Landlords: Stay away from this company! They charge $37 to tenants for the privilege of filling out their stupid application. Then they show the property for MONTHS, collecting a tidy sum from all the applications. You as a property owner lose two months rent. Their business model does NOT benefit the property owner; I offered to pay a year of rent upfront, yet my message was never delivered to the owner, which was too bad for them as I have excellent credit and references and a year upfront is a sweet deal for a landlord. Tenants: I was charged $37 PLUS I was told I would hear back either way within 4-6 days. It took SIX WEEKS for them to get back to me. Of course now I know it's because they were making a cool $3000 from applications. I would NEVER use them as my property management company and will NEVER apply to one of their properties as a tenant again. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. This review is overdue but we've been so busy unpacking. We moved to the East Bay from Concord. We were looking for a house in the El Cerrito/Richmond Heights area. We bid on five houses and each time we were either backups and or we were getting beat out by cash. Something wasn't right. We had an agent from a popular local group but our agent was inflexible and didn't have a good strategy for the cash market. We also felt that the agent wasn't committed. So we asked around for referrals from friends and family and that's how we found Ken Rogai. Ken is an absolute professional with many connections in the area. We called him on a Thursday, he met us on Sunday and took us to open houses (something our other agent never did) and we bid on our current house the following Wednesday. That's 6 days from the day we contacted him - and we were in contract. He knew every agent at every open house. He was always greeted warmly and with the familiar tone of friends. These kinds of relationships go a long way in this business. Ken was a part of the process every step of the way, from the appraisal to signing papers, he never phoned it in. His past experience in the construction business was helpful to have when looking at houses. He really is a complete package and should we ever need to move again, he will be the one we call. I would have loved to give these guys a good review since at the start I did have a good experience, however as the application process went on that's when it all Went down hill. They knew my situation was very time sensitive, yet they would never answer my calls and take 2-3 days to get back to me regarding questions about the property. Then after the approval status was complete, they told me I wasn't approved, not because my qualifications didn't meet their standards, but because "the other tenant has had issues in the past with my BREED of dog". They basically gave the other tenant the final decision over my approval/livelihood. And then after asking to speak to the other tenant to find a work around the situation they kept beating around the bush and never gave me a clear answer. One piece of advise to this company would be to "be as transparent as possible with your clients" transparency goes a long way and would make this company seem more professional. And call back your clients when they're trying to reach you, after reading past reviews I can see that this happens often hopefully you all will fix this eventually read more

I rent from them at an apartment in San Pablo and everything was going well until they charged me $240 out of the blue for two maintenance request that I have made to get my blinds fixed and some refrigerator door handles fixed. These repairs cost roughly $40 to repair. Never the less they tacked on $240 to my rent without previous notification. Now I feel like nervous about even being in this apartment. I'm nervous about making any more maintenance request, I'm nervous about paying my rent 4 months in advance for fear that they might deduct from my rent payment for unnotified fees. This is unfair but I'm going to pay it because I want to keep a roof over me and my children's heads. For now. Even though the cost of living in the Bay Area is high I am making plans and moves to start looking to move. Not only this but they increase my rent by $110 suddenly when they had to make repairs to the entire building as requested by the city that we live in. read more
