I feel each makes every effort to guide patients through appointments with a goal for them to leave the facility knowing more about their ophthalmology condition along with diagnoses and options. And don't have any complications because follow up appointments are equally months away. We spent two hours for our initial appointment, finishing late in the day. My medical care at this practice has been good. Their accounting is horrible. Last year they overcharged me by $50, that I paid. Subsequently they were reimbursed by my medical insurance company for that $50, but never informed me. They kept that $50 until my next appointment, and then informed me of the credit balance on my account. For every yearly appointment I ask for an itemized invoice of actual services, and each year they promise to send me one. I have never received an itemized bill from this medical practice in the four years I have used them. I cancelled service going forward. UGH, I had a loud argument to get my credit today, and still no itemized charge. NO STARS ARE EARNED BY THIS FIRM. read more

While visiting Sedona for Thanksgiving, I could not remove one of my contact lenses. I tried everything but no luck. My eye was pretty beat up from trying to extract it. So on Thanksgiving evening my husband found Sedona Eye Care via Google search and tried the cell number. Dr. Wright answered and said he was in Phoenix for Thanksgiving. He gave me several tips to relieve my pain and then referred me to Dr. Kendra Ivy, the other doctor in his practice. The next morning I texted Dr. Ivy and she set up an early appointment on the day after Thanksgiving when the office was closed. She said in many of these cases the lens is no longer in the eye. That proved to be true, but I did have a lot of inflamed tissue. She gave me samples for all the drops needed. Dr. Wright followed up via text to check up on me. Beware. Are you using FSA funds to buy your glasses? (Health Savings Account.) Well, they are mandated to use an inferior lab to make the glasses- not the lab they use for other purchases! My husband has STILL not received his after 5 weeks! Why? The lab they have to use keeps making them wrong. This is unconscionable. My FSA money is just as green as any. Terrible lab and terrible service, they kept sending them back without even telling us, so we have to keep calling them. Aaargh! read more

It is time for Dr Wrigth to retire. I saw him years ago and was satisfied. Both with my husband went to see him again and it was a disaster. Not only his diagnosis was completely off for both of us - we now know after consulting in Prescott - but the hygiene in the office was terrible. His daughter was there to "supervise" and I doubt that hygiene is her preoccupation. I fell sick after my visit with a serious viral infection. I am a retired physician, so I have an eye for this. I believe the doctors are knowledgeable, but the office is very disorganized! Appointments are taking longer and longer. Monday was 2 1/2 hours. 4 days later I am waiting to see a retinal specialist and I am still waiting after 2 hours. I think they are on track to set a record. I anticipate 3 to 4 hours!!! Maybe more? I've been coming here for years. Today we had an appointment for my teenage daughter who was just going in for her contact fitting follow-up. If you are a patient you know it takes hours to get through the entire appointment & I'm okay with that. My daughter had already spent 3 hrs previously about a months ago. It's 4:10 and our appointment was at 2:30 and we are still here. It took the doctor an hour to come visit with us so we first saw her at 3:30. It shouldn't take hours for a contact fitting follow-up appointment. They have too many people in rooms. We ended up seeing the doctor for a total of 7 minutes 4 different times in a matter of 2 hrs. At the ended she let me know they billed my insurance because of dry eye. Also, their assistants aren't knowledgeable. Things needed to be explained a few times amongst them. Definitely a poor experience and a waste of 2 hours of my life. $80 that wasn't expected for a contact fitting follow-up, I paid $110 a month ago. I will never be back. read more

Dr. Wright and Dr. Ivy are extraordinary! I started with Dr. Wright over 17 years ago. I developed severe floaters 4 years ago. The technology to solve my issues wasn't ready then. On Wednesday the 13th I needed to make an emergency visit to an Eye doctor. I called Dr. Wright's office approximately 15 minutes before closing time. I developed some sort of eye irritation and had to be seen as soon as possible. The staff at Sedona Eye Care got me in the same day and without a significant wait. Dr. Wright and his staff have served my husband since his very young age with poor vision up to finally referring him for RK surgery in 1999. I talked with Christy at the front desk and she was so wonderful and calming; she asked me what contact I wore, what my prescription was and checked to see if they had that in stock before I called my doctor (in Ohio) to have them fax my prescription in. She called to confirm that my doctor had faxed in my Rx and when I went there to pick up my contact, Christy told me not to worry about buying a whole box and to gave me the one contact. I popped in on vacation with an eyelash that needed to be removed. I didn't have my magnifying compact to do it myself, which I usually do. The service was fine with the Doctor removing the eyelash, however, I was extremely surprised to be billed $88 for that 30 second procedure. I take full responsibility that was my error as I should have asked about the cost. Months later I received an additional bill for $59.25, with a note stating that, 'sorry we forgot to charge you for...' Beware to get ALL of your costs upfront. read more
