SO BIG! There is three different areas to browse! This came as a recommendation so my mom and I checked it out. We loved it. There is so much to offer. There is an area full of furniture, there is clothing, books, housewares ect. You name it they may have it. There is an extensive kids section as well. Pricing was pretty reasonable. It was not too high. Everything seemed organized for the most part. The staff was very helpful in all the stores we visited. If you are looking for something to do on a rainy day or thrifting is your thing, I highly recommend this location. read more

I'm going to first start off by saying this place was recommended a lot to go to. I didn't realize it was like various buildings and I think they should be more clear on that. With that being said we only went to the home decor building and the prices were RIDICULOUS. You get free merchandise and have volunteer workers why are you pricing old baskets for $15? Individual plates for $6? Used dirty tablecloths that are covered in stains and literally falling apart at the seams - $25. You're selling wrapping paper for $3 that's used when someone can go to the store to buy that for that price new. I'm not sure what your mission is or who you're getting money for but you're certainly not caring or sharing for the community that you live in. If the purpose of this store is only for people with money to blindly spend it then this is great. Goodwill is cheaper and they've also lost their minds. And you have a case of stuff with eBay photos. Is it actually posted on eBay or are you just showing us the price of the same items listed on eBay to justify why you're selling stuff at crazy prices. I still want to go check out the books because although this store was robbing people it was super clean and neat and organized but that's my only compliment. Just visited before Christmas. Unbelievable,well-organized selection 50% off. Everything else reasonable,good quality. Tons of items. Kind to this old lady in a wheel chair who still insists on thrifting! Book store looked incredible. Fantastic recommendation from a friend. Found cool Ralph Lauren Chaps label pseudo suede fur trimmed vest for about $20-didn't realize it was a Designer brand til I got home-over-thrifted for sure! Get to Zoto's Diner before it closes soon. Great retail therapy day! Love that is a missionary venture. Want my silly vanities to go someplace worthy. read more

Not worth going to. They take all their best items and list them on eBay for premium prices. So if you go there thinking that you will have first dibs on some type of cool item, you are unfortunately bound for disappointment. I saw a nearly $200 new in box lego that someone donated listed on their eBay store. Do us all a favor and take the term "thrift" out of your name. Easy to find, plenty of parking ~ the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes are located in a strip style mall.  We visited three of the five stores ~ The Outlet, The Book Store, and The Variety Store.   The Outlet housed clothes, odds and ends, children's items ~ everything here seemed to be priced very low...and the offerings here were most definitely of the 'no frills' type.  The Book Store was fantastic!  Every category, organized perfectly, and the incredible selection is huge.  It would be a difficult task to leave this shop empty handed.  Our visit was on a Friday afternoon, the store had plenty of patrons and the young gentleman at the checkout counter was so polite and friendly ~ it was a definite bonus and incentive to visit again. The Variety Store was big and packed with everything under the sun.  There was a lot to take in here and it was so much fun to see everything this place had to offer.  The prices were a little higher than your usual thrift store, but most  of the items were in good shape.   Home and wall decor, candles, linens, kitchenware, curtains, pillows, etc.  ~ a little bit of everything... and again....it would be very hard to exit this wonderful shop without making a purchase or two. With the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes being  separated into different buildings, it would be easy to spend a few hours here.  The staff are courteous, helpful and their constant attention to the store surely shows ~ it's filled with inventory and the customers are plentiful. read more

I volunteered here. My religious convictions are sincere. I had experience working the cash register from a previous volunteer experience in Clothing. While attempting to get on my register for my three-hour volunteer obligation, an older male (octogenarian) in the Variety store insisted on showing me the register while his hands wandered freely up and down both arms and across my back. This was one of the most egregious examples of sexual harassment and it really unnerved me. Management's response was extremely slow and inappropriate when we reported him. There is more but we told it to the Hilltop police. read more

I kept seeing their commercials on repeat so I had to plan a visit - 6 thrift stores in one (as they advertise) I'm in! I didn't care that the drive was nearly two hours one way! After visiting I don't see how they figure it's 6 thrift stores in one, but I did appreciate the three separate stores. One was all clothes, another furniture and bigger items, and a third toys, household, and linens. However in every store I found the prices close to retail new, which really was a disappointment. I will say they are organized well, although the sorting was not perfect. I did find damaged items without consideration in price. The stores are clean and well kept. The housewares with the toys was probably the most unkept. The volunteers all very friendly. They really push volunterism - is that a word??? - in their signage all over the place, which made me wonder why if they don't have employee overhead are the prices so high. I did find the ladies clothing section to be oddly displayed by size. Like a random small rack than extra large next to it and in multiples. I didn't see any shoes for less than $20. Overall this was the most expensive thrift store I've ever been to....anywhere! I didn't come across the "outlet" room as the other reviewers mentioned but wished I did. Maybe that would have made the drive worth it, as I left emtpy handed. Edit to add: there was another store - full of books, which I didn't go into. ONE OF THE BEST THRIFT SHOPS AROUND!!!! i literally recommend care & share to everyone and anyone who wants a good, affordable thrift shop. my absolute favorite thing about care & share is that any clothing that isn't perfect (some pilling, stains, needs a wash, small holes, etc.) is sold per the pound (in the very last store on the left). Most thrift stores either throw these clothes out or recycle them, but with a little extra effort and care, most of these clothes can be bought and have a second life! i always find amazing sweaters (wool, cashmere, vintage, etc.) there, and a sweater comes out to less than a dollar! i also feel great donating clothes here because i'm more certain clothing won't end up in a landfill. they have a great book selection, and it's one of the largest i've seen in a thrift store that isn't exclusively a book thrift store! the color tag of the week is 50% off monday-friday and 75% off saturday. if you look for tag items, you can find really great deals! i attached some images of the things i have found here! read more

The selection is nice, and everything is pretty neatly organized. Another plus is that the workers are all very friendly and helpful, this is great considering I believe some, if not most, are volunteers. Only reason it doesn't get five stars is because of pricing. I'm going to a thrift store because I can't afford 30-40$ jeans, it doesn't help much that the jeans are 25$. Prices should be lower. read more

The store is organized so you can figure out what is men's, women's, and children's. But I did not end up buying anything because the prices were so high .The prices have a starting price on everything, so the many items I saw were well above the prices on the signs. Used shoes are very high priced. So altogether just disappointed that the prices are so high and instead of wanting to buy about 3 items I passed on them...rather buy an item brand new on sale at a retail store at these prices. read more

I have been a long time customer and used to love shopping here. I've even made some sizeable donations over the years. The other day, my wife and I came in looking to buy some children's books but were told when we walked in that they do not serve people with disabilities that prevent them from wearing masks. I respectfully informed the the woman employee telling us this of the ADA and HIPAA make that illegal, but she just scoffed at us and said they did not care and that we had to leave. I've shopped here multiple times without a mask and other workers have always accepted that my wife and I have medical exemptions, but this woman not only would not accept that, she was incredibly rude about it. I even offered to show my doctor's note but she just mockingly said she would have to take me at my word before telling me to leave. I've never been one to make a fuss and didn't here either, but I will write a review on my experience since she was so rude in how she treated us and probably others with similar disabilities that prevent them from wearing masks. If I were the lawsuit type, the fines for this kind of violation of the ADA can be over $100,000 for companies that discriminate against people who have medical disabilities like they did us. I would hate to see that happen to a company like this doing charitable work in the community. I hope someone will make sure the employees here will receive proper training so that this kind of issue doesn't happen again to others who might take legal action. I can say for sure, however, that it won't happen again to my wife and I since we don't plan on ever going back after this. read more

The silent auction USED to be very well run. Now they have a phone app that you have to use. Much of what they put on the app is junk and they offer shipping as if they think they will get more buyers from out of the area. They have an eBay account that they talk about for that kind of stuff. Years ago there was a lot more good things to bid on and it was easy to do. I no longer come into the store because that was the biggest reason I went in. These are hands down the best thrift stores in the area. Arguably in the country. I've been to many thrift stores. I've lived in many places. Most thrift stores don't have quality items. This store does. On their last special sale day I got an antique pigeonhole desk for $90. I was thrilled. You WILL pay for better quality items. This is basic Adam Smith, free-market capitalism, supply and demand. If you don't like it go somewhere with socialism or communism. Now to answer all the bad reviews due to price: If they can get higher prices (and obviously they do or they wouldn't still be around) they not only can, they SHOULD because they are using the funds to donate to charity, unlike many other big-name thrift stores where the $ goes into the owners pockets. Also I've noticed this trend: Many of these negative reviews start out "I've been shopping here for years and now the prices are too high." Really? Why didn't you review all those other times you went here and got a good deal? I almost wish yelp had a comment function because I really want to comment on some of the more ridiculous reviews. Anyway. My point is this: maybe you saw this one special item you really wanted but it was too expensive. So what? Life goes on. Do you really have to write a negative one star review based on THAT? What about all the times you got Well thanks because by keeping the rating down you're keeping my favorite thrift place a secret and less people will know it's there. For anyone who doesn't know about care and share they have a HUGE complex arranged according to type. Furniture, books, clothing, various and super thrift (buy by the bag). The furniture is literally some of the best in the country. Seriously. You could buy stuff here and truck it anywhere else in the country and open a boutique. I've thought about it. Also please remember many of the "employees" are actually volunteers just like you and me. Anyway I appreciate this thrift store. I appreciate their sign outside in English and Arabic and Spanish that says all people are welcome here. These guys in the back are petty af. We dropped off hundreds of dollars worth of stuff, not so much even asking for a donation ticket... There was an item that they couldn't take (tea pot or something), so I go to throw it in the dumpster 10 feet away. "Sir, this is not a dumping ground" My man, it's literally one thing and we just gave you a ton of stuff, which you will sell, for profit... "You cannot put that in there" Cool. I left it at the entrance, you clean it up. I've never been so happy to donate to a good cause and so annoyed at a grown man acting like a freaking toddler with a whistle in my life. read more

I really liked this place- I came from Philly to do a suburbs day and found a ton of great stuff to try on! I ended up spend $20 on about 6 items including a coat. My friend spend $35 and got 8 things. I'm not sure what all the hate is about in the other reviews but I loved it! The only reason i'm giving it 4 stars is because the bathroom is closed and we had to go to the pizza place next to it to pee, but we got yummy food there so it wasn't all that bad :) Will definitely be going back! read more

No bathrooms! Be aware that they do not provide facilities for their customers. They don't "care" if you have to pee! You can share your money and donations, though! This huge series of thrift stores takes up most of the strip mall, and they have NO bathrooms. The other stores are all small and or private practices that also don't provide bathrooms, especially for non customers. You could easily spend hours between the 5 care and share shops, so, make sure not to eat or drink anything before you go! That being said, they have a lot of stuff. We have been donating and shopping there for the past 3 years since moving to the area. The outlet is super cool and you can dig thru big bins to buy clothes and linens by the pound. Their regular clothes store is pricey for thrift, but sometimes you can get a find. We also really love the book store. The variety store is fun too. Once they open up their facilities, I'll go back! read more

Staff is very friendly and the store is well organized but their record prices are getting very pricey. Recently saw $15 for a Beach Boys 45, did not even have a generic white picture sleeve. Ouch! My Buddy shops and donates a lot of books and has noticed the rise in book prices as well. I still swing in from time to time but I do shop as frequently. read more

Doesn't accommodate someone who can't wear a mask. Had my 2 year old in the stroller without a mask with the baby and my 7 year old walking with me (he wasn't wearing a mask). I was told we couldn't be in there unless my 7 year old and 2 year old was masked. Smelled awful in there. Moldy cigarette smell and people were not social distancing yet they were concerned about a kid without a mask, The worlds gone mad. 100% do not recommend. Also, their prices are not thrift stores prices. A broken piggy bank was $6. No thanks. read more

As others have mentioned, this thrift shop has everything separated by item: outlet room, clothing, knick knacks, furniture. The outlet room is great for cheap books (only 29c a pound!), but I didn't find anything else. There were some neat things in the knick knack room though. Every weeks it looks they do different color tags on sale, so that's always a plus. It's worth a look if you're in the area though. read more

As many others have mentioned, this place is probably the most overpriced thrift store in existence. It feels like a pawn shop in what they're asking for things. It's especially insidious because it's run by the nearby mega mansion church just up the road. I guess they need to charge above retail prices to afford the property taxes on their compound? These folks do a great disservice to their Mennonite brethren, the Amish, by being so financially motivated. Just like the Landis supermarkets, who are likewise exceptionally overpriced, and coincidentally run by folks from that same super church. The creepy as hell Jesus music piping through the place really emphasizes that they're not fond of outsiders and leaves many feeling unwelcome. Take every 5 star review with a grain of salt, I'm willing to bet they're all from congregation members promoting their own. read more

Located in Souderton Center, Care & Share is divided up into different stores which include the welcome center, donation center, outlet, variety, clothing and furnitire. Don't bother bringing anything to the counter if the sticker fell off. They won't sell it to you. They might as well accuse you of stealing!! Also, Be prepared to have a HOLD on your card until another person bids if you decide to participate in the Silent auction, which is unheard of - especially when they run for 5 days before resetting. I think people need to remember that this is a thrift shop. You're paying less than market value for used items: if you don't like the price, then don't buy it! And don't expect the employees/volunteers to be waiting on you hand and foot! Sure, things are sometimes over-priced. But they are sometimes way under-priced. Consistently wonderful. These people ought to write a 'How To" book on thrift shops. Pros: The Shoppes are split into three distinct areas: "Furniture" "Clothing" and "Variety" (everything else). This makes it easy to find what you want., without having to wade through the stuff you're not interested in. There's nothing NASTY in there. Items are meticulously clean, and sorted into the appropriate areas. Staff walks around and tidies up behind messy shoppers. No gnarly stuffed animals~ Amen! The staff are helpful, and careful to ring you up properly. Items are tested, and they put a sticker on that says "WORKS" or describe what does not work (i.e. "lights up, does not make noise") so you know you're not going home with a 'dud'. They check the games and puzzles for ALL the parts, then seal the boxes to keep anklebiters from befouling them! The Variety Section has books, movies, toys, household/kitchen stuff. Sets (like cannisters) are marked 'Set of 3" so you end up with all the pieces you need. (Or so some stinker doesn't bogart just the one they're missing, leaving you outta luck.) Knitting needles are measured by size (sometimes they're a size or two off.) Books are seperated by genre. All kids books in one sections, mags in another, etc. Extra cool stuff is sold either though 'Silent Auctions" or on ebay. Between "Furniture" and "Variety" they have a Fair Trade Store. The chocolate and jewelry are tops; great for gifts! Lots of sewing supplies. They also 'recycle' by making bags, quilt squares, and rags out of clothes that don't sell. I think this is also how they get such a great selection of buttons. Cons: The stores are so popular that it's often elbow-to-elbow in there on a Saturday. They only take donations until 4pm. And they're FIRM on that. (We've missed the deadline several times.) Not open on Sunday, and only 1 night a week, hence the crowds on Saturday. The only other thing I would suggest is that they have a few boxes of 'Parts" for kids toys and games. If you know what they are, you can buy them for your replacements. (Many thrifts throw out partial games, and mfg's can charge almost as much for 'parts' as they do a whole game. This could be lucrative if a thrift store worked it right!) Better than Heaven: HALF-PRICE sales. Folks start lining up an hour before they open! read more

Our family of five first went to the Care not long after moving to the area from Santa Fe in June. We had driven past it on many occasions and finally decided to drop in and check it out on a Saturday while running other errands. The place is laid out strip mall style and is actually a series of stores that include a furniture store, used books, clothing, a variety store and finally a clearance store that sells the stuff that doesn't really sell at the other shops, only by weight. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive around the shoppes. Our first stop was the furniture store. We weren't expecting to buy anything but wanted to check it out anyway. They price their items with different color price tags and every Saturday, have a 75% off sale of a particular color. Like I said, we walked in not expecting to buy anything and walked out with a bunch of great stuff! Now, much of the stuff in the stores is priced much higher than we would normally pay for second hand items but they give so much back to the community. We kind of feel guilty only going on Saturdays! Back to the review. The book store carries a wide variety of books, movies and video games. Everyone in our family always finds something good to read, from Dad and Mom to the 11, 7 and 6 years olds respectively. I think next to the furniture store, the variety store is our second favorite place to stop in. Dishes, kitchen essentials, knick knacks, toys, pet supplies, games and a whole lot more. We always make a few great finds during our Saturday outings. Our last great find was a cast iron fondue set that normally retails at $105, priced at $12.99. After the 75% discount, we walked out of there with it at $3.25. You just can't beat that. We don't normally stop into the clothing store but the last time we did, found a few decent things for the kids. Mom and I haven't really looked for ourselves yet. Finally the clearance store! Everything is priced by weight and priced low at that. Although NOT priced by weight, I bought each of my three kiddos near perfect condition bikes for a fraction of what I would pay at a regular store. We usually walk away with a box or bag full of stuff for under $10. I cannot say enough good things about The Care and Share Shoppes. Within the last couple months, we've made several purchases of large furniture items and plan on continuing to shop at all the shops for as long as we live in the area. read more

Actually 3 different stores side by side. Clothing, furniture, then books and suitcases and whatever else. Clothing selection is compact but packs a punch. Nice old cardigans for $4 that you'd pay $32 for in San Francisco. Also a good amount of flannel and plaid long sleeved shirts. You can find a book or two in the other store. Not really any records. A lot of junk in here, but worth scanning. There are some really nice old furniture pieces. Pricey but worth it if you're looking. The kind of place you could visit once a month and be happy and satisfied with your finds. read more

It was only after I moved to NYC that I TRULY appreciated how great a thrift store Care & Share is. Everything here is clean and organized. Clothes are organized by color AND size, which saves a ton of time. Clothing is extraordinarily cheap. There's now a separate store for clothes, variety, furniture, books, and a whole separate outlet store that sells stuff for stupid cheap. I got 7 books (mostly hardcovers) for 99 cents! Love this place, despite my best efforts. On the third Friday of each month, everything is 50% off. So this past Friday I went in and got: Two pairs of pants (from Gap, in my size) 4 silk scarves (to wear as headbands in the summer) 3 gold chains (thin ones, but the perfect length for some of the pendents I have at home) 1 clutch purse (grey, super cute, perfect size for clubbing) 1 black shirt from NY and Co. 2 bowls for my kitchen 1 vintage candle-holder 1 bag of misc fabric for making pillows For $25. And for $20 my sister got a whole set of china- service for 4... You really can't beat that. So yes it's crowded, and yes you have to go through a lot of junk to find the gems, but you'll never leave empty-handed. read more

Have visited care and share twice since I moved nearby. The store is a gem! If you are willing to sift through a lot of items to find the perfect book, furniture, or clothing this is your place! They frequently have 50% off sales. I went today (during 50% sale) and got 8 books (all well known titles too) for $5!!!
