This is their way of getting 5 star reviews before you have had a chance to interact with them for an extended period of time. Wait to provide a review until you move-out. This will give you more time to determine how Savoy West Chester (Hills Properties) truly operates. The management team is exceptionally good at being very friendly before and immediately upon move-in. Just read the other reviews...they are from people who recently took a tour of the property or recently moved-in. Then compare those reviews to the reviews provided by tenants that have moved out. You will see a vast difference in opinion.. Move-out becomes a problem if you have to break your lease and move out early. They tell you they have a "waiting list" and ask you for "accelerated" rent payments. They tell you they will refund any amount if they are able to place a new tenant before your lease expires and since they have a waiting list, that time period is typically 2 weeks. My 3 neighbors moved out at least 3 weeks before any work was even started on 2 of the units. If you need an honest opinion of Savoy don't rely on this review or anything you hear from the management team, with the exception of Taylor. Taylor is great to work with and has a great personality. Come by the place and talk to the 3rd party cleaning crew and ask their opinion of the management team. You will be amazed at what they have to say about the management team. There are plenty of other decent apartments in the area. I would encourage everyone to consider those first. You will regret staying at Savoy in the end. Again, please, please, please don't give them a 5 star review until you stay here at least a year or more and have had a chance to see how they handle move-out! What have you got to lose? Also, before signing the lease, ask them what the "Lease Break Fee" is and get it in writing. As mentioned before, working with Taylor was great. I can't say that about the leasing staff. Forget about calling the corporate office. The regional manager can't seem to return emails or phone calls. She gets the manager to do her dirty work. With high exposed ceilings, industrial concrete pillars, and countless gigantic windows, you can feel the hustle-and-bustle of Cincinnati's heyday in your living room. Some of the stories that surround the building include Mrs. Potter's Hygienic Supply Co., which manufactured some of the first brunette hair dye called "Walnut Tint Hair Stain" in 1903. The ground floor was once home to Dow Drugs in 1890, the first drug store in Cincinnati to add a soda fountain, along with perfume, cosmetic, and tobacco departments. It was managed by a young woman, age 22, who graduated second in her all-male class at pharmaceutical college. Groton Lofts is a seven story building, with the first floor occupied by the Blue Wisp Jazz Club. Live music is audible in the second floor apartments, with the performance space being located under units 201 - 204. Blue Wisp is courteous though, with music ending around 10:00 on most weeknights and by midnight on weekends. Plus, it's smooth jazz tunes, nothing boisterous. It's actually enjoyable to listen to while waiting on the elevator in the lobby. The apartments themselves are very spacious, with gigantic open living rooms, and open kitchen with hardwood, basement storage spaces, secure access, and coin laundry on every floor. Units are available in one and two bedroom models. A secure parking garage is across the street for $71.00 per month. Groton residents also have access to amenities at adjacent apartments, like the fitness center at Shillito Place and the rooftop pool at The Gramercy. While the layout is incredibly roomy, historic, and offers a gorgeous view of Cincinnati and Piatt Park, there are a few downsides to Groton. - Due to the exposed ceiling, the bedrooms have full walls and an open ceiling. If you have a roommate in a two bedroom, you can hear everything from music, to doors shutting, to washing dishes in the kitchen. If you room with a light sleeper, this could be a problem. - The large, historic windows are amazing, but only half of them actually open. Two windows out of six in the living room open, as does one of the two in a second bedroom. None of the windows in the master bedroom open; they're all bolted shut from the outside. - Cooling costs get exorbitant on the top floor during the summer. Expect upwards of $300.00 bills from Duke Energy during July and August. Maintenance is on top of the game, responding to requests within one day, on-call for emergencies, and will help fix anything from a broken stove to installing a curtain rod. They even deliver any UPS packages that arrive while you're out. Management is very friendly as well: quick to respond to any problems, organizes community activities, makes sure the common areas are safe and clean, and most importantly, goes to great lengths to make sure incoming residents transition easily into their new home. Filled with turn-of-the-century architecture, tons of natural light, and a luxuriously large living room, Groton Lofts continues its tradition of attracting artistic minds to Downtown Cincinnati. After my old roommate moved out, I was paying rent by myself and keeping to myself without any issues. When they found out I was living alone, they wanted the spare key back which was an oversight on my part so I gladly turned it in. Then the building manager, Betsy Gerhandstein, started harassing me with calls and emails and texts to my personal phone and started saying there were noise complaints about me which was weird because my next door neighbor said I was very quiet and never bothered him. There was another tenant across the hall who often entertained several people and played loud music so I suspected the noise complaints were probably getting blamed on me instead for some reason. They were also doing some renovations and may have just wanted to update my unit and increase the rent for another tenant since I was in one of the older and cheaper units. I'm really not sure what the actual problem was. Betsy texted me to tell me SHE chose to not renew my lease with no explanation as to why so I started to look into other apartments. Then they put a note on my door saying I could either move out immediately or stop making noise so I moved out and turned in my keys since I had no control over the noise that was getting blamed on me and needed to have a safe place to live. I was locked out of the rental portal, building, and parking garage as I no longer lived there and no longer had keys to the building. I emailed the Marissa Masters at the management office to let her know about everything that happened and she replied a couple times then stopped so I assumed they were aware of everything Betsy had said and done and the matter was dropped. Months later, I found out that they put me into collections for the last month left in my lease after I left, but they had given it to a collecting agency with typos in my email address and phone number so they had no way to contact me about it and I only knew when I was denied my student loans in my final year of my Master's program. I had to get a second job to pay my tuition while in full-time graduate clinical rotations and even had to set up a go-fund me to avoid taking a semester off. I didn't even know they expected me to pay rent through the lease or I would've at least kept using my parking spot there to visit downtown and visit the rooftop view again. I reported it as fraud but am still not able to take out loans in time to pay tuition and the whole ordeal has affected my mental health and quality of life much more than any apartment building should be allowed. Shame on this building and the whole management team for targeting me and threatening my education, housing security, and career. I promise you it is not worth the location or view to deal with this type of people owning the place where you live.

They were really good and really fast with answering all of my questions and I do like that they do a background check on all the guests before your stay. The apartment was so nice and roomy! Much better than a one room hotel for sure! It came with free parking across the street which is great since you can walk anywhere due to the amazing location. It came with Roku for relaxing before bed and speaking of bed, the mattress was very comfortable. I slept like a baby and told my husband, "we need a mattress like this for home!" All in all I was so happy that I found this apartment and saved over $150! I think the only bad thing I would say is we could have used more towels and a microwave for late night eating, although our friend's apartment did have a microwave so I guess it may just depend on what apartment you book. Our friends were on the 2nd floor and we were on the 6th floor. There apartment was also decorated super cute and very clean like ours. We have a Shinedown concert in Cincinnati again in 3 weeks and are definitely coming back to East 8 Lofts again. I will for sure be searching Front Desk first for anytime I need to leave town as I looked and they are all over. Definitely recommend!
