The moment I was recommended to Dr Gdih for consultation on my eye condition, the result came back that I will be needing cataract surgery, however, there was two options: 1. Option 1 was the normal cataract surgery with the normal lens replacement at no cost 2. Option 2 was a cataract surgery a special lens replacement that may correct my vision with a cost Dr Gdih really explained the two options to me and I chose Option 2. I went for the surgery and I felt that he really took care of me. He made the surgery really comfortable. The surgery for both eyes was one week apart. Just hours after surgery, I can notice may vision getting clear. The recovery went well and my experience was that Dr. Gdih took really good care of me through the process and until now. I now have the freedom from my high indexed glasses and am always amazed of not having the need to wear glasses most of the time. Although I still have to use the occasional readers when using the computer and reading small fonts - it's a small sacrifice for the freedom Aqua i Laser and Dr Gdih had given me. My LASIK surgery was Tuesday, December 23, 2014. I was very nervous for this procedure and excited…read moreat the same time. On the day of the surgery, I was surprisingly relaxed and confident. I knew the surgeon was very competent and confident, but the nerves tend to get the best of me even at the dentist. Despite working in the operating room and seeing how the rest of the patients seemed to recover so seamlessly, I probably could have benefitted from a dose of Xanax. It was hard to keep my eye focused on the light, it was incredibly bright and I had a hard time controlling the waves of nausea. Dr. Riyaz and Kim tried to keep me calm and relaxed and helped me control my nerves by talking me through the motions. I was finally able to calm myself and we proceeded with the vacuum and suction. Once the darkness kicked in it was much easier to relax. The same anxiety kicked in for the second eye, but the staff were able to talk me down and I was able to relax enough to continue with the suction and actual cutting of the flap. I was so happy when it was finally over, though I remember saying that I never wanted to do that again. I didn't realize my eyes would burn and sting so much either. I'm guessing my eyes are hypersensitive, because anyone else I have seen come through those doors has not been as whiney as I was. They all made it look so easy! Day 2 post surgery was much better. My eyes didn't burn anymore with the drops and my vision had cleared up completely in my right eye. At my 24hrs appointment I was told I had a little swelling which I suspected since my eyelid was enlarged. I was given a new drop schedule and slight modifications were made to help with the swelling and slight DLK. Today is Day 4 post surgery. I do have a little dryness, but the scratching and burning is gone. I see 20/20 out of both eyes and still have a hard time focusing on the computer monitor. The OT said the blurriness should clear up as the swelling reduces and we would do another refraction to see where my acuity is at as I was more myopic on Day 2. Overall, Dr. Riyaz is a great surgeon. He talks you through the procedure and brings you back to focus. The surgical assistants are great and very helpful. Thank you for this opportunity. I am glasses free and so happy.

I texted a friend who highly recommended this new shop called nv. I haven't heard of many of the brands they carry which was great - the styles were anything from conservative to way out there funky. I found something in between. Definitely something for everyone here and yet very unique from the typical shop. Attentive, informative staff helped throughout my visit. Highly recommend. Adding to my previous post, we recently received two new pair of glasses that we ordered from Toronto. Just like in-store the service was spectacular. We spoke to Victor who is one of the owners and he coordinated with the other owner Nadine to make sure the prescription was correct. It was fast and efficient and we got a style that was hard to find (and more expensive!) in Toronto. Wish this shop was closer to us but with this type of service even if we can't be there we'll order again.

THIS was WITH an appointment, I asked if I got the time wrong and was taken care of immediately. Eyewear promised in 7-10 days, it took about 7, thumbs up there. I called when they arrived and was told I can't get in to pick them up for another week. Last time I will ever shop there! It's too bad because the optometrist was awesome.

I had perfect eyesight but didn't know my alphabet and my speaking skills and comprehension wasn't good at that age. I finished the eye exam with the optometrist concludng that the 5-year old needed priscription glasses. I had no idea what glasses were or what they were meant to do at the time, but I was told to keep them on all the time so I did. As I grew, my eyes developed with the glasses, they grew to depend on them and even made my eye vision progressively detoriate with each year. I had to then get stronger and stronger glasses. Stuck wearing priscription glasses now, my biggest regret is not knowing what wearing glasses does when you dont need them. The worse part is knowing how much money your parents have spent on glasses for you over a lifetime... they're unbelievably expensive.
