When the salon I frequented stopped doing nails, I began a frantic search for a local place that could do nail art with gel polish. I tried a different place and had a horrible experience. Then, a friend of mine told me to try Secret Beauty. Wow, this was a much better experience than I had hoped for. First of all, the hospitality was top notch. I was immediately greeted when I came in. It was a bitterly cold day, and they offered me coffee to help warm me up, which I gladly accepted. The nail tech I got was great. She was very personable and professional. She did exactly what I asked and the nails came out great. She gave me great feedback and realistic expectations of what type of nail art she could provide going forward. The salon and bathrooms were clean and well kept. Place was very festively decorated for the holidays as well. I was able to book my next appointments with ease. Upon checking out, the staff was very interested in how I felt the experience was, genuinely looking for constructive criticism for ways to improve. Honestly, I didn't have anything negative to say, which was great. They also gave me a nice little new client welcome kit which included a pamphlet on what services they offer, a coupon, and a pen. I wanted to go from my dark black hair to blonde but was unsure where to go. The first time I went blonde was almost 7 years ago and the salon I went to left me with dry, damaged, brittle hair. She was honest about the difficulties with dying my hair because of the color and length but we were able to achieve the blonde I wanted after a couple sessions!! So I have been living in Cumberland for about 4 years now and have never committed to a hair salon since I would just get it done when I went home to visit my family in New Jersey. I figured it was time to make the plunge and fin myself a hair salon/stylist. The first thing I did was jump onto Yelp to see what everyone was saying and I loved the reviews and photos for Secret Beauty Spa so I called to see what they had available. The girl on the phone was super polite and talked through some options with me and the pricing they had. I decided to make the appointment and go for it. I arrived at the spa and was instantly greatest by the girl at the front. The spa is so trendy and clean, which you don't also find. My appointment was with Brittany (who by the way is the cutest, most bubbly girl you will ever come across) and she was so great! She introduced herself and talked though what I wanted to have done, which made me feel super comfortable. She offered my a beverage and we got to it. Brittany was so fun to talk to and it made the appointment that much better. It was nice to learn that the owner & stylist are constantly educating themselves on new things that are going on in the world of hair through on-site training sessions and off-site class at world famous salons! So we ended up doing Balayage and a cut (which once you see the photos you will agree I needed) which came out better than I thought it was going to and only cost me $145 which to me seemed like an awesome price. I also purchased a shampoo/conditioner (with no pressure from Brittany) and spun the wheel to get free Dermologica products as well. It was no surprise when my mother told me that she was planning to open her own salon, but I was still excited and so happy for her when she did. She and her team know their stuff. Simply the best in hair and makeup. Travel from New York just to get my hair and makeup done by these professional fabulous women! The salon is gorgeous and welcoming, its the perfect place to spend some girl time. Kelly and Brooke did the makeup and hair for my wedding 3 weeks ago and it was perfect!! My bridesmaid looked flawless. Kelly really is a professional and so good at what she does. She matches the makeup to the skin tone and it looks perfect. Airbrush lasted all night and didn't run when we cried. Each girl had their own style and she helped make the makeup match each girls style they looked beautiful! I didn't even have to give Brooke direction and she took my idea by the reigns and did an amazing job with the all our hairs. The bridesmaids hairstyles looked right off the runway!
