Both of my children attended BWM, though in different circumstances (because of the timing of the…read morepandemic) and in different classes. Pros: - the academics are excellent, especially when it comes to learning to read. - cannot say enough good things about Ms. Gia! - they enjoyed coming to school and loved their teachers - there is a true commitment to the value of bilingualism Opportunities for growth which I don't think could be learned from a tour or handbook: - traditional binary gender stereotypes are reinforced with explanations or comments like "boys like to play more rough" - there is a missed opportunity to engage with parents as equal partners who can add value. - I wouldn't mind sacrificing the academics a bit for more time spent on social emotional content, such as how to navigate conflict on the playground or being inclusive of all classmates or celebrating growth and transitions Would I choose a different preschool if I had to do it all over again? I don't think so. We would still have chosen this school. It was a solid start to our children's school experiences.

The biggest, loudest red flag is their snack menu: skinny POPCORN and RAISINS, two of the most commonly known choking hazards. The admin confirmed their snack schedule is up to date, and indicated "nothing has ever happened before" when questioned about the popcorn and raisins. Well, I'm glad none of the kids under your supervision have choked as a result, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Any decent preschool / day care would not endanger their littles. On top of that, the teachers looked tired and the playrooms underwhelming. I observed a couple of children practicing writing, yet they seemed dim and not as engaged or as happy as other kids I've observed at other schools. No, I would not recommend this place. I would stay far away.

I was a bit apprehensive on the idea of having my then 2 year old son in day care. My son was born…read morein the start of the Covid era which caused us to spend so much time together during quarantine that I had become had one of those dreaded "helicopter moms". I was not looking forward to placing my child in daycare but life happened and daycare was my only option for daycare. I searched and searched and interviewed a few local places in the area and was not satisfied. They were not the right fit for us. Finally, I found Maria through Yelp. I read all the previous reviews and decided to give this place a shot. My son was not used to be around anyone who wasn't family and suffered with separation anxiety from me. I knew this transition would be challenging. To my surprise, my son was happy and comfortable at Happy Village right away!!! From day one to current day, he has always been happy to go to "school" which proved to me this was a safe and loving place. The environment Maria and her team has created is nurturing with elements of early education and interactive play time. She keeps the kids on routine which is great for their development. She has a great selection of educational toys and books. She feeds the kids healthy home cooked meals. The place is always clean. She celebrates holidays and every child's birthday. During the summer, she'll even have a little kiddie pool for the children to play, always under adult supervision. My son has such a good time at daycare. It's been a little over 2 years now and we could not be happier with their care. She has an amazing staff to assist, Miss Leslie is so kind and patient with all the kids. We love her too!! It is not easy to find a good quality day care but rest assured, your child will be in great hands here. We love and adore Maria. She really is a gem.

I showed up as scheduled for tour but no response back, unorganized when scheduled to meet.read more
