Subtitled "Pages and More", Wilson's Newsagency is a well-sized bookstore along side a standard…read morenewsagency, with a remarkably good selection of new books. Their stand-out sections are sport, cooking, business, biography, general fiction and what they call "military & transport". Like every library, every bookshop has a different focus, so its interesting to see what this one stocks. They also have a great range of fantasy, with all the popular authors and a few new faces, with good prices to match. I almost bought their box set of the first four books in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Fire and Ice" because it was only $65. My boyfriend reminded me how many books I have at home that I don't need and will have to move with us, so I restrained myself. But oh, I didn't want to. Their children's range is also large, with loads of vampiring teen fiction as well as plenty for early readers. This is a newsagent "plus books" that takes its books seriously. Nor does it slack off on its newsagency responsibilities, providing all the magazines and stationary you would expect.

I still get confused when I walk past this store because I'm so used to it be called Angus &…read moreRobertson. What made it even more confusing is when nothing other than the name changed in the store. Anyway, let's get back to the point. Wilsons has everything you could want for a book nerd or someone in search of a stellar newsagency. The selection of books is almost overwhelming! There's a huge variety to choose from. The newsagent portion of the store is just as good. Plenty of cards, wrapping, magazines and stationary to choose from. Wilson does not lack anything in this department. The only problem I have is the same problem I have with all bookstores. When are they going to lower the general prices of books? Why are they so expensive? Buying a movie is cheaper, and you usually end up using it more!

'Mr V' (I don't know his name so I will call him this) gave me the hairy eyeball for photographing…read morethe front of his store and I was worried when I walked in I'd get a few choice words. Instead he was very nice and wrote down the opening hours for me on a cool postcard. This place has a great collection of everything, especially indie and aussie hip hop. In the rear section is a huge area devoted to World Music, specifically Womad performers. It's a huge range and I'm pretty sure every artist who's every played there is stocked! The prices are really good, around twenty bucks average. The store is full of some really cool artwork on the walls as well. Mr V explained that a local dude who specialises in surf and street themed artwork supplies all the art. Worth checking out for the music and the artwork. I don't know who you are Mr V but I like your style.

Mr V Music is located on the Semaphore road stretch at no. 115. Yes that's right he has moved…read morefurther up the road from the previous address! A nice little music shop with copious amounts of both vinyl and CD's all neatly organised in their appropriate genres. One thing that I particularly like is the amount of room around the shop that there is to move; it's always nice having some space! The shop also stocks rare and collectible memorabilia towards the front counter but I was far to occupied looking through the sheer amount of quality vinyl in store. A fantastic range, the service was good and the gentleman was friendly but seemed a bit preoccupied with something else when I came to purchase what I had found. None the less, this was minor and I was extremely happy with what I had walked away with. Another great vinyl store in Adelaide, that stocks a great variety of both secondhand and new records and CD's. Put this shop on your list of 'go to's', there isn't too many around this part of town!
