down stretches. The facility is bright, clean, and nicely decorated. I've been going to Seaward CrossFit for six months, and it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I've always been overweight, but my weight had stayed in the same 10-pound range or so for about six years. When I stepped on the scale one day in May, I saw a number I'd never seen. I went to Seaward CrossFit's free Saturday community class the next day. I didn't finish the whole workout, but I felt very motivated by everyone there, and no one pushed me to hurt myself. I've lost 35 pounds. I've completed every WOD since then. I'm the strongest I've ever been. The coaches and other members at Seaward care. As an unfit, overweight person, I was afraid I wouldn't fit in there. But I've only been welcomed with open arms. Chuck and Vanessa are incredible coaches. They know what they're talking about, are mindful of any injuries and are always quick to correct mistakes and commend improvements. The other members - my CrossFit family - are always encouraging. We are all athletes on different levels, but we all share a love for CrossFit. CrossFit is for everyone. You're not too old. You're not too weak. You're not too out of shape. Give it a try. I have been a proud member of Seaward CrossFit for over a year and a half, so this review is long overdue. Bottom-line: Seaward is a superb gym, run by extremely passionate coaches, and supported by a great community of members. The coaching is excellent - The coaches are all impressive athletes with diverse backgrounds who deeply care about all the member's progress. It is very hard to do anything in the gym without an expert set of eyes providing useful feedback. Equally as important, the coaches are all standout human beings that are fun to be around. The programming is fantastic with several options offered to the members. The equipment is all top notch. Classes are large enough to form a solid community to encourage one another but not overflowing. Aside from the phenomenal coaching, experience and motivation, the entire staff all create and promote an incredible culture - From my first class I was treated like family and not a customer. I look forward to returning to Seaward every day. I have met a lot of great people here and workouts are always more enjoyable with good friends. Seaward has successfully built and sustained a thriving community that has been a huge value-add to my life. read more

I have been going to Seaward Crossfit over the past three years. Chuck, Vanessa and Jacob are the best! I have been to three boxes and I have never experienced such attention to detail. They focus on making sure that you have the correct form before you progress to the next level. They are extremely attentive during your work outs ensuring that you maximize your effort while avoid getting hurt. I recommend Seaward highly - you will love it! read more

I recently started attending classes at Seaword Crossfit back in April. I have to say after trying out other crossfit gyms in the area, as well as fitness classes at local gyms, that this is the best fitness club around Sarasota. The level of detail that both Chuck and Vanessa provide during the classes (there are two other coaches that I've not been in class with, but have heard great things) is awesome. They make sure to go through every part of every movement with you as individual as well as the whole class. They make sure to provide one on one tutorship with each person when identifying any faults you may have, and help guide you into correct form. The best part about the gym is that they emphasize form over speed and weight, which is the basis of what crossfit is. Other gyms I've been to, is all about reps and being as fast as possible, where at Seaword they want you to develop your form first and build a solid foundation, before progressing onto heavier weights and increased reps. There is also a level of camaraderie I've not yet seen amongst a gym crowd that is at Seaword. All the other members I've been privileged enough to be in class with are extremely nice and everybody is super supportive of each other. This is an amazing group of people that Chuck and Vanessa has assembled here, and I recommend that everybody who is able bodied come give it a try and test yourself. read more

Had a great workout with Chuck and Vanessa, it's a very intimate and friendly CrossFit with all of the equipment you could think of. Very clean and the staff was very knowledgeable. I've had a tight shoulder for a while now and Chuck flossed it for me which I hadn't heard of but it was awesome. Would definitely recommend this place read more

My wife and I recently joined after being unimpressed with a few other gyms and boxes. I had a good feeling about this place after calling and speaking with Vanessa as she was very pleasant, accommodating, and patient. We spoke for quite a while on the phone as she took all the time needed to answers all of my questions. We stopped in a few days later, met with her and her husband Chuck, and we knew this was the place for us. We are very happy to have found Chuck, Vanessa, Melissa, and the rest of the team as they are all very knowledgable and caring. Not only is the entire staff there great, but so are the other crossfitters. This is a great place to get in shape, push yourself, make some friends, and get excellent coaching.
