We were working with an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT seller. We had been renting the property for the prior 3 1/2 years and the communicated intent was always for us to purchase when she was ready to sell. Well the seller continuously put up RIDICULOUS roadblocns and was dangling the purchase in front of us the entore time. Always threatening that if we disnt do what she asked, the deal would die. One of the issues was 4 missing items that she had left on the property for us to use which either never worked or broke over the course of time and we had replaced them at our cost. The seller was demanding a stupid amount of $ to "recoup her loss" or else she would not agree to close. Mind you this happened the day BEFORE we were supposed originally close! Both Henny AND Maureen each gave us one of the items as replacements, from their PERSONAL PROPERTY! That's a caring human being! One item was a push lawn mower and the other was an electric dryer! Not cheap items to sacrifice! But they did it....and graciously! We have been blown away by their kindness and generosity. Beyond that Maureen kept in constant contact with us and helped us get to and through our closing finally, just yesterday. The seller held it up for over 4 months! Horrible experience with Haus Capital when buying our first home. There were lots of promises made…read moreabout closing dates at the beginning (promises that other mortgage companies could not make so we ended up going with Haus) just to have them say at the last minute that they had to change our closing date. Also lots of hidden fees everywhere. We had to fight tooth and nail to get a lower interest rate when they initially told us that they were giving us the best rate available. Sam and his team were very dishonest and opaque about the whole mortgage process and it made the purchase of our home a very stressful one. Look elsewhere at all costs unless you feel equipped to read between the lines at all stages of the mortgaging process and don't mind being lied to repeatedly.
