You'll find plenty of space to sit, there are single chairs available, as well as, desks with electrical outlets - your choice of street or garden view. There's a children and teen section too, as well as, charging stations through out the library. Bathrooms are kept very clean. You have access to free wi-fi, printing services, bookstore, computer access, etc... COVID Precautions: following county mandates - staff wears mask and guests are also now required to wear mask too. Desks and areas to sit are spaced out for social distancing. Hand sanitizer available for guests throughout library.

However, we do have some concerns that make our visits a bit challenging. Parking is consistently a hassle, and we've noticed an increasing presence of homeless individuals both around and directly in front of the library, which can be uncomfortable. This became particularly troubling recently when a homeless individual on a bike nearly hit my 6-year-old daughter and then attempted to kick her. While we understand the library can't control what happens outside its doors, and we often see security personnel, it's disheartening that these issues persist. My children have even started referring to it as 'the homeless library,' which is sad given how much we value what it offers. We genuinely hope to see some improvements in the future, as we truly enjoy coming here.

The library is quite large with a wide selection materials and several different study areas. The main drawbacks were the parking and overall cleanliness. There is no dedicated parking lot so most people will need to find paid street parking or use a paid parking garage. I also noticed that some areas felt unclean, with strong odors in certain parts of the library and an unkept bathroom. There were also many homeless individuals sheltering inside or gathered outside, which may make some visitors uncomfortable.

This was my first time going into this library. I have driven past it and walked past it almost…read moreevery day I never really thought to go in. I went in and started looking at the books and all that they have to offer. It's quite expensive. They also have video games and movies and CDs for checking out for up to three weeks and even then you can renew the book or city or video game and the best part is there are no late fees this would have been great when I was a kid. I always loved reading and re-reading my books and ended up having to pay late fees which my parents were not too happy about, but anyway, that has changed now, which is great at the entrance. There are books up for sale as well as puzzles and movies and all for no more than three dollars from what I saw. I did end up buying some puzzles because I love puzzles. Can't get enough of them the receptionist at the front desk was so nice and helped me get my library card. I continue to browse and ended up checking out three books and three video games for my Nintendo switch. I can't wait to go back and look further into what they have to offer. Go check them out.

I love libraries. Always have, always will…read more But university libraries? Typically a different story. They never feel too warm or welcoming. Often times, they look and feel and smell old, and stale. In short, I am loathe to spend much time in them. Not so with the SSU Library. For starters, it's a newer facade than most university libraries, with modern and practical furnishings inside. It's not so big that I get lost in it. And it accommodates all kinds of people - ranging from individuals or small groups of people, to larger groups and even classes looking for a place to meet. The first floor is good for group projects, collaborative homework assignments, or just hanging out with friends. The second floor is where I go when I want to work on less demanding assignments, or chat with a partner about something. And the third floor is perfect for writing seminar papers, because the quiet policy is adhered to and makes it a good environment for concentration. And with flexible hours (open every day, and until midnight on week nights) it's always open when I need it to be.

Came here to do some research and paperwork. After about an hour, I went outside to take a phone…read morecall. When I came back my papers were pushed aside and a woman was sitting at my workstation. There were at least 5 other stations available. The staff ended my session abruptly so I lost all my reports that I saved. I asked why they did this. The staff had a blank stare acting like it wasn't intentional. The lady at my station wanted to fight me. The manager (Stuart) was escalating the situation by yelling loud disrupting the entire library. Screaming 'Get Out' about 10 Times as I was picking my paperwork off the floor. This was the most barbaric treatment intentionally created to inflict disruption and punish me for taking a phone call. This was such a pathetic display of desperate staff who were just looking to cause a problem. Horrible! We pay their salaries and this is what they do. Miserable mean people suck.
