My last time I brought the two dogs with a picture of the style I wanted them groomed, we agreed on a price which I paid. When I picked up the dogs, they were not groomed as agreed and the explanation was that it was too much work. In a few words despite the price agreed and paid in full the dogs are awfully groomed, I didn't get the style I wanted nor I could have a refund (even partial) nor any possibility to have the job completed. Unreliable, unprofessional and rude!

Grooming has always been a challenging experience for him, so I'm very selective about where I take him. Sydney was absolutely amazing. She was calm, patient, and incredibly understanding of his anxiety. Despite his anxiety, she was able to trim his nails and give him a full bath, which is not an easy task. What really stood out was her communication. She kept me updated throughout the appointment and even sent me a picture, which gave me so much reassurance knowing he was safe and in good hands. Because of this great experience, we already booked our next appointment. If you have an anxious or nervous dog, I highly recommend That Dirty Dog and Sydney. Finding someone you can trust with your dog is priceless, and I'm so grateful we found her.

As soon as we pull into the parking lot, one starts barking excitedly and lunges toward the door when I take her out of the car. When we go through the entrance, they run over to the great folks that work there, tails wagging like crazy. It didn't use to be this way...One of my dogs (the lunger) had a bad experience with boarding elsewhere, and it took a few years before she stopped displaying extremely anxious behavior when left in other people's care, even in a new place. She's quirky and often misunderstood, but the folks at BF were patient and brought her back out of her shell. Now she can't get enough time there! We have been coming to BF Boxford for at least 5 years now, and it's wonderful knowing that we can go away and our beloved dogs will be in great hands. The people working there appear to really love animals, which, IMHO, is the most important quality to look for in a boarder. The grooming is awesome too!

The owner makes a 7:30 am drop off specially for cats so they are not stressed about dogs. Which is thoughtful. She has a gate on her porch to prevent dogs from running out the door into the parking lot or street. Very good idea. I brought my cat there just recently, and had him shaved. I neglected grooming- sorry. They did an awesome job. Did EXACTLY what I wanted. Lickety-split in under 30 minutes. Without a single nick. Bailey, the feisty cat, is so happy to be rid of his mats. Anyway, I'll definitely bring him in on a regular basis to prevent mats from coming. Highly recommend Bark of the Town.

First time taking my dog here and will most definitely be the last of i could give this place 0…read morestarts i definitely would , i have been trying out different groomers for my dog for a few of her grooming's now but i have never experienced what i have with this location ... my dog was booked for a appointment weeks in advance for a full grooming service at 8:30 am , now i understand that there is no set timing on how long it takes to groom a dog but please keep in mind my dog is very tiny and barely 50lbs, they ended up taking over 6 WHOLE HOURS to groom my dog for a 8:30AM appointment my poor baby had not eaten for that whole time, i ended up picking her up at about close to 3:00pm that day. I have brought to her to multiple groomers since her last permanent groomer and i have never had any of them take such a large amount of time to groom her like this on top of it all she was trimmed very unevenly and over all horribly , She also tends to get Tear stains in the eye which usually get removed by the groomer as much as they can and i got her back with her eyes pretty much the same very dark and stained not much done to them, overall a very unpleasant experience and for the price that was paid ($100.00) it was definitely NOT worth it.Won't be retuning or recommending anyone here in the future. ****HAD TO UPDATE MY REVIEW BECAUSE I CAN NOT RESPOND TO THE OWNERS COMMENT below******* ... but there is absolutely no excuse on why a dog should take 6 hours to groomed and i was the one who called you around about 2:15 that afternoon you told me Chanel would have been ready in 45 minutes after our call at 2:15 so it was not that that's when i could make it there it's because that's what was told to me over the phone at that time . I did not get a call back so i made my way there on my own terms being that she had already been there WELL OVER 5 hours it could have been from 8:30-2:00 or 8:30-3:00 does not make any more of a difference from the fact that you took so long with my dog for something i could have done at my home with a pair of house scissors and a shaver and as for the part where you said my dog was dropped off last????.. your location opens at 7:30 am so how is a 8:30 am appointment your last appointment of the day it makes absolutely no sense ? That is something that you should take accountability for as a owner to make sure your groomers aren't over booking their clients my mom was 100% unaware that this would take 5+ hours because if that was the case we wouldn't have called as many times as we did to check up on her & we most likely wouldn't have brought her to you at all & she was also unaware of the fact that you were going to shave her she discusses a trimming with you and another thing My mom came in at 12:00pm to pick up Chanel and you never said anything about it taking an extra 4 HOURS your professionalism is terrible take some accountability because after reading through half of your reviews I'm clearly not the first or the last person this is going to happen to, she has gone to PROFESSIONAL places with more dogs and they have done way better work and taken way less time with her , at the end of the day the price does not matter to me it's the quality and you took hours with my dog to make her look like a shaved rat with no type of effort to even clean her tear stains something that every other groomer i have taken her to to does with no complaints or EXCUSES do better Angela because i don't see your business lasting much longer i will make sure to tell everyone i know about your professionalism it's disgusting clearly your the one who cares only about the money in this situation and on top of it all trying to make your clients look like liars isn't a good look either again take some accountability.

I do admit she had mats. When I picked her up, the cost was $120 to shave her down, no shampooing. I didn't notice until I got her home and let her out of the carrier, The WORST HACK JOB, my poor cat! She was so uneven and irritated in some areas. Everyone noticed. I will never take my cat/s there again!I I read other negative reviews on Google after I posted my own, and the owner hasn't even had the decency to respond to any of them. Imagine my surprise when they called me because there was an "incident" while he was being groomed. She claims that Snoopy was resisting and struggling while being groomed and as a result a blood vessel burst in his eye. What!!! I picked him up immediately and brought him to the vet. He was ok but his eye was completely filled with blood. The vet said he may have fallen off the table but couldn't be sure. That evening the groomer called me crying checking on my dog. She kept apologizing over and over again. Seemed like she felt guilty...anyway I would never bring either of my dogs there again. I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED :(
