It's really nice inside if you look up at the ceiling you can see the great infrastructure. They have lots of areas for sitting around too.

From the outside the building is kind boring. To sit outside on a nice sunshiny day after being at the library it needs a lot of benches and some tables. However, there is a lot of parking. If you want shady parking, park over at the old bank. read more

My favorite county library! Location has plenty of free parking, beautiful grounds (I encourage you to walk around), and building itself is well maintained. The inside of the library is beautiful with high ceilings and lots of natural light. You'll find plenty of space to sit, there are single chairs available, as well as, desks with electrical outlets - your choice of street or garden view. There's a children and teen section too, as well as, charging stations through out the library. Bathrooms are kept very clean. You have access to free wi-fi, printing services, bookstore, computer access, etc... COVID Precautions: following county mandates - staff wears mask and guests are also now required to wear mask too. Desks and areas to sit are spaced out for social distancing. Hand sanitizer available for guests throughout library. read more

I didn't catch this gentleman's name but the gentleman working at the information desk has helped me out a few times with printing and scanning documents. I have received really good customer service at this library several times and I definitely do believe that it does deserve a shout out! Our library is beautiful. The lighting is fantastic. The books are well organized and the librarians/reference staff are terrific too. I discovered a fireplace in the rear behind the reference desk to the left. The only wish I have, is there were more cozy seating back there. But, we have been living with a pandemic so, I understand. I read and read and read. As a friend once labeled me, I am a voracious reader. The library is part of the Sonoma library System. This means, if they don't have a book you are looking for, they can most likely find it and get it to you soon. I love too, being able to hold books and join waitlists online. They notify you when they are ready. You can also download e-books via a number of software programs including, Kindle. Recently, we learned about the Discovery Pass(?) which allows you to have savings on a number of Bay Area museums and special attractions. You can sign up online or, at the library. The spots available are limited, due to Covid restrictions. The high ceilings and light colored walls make for a comfortable, welcoming adventure. Lastly, they have a great little bookstore full of treasures from other patrons shelves. They are reasonably priced. And, this raises money for the library. read more

This place is absolutely wonderful! Always respectful and clean excellent selection and easy-going and knowledgable librarians. There are plenty of computers for working, browsing, or looking through the catalog. The process for obtaining a library card - and therefore being able to access the full catalog of the Sonoma system is simple and made easy and fun by the aforementioned library staff. THERE IS EVEN A FIREPLACE!!! The parking lot is large and fully accessible for those using wheels. The bathrooms are always impeccably clean, welcoming and well stocked, even providing complimentary period products. *heart* I love this place!!! read more

I love this library. It's bright with huge windows. The librarians are helpful. So many books! Great kids area and programs.

I guess I have to like this place because the street is named after my mom.... That said, the last 3 or 4 times I've been here, they haven't had the books I wanted, creepy guys have been staring me down, and transients are sleeping in the alcoves. I wouldn't be comfortable if I had kids to let them roam alone here. The lighting is nice, the architecture is wonderful, and the counter tops are my favorite, but I guess it's not unique to me since I saw all the prototypes when my mom was spearheading the project. They do have a GREAT friends of the library bookstore, I've found countless great oldie but a goodie type items here. Also, the librarians and staff are way great, and will go out of their way to help you find what you're looking for. read more

This library was built with the community in mind. It has excellent resources, plenty of room, excellent audio resources, and a selection of community rooms to use at very little cost. There's plenty of bicycle parking and car parking in the fountain outside adds a nice touch. read more

This is by far the best library I have ever been in. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars is that it does not carry the pure volume of some larger facilities. But otherwise it blows most libraries out of the water. Overall it is a relatively new facility. Everything is very functionally placed and well spaced out with lots of windows for natural light. Seating is fairly plentiful. The staff is always very nice and they have mostly self serve checkout stations which is fast and easy. The kids section is great with plenty of room, kid bathrooms, and lots of kid sized stations for computers, tables, and the like. My favorite aspect is the wi-fi access which is very fast. When I come into town to work, I skip the Starbucks or other coffee shop options and come here to work. They have comfy tables with great overhead lights, table plug outlets, and easy wi-fi access which lets me get my work done and get on with my day. read more

This is the best branch in the whole library system. New & attractive with light wood cabinets & a curved granite counter for check-out. Nicely layed out for adults and youth. I love how you can manage everything you want to read/listen to online - no fuss, no muss. Can't wait for the downloadable audio books to be compatible with iPods - it's coming they tell me. They're always friendly and helpful and fast. A plus for me is that I can walk here from work. This branch doesn't attract a scary element like the one it replaced did. I give it 5 stars because of all they available resources, for free (if you return stuff on time). You can check out books, Movies (VHS & DVD), and music(newest and classics). If you can't find it, check the whole library system on the web (Sonoma County, Mendocino). Then request the item and they will bring it to this branch at no charge. They will even notify you. Of course some items have long holds, but if you can't buy it, it is worth the wait. Also, they have a nice set up of tables, comfy chairs and good lighting. Internet (if you've got card, easy to get one) and wi-fi for free. Great on hot summer day if you want to escape the heat. read more

One librarian was on the phone with her step-daughter and the other (who helped me), encouraged me and others to use the self-check-out. read more

Opened in 2003 as part of the Sonoma County Library system, this medium sized (24,000 square feet) branch is well-lighted and maintained, with clean restrooms and common areas. Configured as a single long "great room", there is a separate children's area, but "quiet reading" and "teen" areas are essentially open nooks. The library staff makes a commendable effort to keep noise levels reasonable and patrons are generally considerate (of course, there are exceptions). Library staff members are helpful and generally friendly. As I write this, library hours are essentially 10:00 am to 6:00 pm - extended to 9:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Closed on Sundays. Ample free parking. There are numerous 4 person study stations with power outlets (ideal for laptop use) and roughly two dozen personal computer work stations. Solid (for a public library) WiFi speeds: downloads at 9mb/s and uploads at 5mb/s. I'm job searching and, while I have high speed internet at home, I regularly work at a library to create a disciplined routine. My only nit-pick: solid wood chairs, which are not comfortable for extended work or study. Overall, this has become my favorite library in Sonoma County. read more

This library has a great collection of books for all ages and reference materials, a friendly staff, and a clean, comfortable environment for reading. It also has a well-stocked bookstore. I do a lot of research for various writing projects, and I consider this library, and the whole lending system it is a part of, as a valuable resource. read more

Great location with abundance of parking. Seems to be a pretty new bldg. Just dropped by bc it happened to be a Friends of the Library sale while in town. 4* for the library. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY (separate entity) A bit petty with the sale of books....pricing further based on size (for paperbacks over 5x6) would be doubled ....dont libraries normally charge by hardback vs softback vs childrens' books. First of all it's in a very small town so I wasn't exactly expecting a vast collection but I was pleasantly suprised. The cool thing about it is they will get you any book in the Sonoma Library System. All you have to do is ask - and you can do it all on the web - and they even call you when it's ready to pick up - and they leave it on a shelf with your name on it so you don't have to wait for some overworked library volunteer to get it for you. It's all just too convenient. The one drawback - if you are trying to get a current best seller you might be the 20,000,000,000th person on the wait list and be dead before you get to read it. read more

We love libraries but the librarians are kinda rude. We returned our books and spent almost an hour picking out new ones. We were not allowed to check out our books be because the old ones hadn"t been logged into their system yet. Try explaining that to a five year old. Then the librarian had the nerve to ask me to make my toddler be quiet. read more

I've been to probably like 20 libraries up and down the coast. I've always been into libraries but, going back to college and taking online classes made me even more into them. This one is my favorite one, although sometimes people there do talk really loud on their cellphones. It is a very nice library, lots of computers, nice sitting areas and a lot of places to charge phones and laptops. read more
