Stone Gate Farm: The Barn and Guesthouse

I was a maid of honor at my best friends wedding here last April and honestly was shocked at the…read morelevel of inflexibly this venue provided. First, the groom and bride wanted to set up the venue the night prior as the bridal party was going to do it (her mama made ALL the decorations) and we didn't want to be rushed the day of. Little backstory, we rented the entire venue for THREE DAYS so we did assume that if we rented it for three days, we would have full access. However, the venue absolutely refused to allow us to do so and did not tell us until a week prior. Their reasoning was there was no insurance on the barn and were unable to provide an option to opt in for additional Insurance. A direct result of this was the entire bridal party spent 8am in the morning until 2:00pm setting up the venue and not being able to spend any time with the bride and groom the day of. Secondly, when we saw the tablecloths set up the next day I noticed the color was a little off. So I asked the wedding coordinator if there was a chance I could replace them with another color. She explained that they unfortunately did not have replacements on site. They rented them for each event. The bridal party went about our day. Then I found in the house (where the washer and dryer is) additional white tablecloths that I had asked for. Please bear in mind I wasn't asking the venue workers to do additional work. I volunteered the bridal party to get them and replace the horrid pink ones. I was more upset we were lied too and would've expected complete transparency. Lastly, they overcharged the bride and groom for the amount of people at the wedding by $300 and refused to provide a refund. I would not recommend this venue for any bride. I have been a part of over five weddings and helped plan over a dozen and this venue was one of the worst I've ever experienced. I would book elsewhere

To start if you have a ton of homemade decor you plan on setting up just prepare to be left alone in the bridal suite the entire day of your wedding while every one bust their butt setting up day of. I felt so bad for my bridal party. No one got to lay back and enjoy the day including my family. It was really sad, honestly. The venue won't allow you to set up the day before even if you purchase the guest house on sight. We had the assumption if you rent the guesthouse you have the site for the weekend. (Most venues do this) Don't assume! This is ridiculous! Although, I am out of town because I'm active duty so planning was hard enough. The fact I wasn't even able to enjoy anything was very very upsetting. Also, don't over forecast on how many guest you'll have. I only had 99 guest and got charged for 20 guest ($15 each) who weren't even at the wedding. We were told the guest would be counted as they went into the ceremony and charged thereafter for how many we went over. However, this was not the case once we got our deposit back. We were charged an additional $300 for those who didn't even come. Scam! Why would you get charged for people who weren't there!? I can understand if I said I had 200 coming and 50 came and the set up was tedious, but that was not the case. I knew they weren't counted when I asked how many were there day of and couldn't get an answer. I know how many because I counted myself as well as my family members thinking that would be how it went because that's what we were told. We still made sure the venue and guesthouse were spotless before we left though. If it weren't for dirty sheets you wouldn't even know we were there. Im very disappointed in this venue. I put this out there to ensure other brides are aware of this because it can put a huge damper on your big day as it did ours. Cindy is great to work with as the owner and very sweet though. Kaitlin the Cordinator is also phenomenal. I just would not have gotten married there if I knew what I know now.

The venue features two distinct, yet cohesive spaces with an outdoor open-air ceremony space with rows of seating and a backdrop of a small pond and then a large classic white barn featuring a large indoor space, a covered patio and a fire pit area. The barn itself is spacious, bright and warm. The table set up and table settings are gorgeous and perfectly manicured for the event at hand. Bathrooms are easily accessible and there are multiple entry and exit points, making for a nice flow during the event. Staff was friendly and helpful, and always available. They were directing traffic, guiding folks to their seats, pointing folks to the restrooms, cleaning up or just being available when needed. Parking seems to be ample, but does fill up very quickly, so best to be early to whatever event you are attending. Entrance to the venue is easy to miss, so be careful when looking for it, especially if it is at night. The road is windy coming in, and opens up to a beautiful landscape with the outdoor venue straight ahead and the barn up on the hill. The backdrop for the venue is excellent all around. If you have never been to Beechgrove before, be prepared and make all your pitstops before getting off the exit. For a few miles, the only things are this venue and a nearby Shell station. Overall, the venue did a phenomenal job. Happy to have been part of something so special as such a special place!

They had several packages to choose from as well as several sights to hold the ceremony and 2 different venues to hold the reception. We chose the Run For The Roses package with the ceremony in the garden and the reception to be held in the Pavilion. Tracey was EXCELLENT from the first meeting! She answered all of our questions, even if we asked the same one 10 times! We reserved the venue in June 2021 for Oct 2022, more than a year in advance. We met with Tracey a few times at the venue before the actual wedding day and had many email and text conversations with her. She wanted to be sure she had every detail down for our daughters wedding and her vision of the day. Everything was great! The evening of the wedding, when it was time to pack up, Tracey and her crew did EVERYTHING! Anytime I got up to help with clean up she'd politely tell me to sit down, and remind me that was their job to do. She even packed up my car! Tracey was just incredible, I can't say enough about her. She was professional, but yet a great friend! I'd highly recommend her! When it came to the venue, the grounds were not what we expected they would be on the wedding day, they have some Air bnb's on sight and one place being remodeled we were told would be finished before the ceremony. It was still in the same unfinished condition it was the first day we went for our initial visit. The fields were cut for parking, but trees were not trimmed back, weeds not pulled, the Pavilion was dirty feeling. It just looked a little unkept. And the stairs leading up to the Bridal Suite are steep! So the Bride's Grandmothers were not able to see/visit with her before the ceremony. We had heard it was out up for sale and then had sold after we had reserved the venue and before the ceremony. So I'm not sure if the change in ownership was a factor in prepping the property for the wedding?

They are so accommodating. I chose the "All Day Rental" Package. Pros: They listen to you. They know exactly how to work their magic and wave their wand to be your personal fairy grandmother. Tracey was always there if I needed something. Yesterday, I was given the barn for FREE because there was a thunderstorm forecasted on my day. My ceremony started at 3:00pm. Later that night, we had a tornado warning around 5:30pm. Thankfully we had the barn or else who knows what would've happened. I didn't have the barn originally. I had the "All Day Rental" Package where I rented out the entire land except the barn. To be given something free when you are a worrisome, stressed-out bride over the weather was astounding. I know they were able to give me the barn because I had already rented out the entire land, but even then to know that they wanted my day to be as perfect as it can be meant so much to me and my entire family. In the rental package that I had, they give you 12 hours which is MORE than enough time to have everyone ready in the same land. I only needed 10 hours. Because they knew there was going to be horrible weather, they allowed my husband and I to be on the land at 7am in the morning! This was much earlier than the contract had said. Cons: There are none! There's no point to nit pick over little things when they made my day from the beginning!
