Second seitz is an experience, and no one who has been here will deny that. Patti collects clothing, tells stories and cares deeply that you find what you're looking for. If you are not a fan of "the hunt" when shopping, I'd recommend going somewhere else. There's a ton of merchandise here from all over. Some vintage, some modern, lots of eccentric pieces. I recommend this place to all my friends, but I always let them know they have to make an appointment and that the store is very full. Definitely worth it if you're a thrifter. read more

I'm amazed at the positive reviews on here. Pros: Patty is an interesting woman with a lot of experiences to share. If you are looking to chat with an intelligent 80 year old storyteller- go here! She's very nice and I feel badly writing this, but a review like this is needed. A lot of unique and high quality clothes. Some really beautiful vintage dresses, too. Cons: VERY disorganized. Now Patty made it clear that customers were making her store a mess and throwing dresses and such on the floor. To me, there is so much merchandise that she cannot possibly have space for all of it. Dresses are hung on the walls. You can barely walk through the place. I called and made an appointment for prom shopping. Patty asked specific questions about my daughter's size and preferences. She asked me to text her to remind her of the appointment and that she'd pull dresses for us. Upon arrival, Patty did not remember our appointment, didn't remember the detailed 10 minute conversation on the phone, had not pulled dresses, and stated she had sold most of the 'bigger sizes' (size 14) yesterday. She told us that customers were not allowed to touch the dresses, but then told us to look around. You can't look at dresses there without moving other items. I respectfully asked her how we can look around without touching. She then gave permission for me to move dresses. Very confusing message. Overall, we felt very overwhelmed by the store. It felt like a hoarding situation in some ways. If you have the patience to look through piles of clothes, you may find some beautiful outfits and dresses. Plan to spend hours there then. To be honest, if I had known what I was walking into, I probably wouldn't have gone in at all. We didn't see many dresses that match the styles and preferences of Gen Z prom goers. read more

the woman who seems to run the place is the most interesting woman I have ever met in my life. I didn't know you had to have an appointment to try on dresses and I did not leave disappointed because she is full of Amazing Stories . She's definitely somebody I just might stop into visit just to chat with . I found a few decorative items to buy although my intentions were only for address. My daughter and I had a terrific experience with the owner. We were prom dress shopping. We made an appointment that started right on time. There was plenty of parking. We got not only a prom dress but 2 other dresses. Yes. Her shop is packed to the gills. I think calling it "Beirut" implies the place has destroyed items. All the items including the dresses are very, very High quality. She has true experience on what looks right on her client body type. We will definitely go back for senior prom. The owner of Second Seitz has helped me out twice for my oldest daughter's proms. She is wonderful to work with and the selection is at a fraction of the cost. I called her today looking for a shawl and she gave me tips to save me money. Even how to drape it for a waterfall look. She gave me directions of what to order. Lots of lovely designer suits, dresses, gowns and bridal gowns. Make an appointment for the bridal gown. All in excellent, dry-cleaned condition. French design in this shop so you'll find lots of Paris items. I spent 3 hours there looking and came out with fantastic buys, including a new St. John 2 piece sweater set I paid $30 for. Owner has such knowledge of what looks right on specific body types and will not steer you wrong. She gathers information on the phone ahead of time and has dresses in mind for you. My daughter has gotten dresses for the past 2 years and I will continue to recommend her to friends. Owner is patient and knows her fashion! We always end up with more than just a prom dress. Owner is very kind and straight forward with respect to what kind of dress/style would look best on the client and their body. She will let you try on what you want but will show you the "whys" that another style is the best for you. I found out about Second Seitz from a co-worker and former boss. I needed a mother-of-the-groom dress for my son's wedding this September. I called twice, got no answer, only to be called back a short time later by Patienne, the owner. She asked a lot of questions about my figure (which is challenging since I am short, plus size and have no boobs due to a double mastectomy :-)), the bridal colors, the venue, time, etc. She said she had a few choices for me and we made an appointment for the next day (today). She works by appointment only, which is good because of the individual attention she gives to each woman. My former boss came along for another set of trusted eyes. After winding our way upstairs through a little old house on the main drag in Skippack Village, crammed with dresses and other items, Pati showed me two dresses that she thought would work for me. The first one was ok, but the second one was PERFECT! I am very insecure about my appearance and I never dress up, but the dress made me look and feel fantastic! I cannot wait to wear it this September. She even gave advice about shoes and accessories which were spot on. Patienne truly has a gift. All of this for 65.00! I wish I could have looked at all the garments and other things there, but that would take several days. :-) So, if you need a special occasion dress, skip the big stores and th mall, and drive out to Skippack Village to Second Seitz. Second Seitz is a hidden gem! They're not online... and that's what makes it so great!! I've been to consignment shops, thrift stores, second hand shops, antique stores, flea markets, the works; this place takes the cake on unique finds! There are so many great things in this shop that I almost didn't want to post this so you all wouldn't go and buy everything that I wanted. What a great place!!! I went to look Ora mother of the bride gown. There were so many beautiful gowns it was hard to choose and the prices are ridiculously low! I tried on dresses that were originally up to $1,000. I'm sorry I didn't know about this quaint little shop in Skippack when my girls were going to their proms. It's tiny and down stairs is full of antiques but upstairs is so many gowns. The gowns are in different rooms but with so many gowns it's bulging at the seams but no worries, tie owner is so knowledgeable of her inventory she quickly can find you dresses to try on. You must all for an appointment but that is only because it's owner operated business. The owner spends so much time with you listening to your ideas and making great suggestions. She made the experience so pleasant. I would give this business more stars if I could. read more
