First off, I highly suggest you go to your local library as they may be able to get you a free pass to this museum which is what I did. Otherwise, it's $10. I was hoping to learn more about Sedona... But this small spot is really about the Jordan Farmouse. It's about a random family who lived here. The museum is kind of a hodgepodge of other things such as hiking trails (oddly enough, they didn't have descriptions of the two hiking trails that I used), the Sedona family, cowboys, and Hollywood movies. It's a very small and quiescent spot. There's hardly anyone here so you could really take your time with the exhibits. I think what this museum lacks that other museums succeed at is interactivity. Their idea of interactivity is just pointing your phone at a QR code and doing tons of reading. I thought it was cool that they had a wall about Sedona but it only talked about her life and not about why the city was named Sedona to begin with. I liked how clean and serene the whole place was, but it certainly lacks the charm of other museums I've visited.

This is a small museum. One of the cool things about it is the many QR codes for youtube audio descriptions of historic events. The main building houses a plethora of old housewares. The other buildings house different farm and mechanical equipment.. It's kind of an anthropological history museum of a very specific time period. It's nice, but in no way amazing.

Very nice museum and lots of history here. If you want to learn about the area while you're visiting definitely come see them and see the old photos of Sedona and see the orchards that covered the area. The staff is very knowledgeable and if they aren't too busy have the best stories to tell about the family that lived here.

This is a picture, looking out at the apple trees and mountains

Had a great time with the kids, they have a game kids can play to learn about everything and my boys really liked that. It's very informative and beautiful. Definitely recommend everybody to get your souvenirs here because there's no tax my son and cat Sedona Monopoly, and we played at the entire time we were on vacation

    The name caught my eye.

Yes it's worth the $10 entry fee. And all the tours stop here. There are multiple period buildings to visit on the grounds, and they are nicely decorated or staged. The host was very nice. Great history story for the local area. And bonus McDonalds history anomaly.

A fun way to learn about the history of Sedona. Until the land became more valuable as being parceled and sold off, the land was a working orchard. For generations, the orchard stood. Today, the land is now predominately homes and businesses. The Sedona Heritage Museum is preserving the rich history of the area. Learn about Sedona's history in everything from agricultural to movie making. Busy with kids, so I didn't manage to get pictures inside. At $7 per person, visiting is also a fairly economical thing to do in the area. Free parking is available at the museum. There is a trailhead not far from the museum. If planning on hiking as well, make sure to move your car to the parking lot closer to the trailhead.

Really nice historical museum- self guided tour- can get audio add on as well. Interesting and informative. Gorgeous views. Gift shop. Free parking.

Nice place to spend an hour in a beautiful setting. We attended the museum's holiday event. I made a corn husk doll with help from one of the volunteers. They provided apple cider and cookies. I purchased a gift shop ornament as a donation. The event was well attended. We will be back when the crowds are not overwhelming the museum.

I love supporting small local museums that are so part of a community! This one was no exception! I had been there back in the mid 90s and this time was much more memorable! Our docent-an Irish chap could tell tales of family of Sedona's founding families. The best part is the architecture of the house itself and all of the personal artifacts. The cowboy room is fun too! I don't remember the. Telegraph office from my previous trip, nor the Turquoise arches!

This museum was filled with the history of Sedonas early pioneers. The family that epitomizes Sedona. This was such a nice place. Cowboys, the women and even a telegraph station. I try to visit all "old town" museums. Whether your black, white or another nationality you could appreciate this museum or any other museum...especially if you were like me in school and hated the history that they taught us ( that we now know wasn't even interesting or beneficial) lol

We stopped in here for some history of the town we love to visit so much, Sedona! The volunteers here were super nice, friendly, helpful and informative. There's a lot of information and artifacts to enjoy here. There are quite a few rooms you can walk through, and some set up for staff only. They have a gift shop as well with very reasonable prices. We received audio tour upgrades with our Yelp check-in. Unfortunately, one audio device didn't work and the other one kept skipping while in play :-/ Kind of a disappointing freebie. The volunteers let us know they are planning to upgrade the devices, not sure when. There are buildings outside you can tour as well. The packing barn has relics and videos you can watch on apple packing, homesteading, the forest service, geological area information, etc. You can start the videos yourself on a touchscreen TV in the barn. The apple sorting machine is in there too...kinda cool to see. One of the videos shows how it worked. The barn is also where the fire truck is. Overall, this was an interesting stop. I would highly recommend.

    Various outbuildings with beautiful view.

Fantastic museum! Has great original buildings and artifacts from Sedona and the surrounding area. Loved hearing various settler stories from Arizona's early history that the museum tells. We learned a lot from the exhibits about ranching, orchards, and schools. Would highly recommend a stop here while you're in Sedona!

As my husband and I are visiting Sedona we decided to go to the museum of Sedona to learn some of the history of this town. The location was very easy to find. The history was intriguing of the town. Seeing the property and the tools that were used was I fascinating. The volunteers were very kind and welcoming. The volunteer staff was very knowledgeable of the history of the family and about the town. The experience was pleasant we thoroughly enjoyed this experience. We went to the satellite locations on the property to learn more about the business of the family and the tools that they used to run their orchard business. If you are visiting Sedona we highly recommend a visit to this museum!

It is located just a short distance from Flagstaff and right off the interstate in Winslow, AZ. It was a random weekday when we came so there wasn't a huge crowd and parking was readily available. We also waited to get our tickets once we arrived. I subtract a point for the cost of general admission. It's pretty steep at about 29 dollars for an adult. This gets you access to I believe all of the attractions on site. Walking in, you immediately get to see the Holsinger Meteorite which doesn't look insanely big, but it weighs in at almost a ton. Most of the rest of the meteor dissipated upon impact. The impact created is what you came here to see, the meteor crater. It's definitely very cool to see something like this in person because the only other thing I've ever seen about meteor and craters were in books or movies. The crater is almost a mile wide and 750 deep. You gotta see it to believe it. They have multiple lookout points around the crater. Keep in mind, if you come in the summer like us, you're going to get the hot, dessert heart with not lots of shade. They have telescopes if you want to get a better look. There is also an indoor observation area in the Discovery Center. They also have guided tours if you want to walk to walk the rim of the crater. I believe there also also opportunities on certain days to hike the meteor floor. There are also things to see inside. They have the Blast Zone for interactive fun for the kids. There is a museum inside with all kinds of cool information about the meteor and space things. If you want to get off your feet for a little bit, they have a theater that plays a very informative film about the history of Meteor Crater. One of my favorite parts was the 4D theater. It was cheesy, but fun. Another cool thing they have here is an actual Apollo 11 space capsule used for training the likes of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin when they trained at the Meteor Crater. I love museums and things like this alot and will always stop when nearby. This will most likely be a one and done for me, but I highly suggest stopping by to see it atleast once in your life.

Stop #1: Meteor Crater…read more Some attractions are hard to describe until you're standing on the edge of them. Meteor Crater is one of those places. About 50,000 years ago, a meteor traveling at incredible speed slammed into the Arizona desert, leaving behind a crater that's nearly a mile across and over 550 feet deep. Pictures don't quite capture the scale. Standing at the rim, it's one of those moments that makes you feel wonderfully tiny. The visitor center does a great job explaining the science, and seeing actual meteorite fragments was a nice bonus. It's amazing to think that a few seconds of cosmic chaos created something people are still coming to see thousands of years later. Definitely a stop that's worth taking... even if it's technically the oldest "pothole" in Arizona.
