After all of these years, I am most grateful and relieved to have finally found my go-to self tape home in The Self Tape Space....such an excellent, on point studio that is run by a successful, working actor, with care and attention to detail for other actors! I feel there is no better way to get the best perspective, insight, angles, precision, and bring out the best in your performance than having someone experienced who knows "what works" and "what books". I am an entertainer working in Film, Television, on Broadway and in Vocal Music. "Having" to do self tapes has unfortunately always been so draining, stressful and such a chore for me...Little things like never feeling anyone has ever captured me in my best light or look while making them, or everything just always appearing unnatural no matter how great of a read I'm giving. After having a fabulous self tape vibe and experience at The Self Tape Space, I now have a majorly different outlook on having to do this - and I can honestly say that I welcome it with joy and positivity, because I know that there, the results are going to be the absolute best I could hope for. With Cam from the Self Tape Space, it is an extremely carefree, FUN, poised and polished, and superb session. I find very good energy there and feel great, AT EASE and focused! With Cam as your reader, he will give you everything you need to feed off of for an engaged and connected and honest performance, and he is perfectly in sync and controlled with volume and emotion as to never overpower you as the main focus of the tape. Very important! Cam will relax into the time with you so that you feel 100% satisfied with your takes. He is highly skilled and in touch, and he cares...so if you do so happen to want constructive feedback to make your sessions and takes picture perfect during your time, I do recommend asking and turning to him for any notes/advice....another lovely plus! In addition, it is the most speedy turn around time ever...In just minutes and before you've packed your bag to leave, Cam will have your tape beautifully edited, slated, titled and delivered to your agents and managers! They will appreciate it, and you can leave there feeling accomplished, finished and move on to enjoying your day!...I love that feeling. The space itself is actually pleasant, appealing and gorgeous, which always makes things soothing nice and comforting. Located in an upscale building, the studio is on the top floor and in a beautiful atmosphere and decor. The equiptment and sound are wonderful, and the lighting is fabulous. It is definitely where my best self tapes have been made. With my last taping at The Self Tape Space, my manager called literally within that next half hour to tell me that casting loved the tape, and it was instantly sent to and being watched by the executive producers just minutes later. With Cam and The Self Tape Space, you will rest assured knowing that you are putting forward and presenting your most wonderful self, artistry, performance and product that you possibly can...and truly, that is all we can control in this industry! I'm thankful that there is a place I can go to make a flawless tape and just relax and be in realness. This place operates at peak performance, when it comes to a professional environment, competent reading as well as effective coaching skills. I came in here twice over a weekend while visiting Manhattan and he was prompt and accommodated my quick turnaround in an expert manner. The second tape in particular was under a time constraint and we got it out in now time. He was friendly and kept the space and our time together very low stakes -- exactly what I needed to deliver the best performance. The method he uses to help you pick your best takes is efficient and organized and he got the final product out to me within a matter of hours. Well how conveinent for me that I happen to live in the same building. But besides that, Cameron is super gregarious, funny, very easy to talk to and willing to go above and beyond to make sure you get exactly what you want. If you are not sure what you want he can tell you exactly what you need and get you there. The space is clean, professional and state of the art. Also you don't feel rushed AT ALL. Lord knows I kept messing up on lines and he was calm and cool and just kept saying " Thats all-right, relax, take a breathe and lets do it again." I've been happy with everything I have taped there. The space is clean and comfortable. Cameron (owner) has professional respectful demeanor, but is also supportive and fun. My last taped audition was a difficult film scene. He made it clear that there was no rush, and we worked to get the best take possible. He then got the files to me more quickly than I expected. Oh, and Cameron knows the subtleties of being a reader for YOUR audition. It's also VERY reasonably priced. I needed a tape fast, and up until this point, had been relying on friends to pull through in last minute situations to help me out. This time, those options weren't available to me. So I took a chance and found Cameron's website. He was incredible. His studio was immaculately clean and his equipment and background dressing were exceptional and professional.
