So now I don't have the key I offered to buy or the one that was offered by Ford for free. If this post stops even one person from going through what I did, it's worth it. I bought a Ford EcoSport, and at just 26,000 miles, the transmission failed. That's ridiculous. But it gets worse -- when they "fixed" it, they didn't even put enough transmission fluid in the car. That careless mistake caused even more issues down the line. Still, somehow, I gave them another chance. When I went in for a simple oil change, they talked me into looking at new cars -- and I made the mistake of driving off the lot with a Ford Escape. Big mistake. Since then, I've taken the Escape to the Bill Cole Ford service department FIVE times. Let me be blunt: I've never dealt with a group that showed less care or professionalism. * I've begged to speak to a service manager, and no one has ever called me back. * Last week, my car sat at their service department from Tuesday to Saturday, and I didn't get a single update. When someone finally called, it was to ask why I hadn't picked up my car -- as if I was the one dropping the ball! * They claimed they "fixed" it after driving it 40 miles -- but the moment I got back on the road, every sensor lit up again. All they did was run down my gas and waste more of my time. * And of course, when I called back again -- radio silence. No return call. No resolution. I've completely given up on getting anything fixed at this point. I'm beyond disappointed -- I'm disgusted. This whole experience has been one giant, expensive lesson. I called two weeks ago about my estimate and scheduling to bring my car in. They said they'll get back to me by Friday (two weeks ago). They never did. Another week passes by. Today (Monday I call) and they have to look up my information and tell me their guy will look at today (only because I called them). They are too busy apparently and three weeks in advance is just too little time for them to call a customer back who got an estimate done per their instructions.
