Me, my daughter and my granddaughter took this Tour on March 17, 2023. Kelsie, our tour guide was top-notch!! I am 66 years old. I was a little nervous being a first time rider, but with Kelsey's instruction and the actual ease of riding the Segway, my concern quickly disappeared. We had so much fun and Kelsie told us everything we needed to know about riding the Segway. He was also very knowledgable about Austin and it's history. Greg was an awesome tour guide. We had a group of 5 and none of us had been on a Segway before. He made sure everyone in the group was confident before we took on the city. He was very thorough in explaining what to do and what not to do. We were very fortunate that the other people in our tour group arrived early/on time - we were actually about to get rolling a little early. This company only does a few tours a day, so make sure you reserve in advance before you come. I suggest doing it online. If you are so inclined, you can insure the Segway for an additional $5. I did opt for this because well, you never know. Unfortunately two of the people in my group had a little incident (too close together) and clipped each other's tires and fell off. Fortunately they both walked away from it, so no big deal. These things are safe to use, just follow their directions and keep a good distance from other people - you'll be fine. Greg was very knowledgeable of the city and I had a great time. I was a little apprehensive at first because I figured it might just be a boring tour but he kept it interesting and even told us some cool spots to check out. I wanted to see the bats fly to the bat bridge- my husband said he wanted to take a Segway tour. Alex was great. 11 on our tour. Practice rides for everyone after helmet safety check. Small bags attached to the front of each Segway can fit a water bottle and small purse or bag. First curb near the capital and I wiped out! I think my wheel hit the curb, obviously not a pleasant way to start my tour. Alex was on the ball - put a bandaid on my elbow- and we were back on our tour again......BUT E.V.E.R.Y. curb I panicked about hitting the curb. Again Alex was great - he pulled me across the curbs for the remainder of the tour. Thanks again Alex! If choosing a tour I'd not pick an evening tour - so many people out in Downtown Austin. An early morning tour would be great. read more

I had a really good time doing this, their instruction was great and I felt safe on this thing,(I have never been on one before). We caused around the city, all looking at different things that were of historic. I kinda wished it was a bit longer, because there is so much to see. The price was good for what we got. They promised water on the trip, however none was offered to us. That is why there is not 5 stars. Bottom line, bring your own water and do not depend on anyone else. read more

I do love a good Segway Tour! I did the Bats and Ghosts tour, and even though the bats decided to stay in that night, riding around Austin on a Segway was so fun. Our guide was knowledgeable and very helpful; he made sure everyone was comfortable on their Segway before guiding us down and around the Capitol building, then on down to the river. Our group consisted of three "couples". A couple from Switzerland, me and my sister, and another group of sisters. I was the only person who had ridden a Segway before. One member of the group had a lot of difficulty getting started, but our guide said that was common. By the end of the trip, she was racing around with the best of us. We had a fantastic time. We got to stop for photos, we were given fun insights about Austin, and told a hilarious story about a woman who really wanted to meet Johnny Depp. We were all also offered bottles of water, which was great because even though you wouldn't think it, by the end of the trip, you feel like you've had a workout. Pass on this if you are really wanting Ghost Stories and to see bats.... The ONLY reason we booked was to see the bats. Upon arrival we were told that the bats were coming out later in the night and therefore we would not be seeing them- Incredibly disappointing. (No call to let us know that??) By the time we got through all of the safety checks, we were 45 min into our "tour time". We stopped at the Capital- a 5 min ride at best for another 20 min to listen to a "Ghost" story, that I'm still not entirely sure of why it was such. We travelled down to the bridge to see where we were NOT going to see the bats. From there we traveled mostly after dark and didn't have any kind of light on the Segway nor wearing reflective vests. Of course with all of the scooters left all over the sidewalks, one person in our group hit one and went dangerously out into the road which thankfully did not result in injury or death! The 3 ghost stories part of the ride was mostly impossible to follow, was not well rehearsed and one was completely debunked. It would have been more fun to skip them altogether and just cruise around, look at cool buildings and graffiti. read more

We recently used this company to tour Austin to see the bats. We got to the bridge about an hour after dark and we missed the bats as we waited 20minutes then returned to the Segways. Everyone later told us that you need to be there at dusk. Disappointing since this is why we booked the tour. Overall the company provided an unsafe experience. We traveled mostly after dark and didn't have any kind of light on the Segway. We weren't wearing reflective vests. We didn't have listening devices so when our guide would mention we needed to watch out for a tree branch or unleveled sidewalk, we were expected to turn around and yell to the person behind us to let them know. There were times we were riding in total darkness on a small sidewalk bordered by a river drop-off and needed to turn around to holler and possibly ride off the sidewalk. The guide never waited at unsafe locations to make sure we got through safely. The ghost story part of the ride was mostly impossible to follow and was not well rehearsed. This Segway tour is definitely not worth the money. read more

Our guide was Brian who was pretty funny and made the experience super easy and enjoyable. Although we experienced a torrential downpour, it made the tour more like an adventure and we were loving it! We were sad that we had to turn around and try to get back to the segway office in case the rain didn't let up. But we were refunded for our tours which still gives me more of a reason to give Segway Nation a five-star rating. The Customer Service was above and beyond! I can't wait to go back! I had a horrible encounter with their tour guide today on South Congress and 11th street. I was walking on the sidewalk when I saw them coming fast at me. I was on the right side, the right way (with the right of way). I stopped because they were on my side going on the opposite direction. The tour guide was able to stop right away and told me to move to the other side. I was annoyed but didn't say anything. He then proceeded and was yelling to me. I was in shock and said "excuse me?!" Then from the distance he yelled again for every one to hear "you were rolling your eyes at me, WOMAN!" It took me a few seconds to realize he just did that and his tour went along laughing. What happened to apologizing to a pedestrian who had the right of way?? What happened to human decency and be courteous? Is that how you treat other people? I work in downtown and I see these people on Segways and scooters riding fast with no regards to pedestrians. And they have attitudes and entitlement issue since they're on the wheels and we're not. I called the office to complain and wasn't taken seriously. Do NOT use this company. read more

I found a deal on this Segway Tour through Expedia. I have taken a previous 3 hour Segway tour in Washington DC so I knew this would be a fun way to see the city. I booked a 1.5 hour tour for the city of Austin. I wish we had done this first in our trip as it is such a good way to identify other things you would like to do or see. Our guide was Brian. Don't hate. - It's easy to watch the people touring ATX on segways these days and think... "What a bunch of dorks"... :) I took the Bat/Ghost tour this past week and it was awesome. We had a bright full moon and everyone in the group got the hang of riding pretty quickly. Segways are really pretty simple to use and they go a lot faster than I expected (really fun to tear through the grounds of the Texas Capitol). Great time.
