I cannot say enough good about Maureen Davis & Henny O'Connor and Oxford Capital! Their willingness to go above and beyond, their genuine kindness, their generosity, their KNOWLEDGE, their continual encouragement and overall support throughout the entire process of buying our first home was second to NONE!! We were working with an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT seller. We had been renting the property for the prior 3 1/2 years and the communicated intent was always for us to purchase when she was ready to sell. Well the seller continuously put up RIDICULOUS roadblocns and was dangling the purchase in front of us the entore time. Always threatening that if we disnt do what she asked, the deal would die. One of the issues was 4 missing items that she had left on the property for us to use which either never worked or broke over the course of time and we had replaced them at our cost. The seller was demanding a stupid amount of $ to "recoup her loss" or else she would not agree to close. Mind you this happened the day BEFORE we were supposed originally close! Both Henny AND Maureen each gave us one of the items as replacements, from their PERSONAL PROPERTY! That's a caring human being! One item was a push lawn mower and the other was an electric dryer! Not cheap items to sacrifice! But they did it....and graciously! We have been blown away by their kindness and generosity. Beyond that Maureen kept in constant contact with us and helped us get to and through our closing finally, just yesterday. The seller held it up for over 4 months! I have never been so disappointed with a home buying experience. The broker didn't know basic mortgage rules and laws which became clear after switching to another lender. The broker kept stringing us along for 4 months not only frustrating us but the seller as well. I can not recommend this company. read more

I DONT RECOMMEND OXFORD CAPITAL! I tried to do business with Oxford mortgage and dealt with Nick the owner and his staff after almost 6 months of my loan not closing and several lies I decided to take my business elsewhere the new company Premium Mortgage had my loan closed in under 7 weeks not months! I do not recommend Oxford or Nick! It's unfortunate when an owner forgets what the process is like and how this is most people largest investment and how stressful the process can be! Stay away! Do not use! Horrible service. I would recommend you stay away from this company. The communication ranged from sporadic to nonexistent. All the information Oxford asked from me was provided timely, but my repeated emails and text messages for an update went unanswered. After two months of this cycle repeating, I called the underwriting company to cancel this loan application (since my broker was not responding to me) only to discover that the status had been changed to not active almost a week prior. This process was a total waste of my time and energy and, in the end, cost me money. read more

Avoid at all costs! This was the worst experience I have had with a home mortgage loan working with Nick Castronova. I started my application in February 2022 and by the middle of July 2022 (5 months!!), we still were not able to close. The only way Nick would respond to me was if I threatened to cancel the loan that I ended up doing. He kept stringing me along saying next week we will close then another document was requested. I was hoping a broker might make things easier, I was sorely wrong. I ended up losing the money spent on an appraisal too that Nick guaranteed I could get transfer to another bank if I needed to. I started the process directly with a local bank and literally closed in 3 weeks. Try anywhere else before Oxford capital. read more

I am extremely unsatisfied with my experience with maureen davis and Oxford capital. 6 months it took to close on a single family home. Throughout the entire process I was left in the dark and being told "we will let you know what you need to know when you need to know it" and being a first time home buyer i blindly believed that to be true. Boy was I in for a rude awakening. So originally had an accepted offer mid September 2020 and estimated closing was November 20th. The first 6 weeks went smoothly not any real hurdles then it began the downhill spiral. At the 6 week mark I had a meeting with maureen and brought her bank statements to subit to the lender. Which she "accidentally shredded and never submitted" So small detour from the story. The home was built in 1901. The lender wanted proof of led in paint we determined that there was no led when a sample was examined by a lab. The lender presumed there was going to be led somewhere (with no evidence). Could not find a led certified contractor to provide us with an estimate so we had a gentleman kind enough to schedule the course to become certified. So back to the timline. We found out in the very beginning of December that the course was jan 18th 2021 so docs expired and I was told we would have everything updated and ready to go once the contractor is certified should be no longer than 2 weeks to get everything in order. So 2 weeks go by with no real updates just got the run around of "oh just waiting for the under writer" so I called the underwriter. Said they are waiting for docs to be submitted. Maureen continuously blew me off and told me whatever it took to get me to off of her back and we flat out caught her lying when the sellers realtor sent a voice recording to me that matched NONE of the information I was given. So now middle of February we comtacted the president at Oxford (i believe nick was his name) to talk with maureen to get an accurate story. She then called me at 9pm occusing me of calling her boss and "lying" and trying to "get her in trouble" when every single thing we spoke about was absolutely true. so after speaking and working with the seller of the home very closely we finally closed on March first. The entire time I had no clue what my closing cost was until I was on my way to sign closing docs. I maintained this home for 3 months prior to closing to ensure the home was not sitting vacant over a new York winter and was paying the utilities and paying a portion of the sellers mortgage payment. I work in the automotive industry and if I EVER spoke with a customer or held a customer deal up for this amount of time and continuously didn't return calls or sent snarky rude one word messages back about serious questions regarding business, I would be looking for work ON A DIFFERENT CONTINENT. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND MAUREEN DAVIS IF A LIFE DEPENDED ON IT. I hope no one ever has to endure the 6 months of BS we went through. I would never recommend this company to handle any type of deal. ***Edit. Nick reached out to me and wished to speak more about my situation. We scheduled a phone conversation a week ago and I have still not heard from anyone. At least they are consistent. Consistently failing to meet deadlines, sticking to the timeline and failing to keep their promises. What a joke read more

If we could give this company a negative I would. Since Aug. 2016, we have been working with Nick Castronova. We needed to get pre-qualified for a new home built and then for a construction loan. The pre-qualification was quick. For the past months, I have been having an awful feeling about this loan. He never calls me back when he promises. Always giving me a song and dance. He made the mistake of telling me what company he was working with. I called them today and the NEVER heard of him and do not have any application for us!!!! Because of the info Nick told us and his guidance on the loan and time frame, we made choices, that are now going to cost us a lot of extra money!!! I am checking into if there is anything we can do legally against this company or this person. I AM SO SICK THAT HE LIED TO US. Shame on him and this company!! read more
