Selkirk Powder refused any accommodation for out of state individuals who got stranded out of state during insane winter flight cancellation issues where 90% of all flights into the area were cancelled. The thing is, there was still several days left for them to cancel and refill the slot on the snowmobile trip during a holiday week. I wasn't asking for a refund, I was asking for a credit to be utilized within one year. Be warned that they stick with some inane 45 day cancellation policy in an area that is prone to bad weather. If you live out of state, they are not worth booking an excursion with. I absolutely do not recommend this company. read more

The family came up here to do the snowmobile tour and it didn't disappoint. Even though the chair lift got shut down and we were trapped in the cabin for two hours and got to ride the snow cat to the bottom of the hill. The tour guides are awesome and very knowledgeable. read more

We were super excited to go on this snowmobiling tour when unfortunately our flight got cancelled due to the Southwest Department of Transportation Investigation. We had reservations for 1pm on December 27th 2022 and let the company know as soon as we found out that there was no possible way to make our reservation since we live in California. We were trying to be respectful of the company's time and business by giving them ample amount of time to re book our slot for someone else and get our money refunded. The customer service was so unprofessional and rude they said they couldn't do anything to help us when clearly the situation was totally out of our control. We were very transparent with them about our situation from the beginning and they couldn't even show an ounce of understanding. Not to mention we completely missed Christmas with our family in Idaho, as we live in California, and our three year old was just devastated. I am so disgusted and disappointed in how they handled this situation I would never recommend this business to anyone. read more

When you've arrived in North Idaho to ride Schweitzer, one of North America's best kept secrets you're going to be rewarded with a great mountain, down home staff and top shelf amenities, the mountain is as good as I need so the marriage between Schweitzer and SPG just seems right. After poaching a week of good snow inboands (and it was good!) I figured i'd just pop by SPG and see if there's a seat for Saturday, There was!, I went! and what can I say...? Selkirk Powder delivers from reservations to the days send off, Big shout out to Ronnie for dialing me into a late entry single seat!!! Group sizes 9/cat works well, didn't feel rushed or crowded, plenty of fall line for all. Our lead guide James was just as stoked as the crew, informative yet relaxed, a great lead indeed. Then there's Jason our tail feather, again, stoked to be a part of such a wonderful outfit and it shows. There's a nice air of confidence in a very relaxed atmosphere which is what you want on a powder day. The falline beta was well organized and we ran fresh tracks all day. I just spoke to this company today about booking my second cat trip with them and it reminded me how awesome of an experience it was the first time, so I felt compelled to write this review for anyone else who may be on the fence about where to book their cat trip this year or whether or not cat skiing is really worth it. Here's my story. The first cat skiing trip I ever went on was with Selkirk Powder and I have since been on several other cat skiing operations but none have quite met the same mark as Selkirk Powder. What makes these guys different is the people. These guys are passionate about what they do and going into the backcountry with them is like no experience you have ever had before. You feel like you're just hangin out with a handful of good buddies, having the best day of your life enjoying amazing runs, full of untouched powder. Some of the other groups feel a little more stiff and commercial whereas the team at Selkirk really goes the extra mile to make sure you are having the best day you've ever had on the mountain. Price wise, Selkirk is also very reasonably priced in comparison to every other cat operation I have ever personally been on or considered going on. For years, I debated booking a trip with these guys and finally pulled the trigger so my advice to you, if you are considering this, just book it. We took a 3hr snowmobile tour with Sean, and could not have enjoyed ourselves more! The backcountry was amazing, and the snow was perfect.
