This gym has been under new management and things have dramatically improved. The gym is clean and well taken care of, equipment that has tearing has been getting repaired. They are actively working on adding new equipment, just got an Arsenal pendulum squat machine. Front desk has been on top of everything as well, friendly and staffed until 8pm every day with 24 hour access for members. Hroup classes include jui jitsu, Zumba, yoga, and strength and conditioning. They also opened up a posing room for 360 degree view of your physique, adding lots of support for the local and visiting bodybuilders. Best personal training in the area! I have asked for a refund of the membership fees, since making the request for cancellation. I have called several times but can never reach a manager or get a return call from one. The wide array of old school machines and equipment make each workout a great one. Additionally the members are friendly and knowledgeable. Gym has a lot of equipment however the "trainer" and his girlfriend ruin this gym. It does not matter what time I go either him or her is in the way. The other day I was benching and this man had a rubber band stretched to the Smith machine close enough to touch me doing some BS stretching. That honestly could have been done in the room designed for the bands. He had 2 whole cable machines tied up, a Smith machine, a leg press and had a damn yoga ball at free weights doing some weird crap there. He is in the way. (He was not training anyone at the time) he is always in the way. His girlfriend is just as bad and never cleans up after herself she leaves rubber bands everywhere ND walks like she suffers invisible lat syndrome. I can not take it anymore and and building a garage gym. The owner does not care he is friends with them. I am waiting on my squat rack to arrive then myself and my 5 other first responders will cancel! I pay my membership and can't use the equipment because Nate the trainer and Ann hog up every thing. I've never seen this "trainer" even lift weights just uses bands. He shouldn't hog up so many y pieces of equipment! I know other members feel the same way and atleast 6 of us are leaving. Loving the vibe of this gym. I'm new to this gym and I am super happy. They have a bunch of different rooms and even a heavy lifting room. (Watch out! ) I've never used the booty builder machine and man my glutes are burning! That machine alone is worth the membership. One of the trainers came up and offered my sister and I some tips, for free, and we were blown away. We belong to Planet Fitness but also belong to Second Chance Fitness. The two gyms are light years apart, if you're looking for a real gym without all the "politically correct" nonsense this is the place to be. The equipment is real gym machines which work, if you're looking for personal training they have you covered! We currently use Jordan but they all seem to be experts in the field... The inconsistency of the staffs billing practices are completely unacceptable. Second, for the money, the amenities are just simply not enough. It's some, $70 for a month here, then to get behind another door to "special weights and barbells" is a so called "club" for another $60. Third, it's just too crammed. It's not a big enough facility to have 6 bicycle machines. Two pec fly machines. 4 different variations of the same positioned chest press machine. It's all too crammed and awkward. Fourth, theres no sauna, compared to the competition up the road for $30 a month, you get a sauna, turf, mirror room, and access to everything. Not saying that gym is any better, muscle asylum, because it's a start up and it's quite unorganized in and of itself, its cheaper with the same equipment. Cheaper by 50% in fact. By far the best gym around Port Charlotte! The service staff is very friendly and ready to help you in anyway needed. Jordan, the manager has such a winning personality and ranks exceptional in my book with customer satisfaction. He is also a skilled professional trainer. The gym offers many classes such as yoga, Zumba, as well as other classes in strength training. This gym is actually very well stocked with equipment and is open 24 hours . I just wish they would clean the mens room more often . I have been a member for about 3 months and in that time the mens room floor has been cleaned maybe once . This gym is great when it comes to equipment and availability, since it's a big gym. Also they provide great customer service. The only reason I don't give it a 5star rating is because of the bathroom/locker room areas. They definitely are in need of a major clean and/or update. I personally looking to workout before I go to the office and a shower/restroom area cleanliness is an important factor. Otherwise this is a great gym. read more

I love the gym, however the staff is very quickly going back to there old ways of laziness. I was there for couple hours and didn't see one person get there temp checked, nothing was cleaned the entire time I was there and some of the cleaning stations were missing paper towels meanwhile the lazy girl at the desk sits on her phone which is the only thing any of them do. I hope the owner get these staff members in shape otherwise the business will be reported to the CDC and local govt for unsanitary practices. Don't advertise your taking temps and cleaning bathrooms and equipment every hour during staffed hours when we all know that's not true. read more

This place used to be the best gym in town when Mel owned it. The only redeeming quality this gym has is the equipment. Now the equipment it's so crammed together due to the newly added private gym inside the gym, pretentious as fuck. If you want to use power lifting equipment in the new room then you're gonna pay double what the membership fees are, no thanks...another annoying thing about this gym is the new hours, closed at 7:00pm on Saturday and 10:00pm during the weekdays. I'm sure the new hours are a result of membership loss. One of the reasons I originally chose to go to this gym was because it was open later.
